Beauty that bats 1,000.
1. Glow Recipe's Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dewy Flush, which is more of a skincare serum than it is makeup! This serum blush contains jojoba-coated pigments that, yes, add a cute flush to the skin — but also help moisturize the skin deeply for a dewy, bouncy effect.
Sephora
Promising review: "LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE!! I was literally STALKING this product and got it as soon as it was early access. If you're a natural/light makeup girlie this is definitely worth it for you. I want the other color, too, lol!!! It's so glowy and gorgeous; it's definitely worth it. I have never been a Glow Recipe girl, but this is def a worth-it product." — skitty21
2. Saie's Glowy Super Gel to bring the pearl skin trend to the forefront of your beauty routine. This water-based gel is full of hydrating glycerin and squalane to plump the skin, while its reflective properties add a radiant glow to the complexion. Plus, it's super lightweight and multiuse — you can mix it into your moisturizer or foundation, use it as a primer, or quickly apply it to the body for an all-over glow!
Sephora
Promising review:"This is the best glowy primer and base! Great for my dry skin and keeps me looking healthy and glowy all day long. Highly recommend." — cs1211
3. Summer Fridays' Lip Butter Balm will wrap your lips in silky hydration that lasts for a while, thanks to shea and murumuru seed butters. It comes in a few semi-sheer colors and leaves behind a chic, glossy (no, not sticky — glossy) finish.
Sephora
4.
The Inkey List's Salicylic Acid Acne + Blackhead Cleanser so you can say goodbye to comedones once and for all. This is perfect for anyone who is looking to minimize oil production in their T-zone (thanks to salicylic acid 2%) while soothing the skin (hi, allantoin 0.5%).
Sephora
Promising review:"I love this product so much! I'm already on my third bottle, and my skin has cleared up so much." — izzy6760
5. Patrick Ta's Major Sculpt Crème Contour & Powder Bronzer Duo contains all of Patrick Ta's secrets for long-lasting wear. You're supposed to use the powder bronzer first and then "set" it with the crème contour — this creates a dewier finish than if you were to use crème then powder while still offering a bronzed-goddess-glow that lasts all day.
Sephora
Promising review:"LOVE this contour! The pigment is amazing and blends so nicely on my skin. It plays well with my other makeup and gives me a nice contour. Both the crème and the powder are AMAZING!" — CaseyMarie123
6. Makeup by Mario's Master Mattes Eyeshadow Palette: The Neutrals, because it's the first cool-toned palette that has made my jaw drop in years. This is the palette if you've done your seasonal color analysis and need something neutral for your winter or summer undertones.
Sephora

Sephora
Promising review:"This is the best hair oil I've used so far!! My hair was a bit frizzy and just not laying right one night, and I applied this hair oil, and it completely changed the look and feel of my hair! So so much better than before!" — meredith08
8. Sephora Collection's Outrageous Plump Hydrating Lip Gloss because you deserve to enjoy pillowy-soft and plump lips with a high dose of gloss and a touch of color.
Sephora
Promising review:"All-time favorite!! I keep buying this worldwide whenever I walk into Sephora! It's the perfect shade, and I use it a lot. Prefer it to some other higher end products." — lanzikens
9. Nécessaire's The Body Wash, aka everything you need to turn your showers into a spa-like experience. This body wash contains AHAs, BHAs, *and* PHAs to gently exfoliate, and calming hinoki oil to ensure skin feels nourished after every wash — not tight!
Sephora
Promising review:"I've been using the eucalyptus one for years and thought I loved it, but after this, I'm never going back. The scent is divine. I've already tried to find perfume and candles with hinoki. It also works. I had some uneven skin on my chest that's totally cleared up. New holy grail for me." — meesh22
10. Drunk Elephant's D-Bronzi Bronzing Drops with Peptides, because TikTokers can't stop raving about the otherworldly radiance they get from this product. If you want the look of a bronzy glow without the sun damage, this is the product for you.
Sephora
Promising review:"Babes, honestly buy it. Love the bronze look, and it blends perfectly with a moisturizer. Also, if you're debating over the price, it's worth it. Mine has lasted over a year I still have product left. Like, it's shocking me!" — LadyLondon4
11. Olaplex's No. 3 Hair Repair Perfector so you can restore your hair back to its natural glory! This product contains Olaplex's Bond Building Technology, which repairs bonds that break due to things like heat styling, color damage, or chemical services.
Sephora
Promising review:"If you have curly hair (mine is 3b, 3c), this is a MUST have. I had heat damage, and it brought my curls back to life! I personally keep two bottles at home at a time because it's just that good." — raquelll97
12. Youth To The People's Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial because it's what I rely on whenever I need a facial-like glow in an instant — and I'll never stop recommending it to anyone willing to listen. In a quick TWO MINUTES (you read that right), this facial uses active enzymes, micro-exfoliants, and caffeine to whisk away dead skin cells and help radiate the skin.
Sephora
Promising review:"I really love this facial scrub. I was worried that it would be too abrasive on my skin, but it wasn't. It scrubs away my dead skin without causing irritation, unlike some other similar products. I also love the smell and the way my skin feels afterward. I follow it up with a few moisturizers and my skin is glowing. Happy I gave it a try!" — Lizzy2025
13. Make Up For Ever's Artist Color Pencil so you can line your lips, fill in your brows, or create dimension around your eyes, all with the same pencil! This multiuse pencil is a makeup lover's dream and comes in a high-impact, buttery formula.
Sephora
14. Shiseido's Ultimate Sun Protector Face and Body Lotion SPF 60+ Sunscreen because protecting your skin from the sun doesn't always have to mean a white cast and gritty texture. This sunscreen glides on clear and soaks into the skin, leaving behind a radiant glow.
Sephora
Promising review:"I love this sunscreen! Goes on beautifully and blends in without a white cast. Tried cheaper ones, but nothing compares! Amazing to combat Florida sun and my sensitive Tretinoin skin." — vanillakisses
15. Merit's Great Skin Instant Glow Serum that's chock full of niacinamide and hyaluronic acid to help brighten and hydrate the skin in a few swipes. It's the perfect prep product for your five-minute makeup routine.
Sephora
Promising review: "I decided to try this based on the reviews, and I am so impressed. What a great find! I am so pleased with the results and the difference in how my skin looks. This serum leaves skin soft, smooth, and supple. It goes on easily and has no scent. I can use this with other products or alone. It truly does what it says. Love it!" — frangerine
17. Dieux's Instant Angel Lipid-Rich Barrier Repair Cream has ceramides to plump all skin types — even sensitive skin! This cream is one of my go-tos for when my thirsty, redness-prone skin is in desperate need of a surge of moisture.
Sephora
Promising review:"This is my first review ever because this product is just that amazing! I have extremely dry skin, so it's hard to find a moisturizer that works for me. This lotion is AMAZING!! And I can feel the difference!" — nx6791
18. The Ordinary's Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner, which contains glycolic acid, one of the most popular alpha-hydroxy acids to help melt away dullness and dead skin cells. To help offset any irritation, this formula includes Tasmanian pepperberry derivative plus aloe vera to help instantly soothe the skin.
Sephora
Promising review:"I love using The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner! It's been a game changer for my skincare routine, especially with helping to fade my post-acne marks. After consistent use, my skin feels smoother and more even, and the dark spots have noticeably lightened. It's gentle enough for regular use, yet effective enough to make a visible difference. Highly recommend it if you're dealing with post-acne pigmentation or just want brighter, clearer skin!" — alimka14
19. Davines' Solu Clarifying Shampoo is my absolute favorite for getting rid of gunk on my scalp and strands that accumulate throughout the week. This gorgeous-smelling formula contains buckwheat extract, which is chock full of amino acids and antioxidants to help fortify and protect your hair from environmental stressors.
Sephora
Promising reviews:"Leaves my thick color-processed hair so light and soft, and my scalp feels less oily. I wash my hair 2–3 times a week on swim days and use lots of leave-in treatments. This works way better than shampoos to dechlorinate and clarify." — LottaLei
20. Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder so you can rock #CloudSkin, no matter what. This super-fine powder helps blur the skin without looking too cakey and helps reduce oil production throughout the day!
Sephora
Promising review:"Blurs the skin beautifully and makes my skin look so smooth. Great for setting my eyes as well. Prevents creasing and stays in place all day. This is my go-to pressed powder!" — SunnyD418
21. Rare Beauty's Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, because this is one of the best blushes for adding intense color while feeling weightless on the skin. Seriously, just one teensy drop is enough to add a flush to both cheeks, and it lasts for hours.
Sephora
Promising review:"I love this blush. I usually go for powder blush, and I was scared to try liquid blush, but I'm amazed with the results. Easy to blend and has a good amount of pigment. Would highly recommend." — gursimran13
22. Laneige's Bouncy + Firm Sleeping Mask just in case slugging with Vaseline may be too much for you, but you still want something thicc to soak into your skin overnight. This mask contains a proprietary peony and collagen complex to help increase skin firmness, hydro-melt glow capsules to help support the lipid barrier, and hyaluronic acid for a boost in hydration.
Sephora
Promising review:"I struggle with keeping up with a skincare routine, so I was looking for a product to 'do it all.' I just use one other serum and this sleeping mask at night, and I wake up the next morning with soft, glowy skin. Definitely will repurchase." — tcmchelen
23. Clinque's Almost Lipstick in "black honey" that will go down in beauty history as one of the most versatile lip shades. This color looks amazing on practically everyone *and* it has an emollient-rich formula that creates a balmy, shiny finish.
Sephora
Promising review:"This is my go-to lipstick whenever I want a pretty sheer dark cherry lip. I can describe it as biting into a cherry and having residue on your lips. I love it; it's my third time buying it." — jacquelineb25
24. Ouai's St. Bart's Hair and Body Mist, because you deserve to smell like you're on a bougie vacation, even while you're stuck in your office. You can use this as the final part of your hair routine for locks that smell fresh all day, or spritz it onto your bod whenever you need a fragrance reset.
Sephora
Promising review:"Smells amazing. This product smells like you're on a private island sipping coconut water out of a coconut on the beach with a bowl of fruit sitting next to you. Very distinct smell, and I promise it lasts all day long." — beachpreppy
26. Dae's Cactus Fruit 3-in-1 Styling Cream will make it quick and easy to lay your edges or create a slicked-back bun that lasts for hours. While other waxes can leave hair feeling crunchy, this styling cream contains dragon fruit and prickly pear seed oil to help lock in moisture and create a lustrous shine.
Sephora
Promising review:"I absolutely love this wand. It does a good job of holding my thick hair back when I do hairstyles. Even when I leave my hair out, I like to run the wand on my ends to smoothen them. And it smells so good. I was thinking about what new hair perfume to buy since my Gisou perfume is running out, but I realized that this product also works as a hair scent. It's so multifunctional, making it well worth the price." — kaziana
Price: $18
27. And Dr. Jart+'s Ceramidin Skin Barrier Moisturizing Mask, because sometimes using a mask doesn't have to mean getting your fingers messy with a goopy formula. This sheet mask comes pre-soaked with ingredients like ceramide NP, glycerin, and panthenol to help nourish the skin barrier and calm the skin.
Sephora
Promising review:"This is honestly the best mask I've tried. My skin was irritated, red, and dry after trying a new exfoliator, but after this mask, my skin was instantly hydrated and glowing. This mask repaired my skin barrier within a couple of hours, and I am SO impressed with how great it improved my skin. One hundred percent a need for a compromised skin barrier." — Teynika

Adults Share Wild Childhood Misconceptions

As kids, there are many things about the world around us that simply don't make sense. Sometimes we even invent these misconceptions ourselves! And one way or another, most of us eventually realize how silly those beliefs were, even if we we don't realize it until we're adults... So recently, when I wrote a post where people shared the silly childhood beliefs they held into adulthood, I received dozens of responses from the BuzzFeed Community sharing their weirdest, wackiest, and wildest childhood notions and couldn't stop laughing. From pink cows to roaring clouds, here are 21 of their best stories: "I thought a Cheat Sheet was called a 'Cheat Cheat' until I was in my late 30s and I sent my boss and coworkers an email with the subject title and attachment both named 'Program Cheat Cheat.'" "When I heard my boss laugh out loud and say, 'Cheat Cheat,' I realized I had been saying it wrong all these years! "—Anonymous "A much older cousin once told me that if you stopped pooping mid-poop, your butthole would cut the poop in half, and the interior half would shoot directly to your brain, killing you instantly." "I was 15 years old when I discovered that star signs are not based on anything other than when you were born. I am a twin, and my sign is Gemini. My mom was a virgin until marriage, and she was a Virgo. My dad and younger sister are very mean and rude people; they are Scorpios." "When I was a kid, my mom had one rule for swimming: Get out of the water the second your fingers start to wrinkle. Why? Because if you didn't, they'd stay wrinkled FOREVER. Like, Benjamin-Button-meets-Raisinette levels of fear." "So naturally, every time we were in a pool or the sea, my siblings and I would leap out of the water like soggy little gremlins the moment we spotted a single forward 25 years: I was in my early 30s, hanging out at the beach with a friend and my mom. My friend and I went for a quick swim, and when we got out, my mom looked surprised. She asked us, 'Why so soon? You looked like you were having fun.' I, in complete seriousness, said, 'Because of our fingers. You know what happens if they stay wrinkled too long.'My mother absolutely lost it and nearly collapsed from laughter. Through her wheezing, she confessed, 'That was just the only way I could get you out of the water!''—currywurst8 "As a kid, I had straight hair, but I always loved curly hair. One day, my dad told me that since the crust slice of a loaf of bread was curled, if I always ate the crust, I would have curly hair. I believed that for about 10 years. " "I grew up in Florida, so I didn't have much experience with trees that changed color and lost their leaves. I didn't realize that different kinds of trees turn the same color whenever they change. I thought that trees 'chose' a color they liked every year." "As a young adult, I was having oral surgery and high on nitrous oxide. While free associating on the theme of dentistry, I remembered being in the dentist chair when I was, maybe, six or seven years old. The dentist asked me, very seriously, if I wanted a 'Mickey Mouse filling' or a 'Donald Duck filling.' I was adamant that it had to be Mickey — Donald was loud and unpleasant, I didn't want him in my mouth!" "Obligingly, the dentist said to his assistant, 'Would you please mix up a Mickey Mouse filling for this young man?' She did so, and he squeezed it into my tooth. It wasn't until that day, when I was perhaps 25, that I ever thought of it again and realized that there had never been Mickey Mouse fillings! My first, shocked, reaction was, 'He lied to me!' After those two seconds, it was very funny."—Anonymous, 75 Dallas, TX "I thought the clouds made loud roaring sounds when the wind blew between them or if they moved." "I always thought musical groups and bands lived together in the same house. It never crossed my mind they might have spouses or children, and I was fully an adult before that thought crossed my mind." "I thought pheasants were extinct. My grandma told me that the kings of England hunted them and ate them so much that they went extinct. Day one of studying in the UK and I saw a weird and behold, a pheasant. I took a picture of it and sent it to my mom." "The conversation went like this: 'Mom, I found this weird bird on campus. Didn't the kings of England eat them?' She texted back, 'Yes, but that doesn't make them extinct.'"—Anonymous, 25, Guatemala-UK "I thought actors were wearing a super thin layer of plastic on their lips during make-out scenes because I couldn't fathom kissing someone you weren't at least engaged to." "My mom always told me her poop didn't stink. One day, in my late twenties, I walked by her bathroom and noticed a smell. I asked if she had just 'used' the bathroom, and she said, 'Yes?'" "Not me, but my mother-in-law always told my husband that dragonflies would sew a person's eyes shut if they let them get too close. When he first told me, I laughed and said, 'I've never heard of that, and it isn't true. Are they going to sew your hands behind your back first?'" "I think he believed it until we were at the lake early one summer, napping in the sun, when he woke me up to show me about a dozen dragonflies resting on my legs."—Anonymous, 63, Texas "When I was young, my parents told me whipped cream would only come out of the can if you pushed both red dots over the two 'I's' in Reddi Whip at the same time, so they would hold the can upside down so I could press the dots." "I thought chocolate milk came from brown cows. I lost my ever-loving mind the first time my mom gave me strawberry milk and demanded she take me to see the pink cows immediately! I was sad to learn I was wrong." "When I was little, Labyrinth was my favorite movie. Those who've watched the movie will remember how Jareth set a timer for 13 hours. When I watched that, I asked my mom why that clock had a 13 on it, and instead of explaining to me that it was a timer, she told me that clocks in England have 13 hours on them.' "And I just believed that for an embarrassingly long time."—[deleted] "I didn't know about the digestive process, so I thought that the food you ate just sort of filled up your body. I remember looking at myself one day and thinking that I had probably eaten enough food so that I was filled up to my knees, and I should slow down if I wanted to make it to adulthood." "Growing up, my parents drank their coffee black and strong enough to slice. It wasn't until I was in my 30s that I realized I could drink my coffee weak and drowning in cream and sugar. I never liked the taste of coffee, and even now, I think black coffee is vile." "Whenever my family would order pizza during my early childhood years, I thought the delivery person would come into our house and have a slice of pizza with us. I would always invite them in, and I was crushed every time that did not happen." "I used to think those floodlights/spotlights that are used to advertise events like grand openings were like carnival rides, and people could strap into a seat on top of them and touch the clouds. (I was also convinced that clouds tasted like cotton balls!)" "My grandma used to tell me that she had a magic telescope and could see everything I did, and that she would check up on me regularly to see if I behaved." Which one of these beliefs was your favorite? Did you hold any childhood misconceptions into adulthood? Tell us in the comments or answer anonymously using the form below!
