BHISHM portable modular hospitals enroute to Jammu for emergency situation
'HLL life care Ltd. (HLL) a CPSE under Union Health Ministry is the nodal agency for the procurement and deployment of Aarogya Maitri Cube for the Ministry of Health. The team of respective medical institutes after receiving training by the team lead by HLL will be deployed at borders of Jammu and Kashmir for the Aarogya Mandir modular emergency hospital,' said AVM Dr Tanmoy Roy, HLL Lifecare.
The BHISHM Cubes which are tailored to treat up to 200 casualties, emphasizing rapid response and comprehensive care. The BHISHM Cube is equipped with several innovative tools designed to enhance disaster response and medical support during emergencies will be deployed at Jammu and Kashmir borders.

BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita and Maitri) cubes under AAROGYA MAITRI PROJECT developed and manufactured in India, this portable hospital represents a significant advancement in emergency medical response and disaster management capabilities. BHISHM Cubes are tailored to treat up to 200 casualties, emphasizing rapid response and comprehensive care. The BHISHM Cube is equipped with several innovative tools designed to enhance disaster response and medical support during emergencies.
These cubes are Innovatively designed, compact, portable, and easy to deploy in diverse terrains and war situations. Equipped with modular units that offer facilities like surgical care, emergency treatment, and resource independence (e.g., generating power and oxygen). It is through indigenously designed and is made up of 72 detachable manicures support system.
The portable hospital can handle gunshots, burns, head, spinal cord, chest and other 200 types of injuries. It can treat more than 200 patients.
'These kits are capable of handling 200 casualties, 40 bullet injures, head injuries, abdominal injuries and 200 other injuries,' said AVM (Rtd) Dr Tanmoy Roy
'We have trained almost 300-400 doctors in few days of time for using the cubes, this training was given off-line as well as online,' he added
These portable 200 bedded hospitals will include pain relief kit, antibiotic kit, nasal bleed kit, limb amputation kit, major limb bleed kit, minor bleed kit, eye injury dressing kit, needle decompression kit, etc. (ANI)

New Delhi [India], July 28 (ANI): Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are increasingly choosing India as their destination for high-quality and affordable healthcare, according to the data released by Policybazaar. The data showed a significant 150 per cent growth in the share of NRI customers in FY 2024-25 compared to FY 2023-24, highlighting India's growing appeal in the global medical tourism space. It stated, "India is fast emerging as one of the world's most sought-after medical tourism hubs. The growth is quite visible with more NRIs turning to India to access high-quality healthcare. Our data indicates a 150 per cent overall growth in the share of NRI customers in FY 25". One of the key reasons behind this mentioned in the data report is the surge is the massive cost advantage India offers for medical treatments when compared to countries like the United States and the United Kingdom. For instance, heart bypass surgery in India costs between USD 5,000 and USD 8,000, while the same procedure in the U.S. can cost between USD 70,000 and USD 150,000. Similarly, a knee replacement surgery costs only USD 4,000 to USD 6,000 in India, compared to USD 30,000 to USD 50,000 in the U.S. A liver transplant in India is priced between USD 25,000 and USD 35,000, whereas it costs USD 300,000 to USD 500,000 in the U.S. NRIs opting for elective procedures in India typically have average claim amounts ranging from USD 2,000 to USD 15,000. For more complex surgeries, the claims may rise to USD 20,000 to USD 40,000, still representing considerable savings when compared to international healthcare costs. The affordability factor also extends to health insurance premiums. In India, the average annual health insurance premium per person ranges from USD 120 to USD 300. In contrast, the same coverage in the U.S. can exceed USD 8,000 annually, while in GCC countries, it ranges from USD 4,000 to USD 5,000. This significant difference has led to a visible increase in online searches by NRIs exploring health insurance options in India for themselves and their families. The data further reveals a 125 per cent surge in the share of women NRI customers and a 148 per cent increase in the number of NRI customers under the age of 35. This showed that younger NRIs and women are increasingly considering Indian healthcare as a preferred choice. When it comes to preferred locations for treatment, South Indian cities continue to dominate the list across all tiers. Cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, and Thane are also gaining popularity among NRI patients. Hyderabad: FormerGovernor of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, Bandaru Dattatreya, emphasized the importance of encouraging doctors who selflessly serve society. After watching the Mann Ki Baat program hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he attended and spoke at a 'Free Cancer Screening and Mega Health Camp' organized by the Dr. Shobha Memorial Charitable Trust and the Telangana PPS Medical Department on Sunday. The event took place at the Hari Kishan Eye Care & Laser Center in Bagh Lingampalli and focused on cervical, breast, and oral cancers, as well as eye health, retina issues, glaucoma, ENT, diabetes, and general medicine. Addressing the gathering, Dattatreya expressed pride in organizing such a free health camp and encouraged everyone to participate in regular cancer screening tests throughout their lives. R. Krishnaiah, a member of the Rajya Sabha, urged doctors to provide medications at lower prices, particularly for the poor. He noted that many changes are already occurring in the medical field each day. Similarly, Legislative Council member Malka Komaraiah called on doctors to take the initiative to organize health camps in other areas. TPPS State President Vishnu Murthy appealed to both politicians and the public to support selfless doctors. 4,106 panchayats TB-free, CG wins nat'l award for campaign success
Raipur: Chhattisgarh is making rapid strides towards tuberculosis (TB) elimination with declaration of 4,106 gram panchayats TB-free. Chhattisgarh also received a national award for excellent implementation of the TB-Free Gram Panchayat programme. The state is implementing a comprehensive action plan to achieve PM Narendra Modi's goal of making India TB-free by 2025. The "Nikshay-Niramay Chhattisgarh – 100-day campaign" began on Dec 7, 2024. The campaign aimed to combat TB at the grassroots level. Under the initiative, authorities identified and listed high-risk individuals through door-to-door surveys across all districts. They conducted tests using modern techniques. Public participation played a significant role in the campaign's success. The Governor, CM, and Health minister adopted TB patients and provided nutritional support as 'Nikshay Mitras'. Over 15,000 new Nikshay Mitras have registered and provided nutritional assistance to more than 34,000 patients. Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai directed authorities to focus on vulnerable sections of society often deprived of healthcare services. These include prisoners, elderly residents in old age homes, students in hostels, and factory workers. Sai stated that when govt commitment and public cooperation unite, change transforms from a goal into an achievement. Chhattisgarh is becoming a living example of this.
