Paige Bell's GoFundMe page donations pass R1 million mark
At the time of publishing, the page had raised $56 478 (R1 008 750), which represents 94% of the goal of raising $60 000.
Bell was murdered aboard a £9.5 million superyacht in the Bahamas by a Mexican co-worker earlier this month just days shy of what would've been her 21st birthday on Monday, 14 July.
Meanwhile, the man accused of murdering Bell has been pictured for the first time .
Mexican crew member Brigido Munoz allegedly sexually assaulted and killed Bell in the 142-foot vessel's engine room.
Munoz appeared in court in capital Nassau, where Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley denied him bail and remanded him in custody until a 20 November hearing.
Munoz, who worked as an engineer on board the Far From It yacht, was not required to enter a plea.
The magistrates court heard Bell was found partially clothed and bloodied, with slash wounds to her neck and defensive injuries on her arms – suggesting she fought for her life.
Munoz was reportedly discovered lying close by with injuries on his arms, in what authorities suspect may have been a failed suicide attempt.
He was rushed to hospital before being charged.
Described by friends as a 'golden girl,' Bell was reportedly just days away from returning to South Africa to celebrate her 21st birthday on 14 July.
Bell's former school, Hillcrest High School, in KwaZulu-Natal, paid tribute to her on social media.

'Paige matriculated in 2022 and is remembered by our HHS community as an incredibly special young lady who was the happiest, most bubbly person.

Meta Platforms Inc, which owns Instagram and WhatsApp, is facing being held in contempt of court for failing to comply with a court order concerning Instagram handles and WhatsApp channels that were posting child pornography . The Digital Law Company (DLC), which is litigating to protect the children, has asked the court to order that, if Meta does not comply with a new Saturday deadline, one of its officials should be committed to imprisonment. The litigation concerns Instagram profiles and WhatsApp channels that were posting 'graphic child pornography, devastating personal information, allegations of children being HIV positive – all the while identifying individuals and schools,' said the DLC's Emma Sadleir in court papers. An annexure to the court papers attached some of the content that had been uploaded on these profiles. It included a video of what was claimed to be schoolchildren having sex in the toilets, posts of children's names and their schools, claiming they had STIs, and pornographic photos and videos of young girls. After an urgent application on Monday, the Johannesburg High Court ordered Meta and three officials to immediately and permanently remove six WhatsApp channels and 30 Instagram profiles. It also ordered them to immediately and permanently disable the person behind the accounts from creating any further profiles; and to hand over information about the identity of the person. After the court order, the named Instagram profiles and some of the WhatsApp channels were deleted – either by Meta or their creator – but some remained active. With the WhatsApp channels that had been deleted by the creator, the content that was on them was still available to those that had followed it when they were active, said Sadleir. New profiles also soon began to emerge. New WhatsApp channels and Instagram accounts were 'being created ... every few minutes, soliciting and publishing private and pornographic information, images and videos involving South African children', said Sadleir in the contempt application, filed in court on Wednesday. 'That is why the order to disable and the disorder to disclose are so important,' she said.

'Nigerian scammers' use Siya Kolisi to dupe public in AI video
Springbok captain Siya Kolisi's likeness has been used by 'Nigerian scammers' who created an AI video featuring the popular player. In the video, 'Siya' appears to encourage his followers to engage in an investment scheme. On the X platform, an AI-created video of Siya Kolisi has left many South Africans amused and confused. The clip features the Springbok captain's likeness, encouraging the public to 'invest' in a programme that could generate high interest. Speaking in a 'Nigerian' accent, the man South Africans recognise as Kolisi says: 'I guarantee that everyone who registers this month and invests the minimum amount of R4 400 will be able to earn their first R100 000 Seemingly trying to convince the public, 'Siya Kolisi' added, 'I have no need to lie. I use this project myself, from which I receive additional high income. It is completely transparent, legal, and has already helped thousands of people around the country. 'I will show proof that it really works'. On X, South Africans have been amused and somewhat amazed at the creativity of scammers. Siya Kolisi has yet to respond to the scam's use of his image. Siya Kolisi is not the first Springbok to be used to prey on the public in a scam. In 2019, SA Rugby issued a stern warning to the public about social media posts using coach Rassie Erasmus to try to lure money from them. The posts featured fake screenshots of articles from reputable publications. SA Rugby shared: 'The authors are trying to steal your money. And for absolute clarity, Rassie – or any other Springbok personality whose identity may be hijacked – does not have investing advice for you; does not want you to send money to him or her, and is not recommending any kind of business opportunity even if it relates to rugby. These are all scams'. It added: 'Please ignore them, keep your money in your pocket and share this advice with any friends who may be in danger of being duped'. Mkwanazi march turns chaotic as protesters storm SAPS building
The #HandsoffMkhwanazi march turned chaotic when marchers made a U-turn to the South African Police Service Provincial Head Office in Durban to show their support for KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi. The march was supposed to start at Curries Fountain Sports Development Stadium and end at Hoy Park. It was intended to show support for Mkhwanazi after he made damning allegations against Police Minister Senzo Mchunu for interfering in police investigations and disbanding a task team investigating political killings. The march was nearing its end when protesters suddenly turned in a different direction. Police rushed to block the marchers; some were standing outside the headquarters with their guns and shields to protect themselves from the protesters. The South African spoke to one of the marchers, who chose to remain anonymous, on why they redirected the protest to the SAPS headquarters.' 'To be honest, we are angry and sick and tired of what's happening in this country. Mkhwanazi is a hero for being brave enough to tell us of the hidden things in this country. The president did not show that he took this thing seriously and just put Mchunu on leave while he was supposed to suspend him.' 'That's why we are here today to show support for Mkhwanazi.
