The AFL grand final is seven weeks away - but airlines are already being accused of RIPPING OFF fans of one famous club

Footy fans have fumed at several airlines after multiple carriers have upped their prices for flights into Melbourne ahead of this year's Grand Final on Saturday, September 27.
Specifically, Adelaide Crows fans, hoping their side might reach their first Grand Final at the MCG since 2017, could be forced to pay hefty air fares if they're looking to travel to Melbourne on the eve of the showpiece event.
Matthew Nicks' side are flying high as we head into the final three regular-season matches, with the Crows having won six matches on the bounce, which culminated this weekend in their massive 101-87 victory against Hawthorn.
While they sit joint top of the league, tied on 60 points with the Crows, the club's fans are preparing for the possible eventuality that they could be in for a trip to Melbourne for Grand Final day.
While there is a long way to go for the Crows, who haven't won a premiership since 1998, and also haven't qualified for finals in eight years, some fans have been left aggrieved at the shocking prices some airlines are charging to get from the City of Churches to Melbourne around Grand Final weekend.
On Friday, September 26, the day before the big match, Virgin Australia is offering economy tickets to fly from Adelaide to Melbourne Tullamarine, with the lowest-priced seats coming in at $250.
Economy fares on two flights at 8:40am and 11:50am are both on sale for $791 - the top priced figures.
Qantas has also upped its fees on Grand Final eve, with economy tickets for flights leaving Adelaide at 10:05am and 12:15pm set to cost Crows fans $785.
The airline is also offering fares on Thursday, September 25. The top-priced economy fare for that day is set to also set fans back $437.
Jetstar has priced its top fares on Grand Final eve at $350.
One Crows fan told Seven News: 'It just ruins what should be one of the best days of the season.'
'Make the people happy, let them get over there. It's about going over for the Grand Final or a final and having a ball,' another fan said.
Crows fan and mum of two, Kim Skypyrek, said the fees were 'insane'.
'Fair enough if it's one person and they've saved some money but it's really hard for people to be able to afford that,' she told Northern Territory News.

'If it came down to it we'd just send my husband (Michael) and our son (Ambrose) so that they could go and enjoy it.'
But there are other ways fans can get to the footy and dodge the high air fares.
Fans can take the train, but that entails an 11-hour journey and is likely to cost around $150.
Meanwhile, other fans are arranging their own transport and will embark on an eight-hour trip via bus to Melbourne, should the Crows reach the final.
'A group of twelve of us can drive over, hire a bus and rent out a house cheaper than [the cost of] flights for four,' Skypyrek added.
'Regardless of who's in it, whether we get to go into the grand final or not, we just want to be in Melbourne for the weekend and experience it.'

Former All Blacks winger Bridge signs with Western Force

MELBOURNE, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Former New Zealand winger George Bridge has signed a two-year deal with Western Force and will return to Super Rugby next season, ending a three-year stint in French rugby. Bridge scored 12 tries in 19 tests for the All Blacks and played in the 2019 World Cup in Japan before heading abroad to play for Top 14 side Montpellier in 2022. The 30-year-old will replace Wallabies winger Harry Potter who left the Perth-based Force to join the New South Wales Waratahs. Bridge, who can also play fullback, was part of Scott Robertson's powerful Canterbury Crusaders from 2017-22, helping the South Island team win four Super Rugby titles and the domestic Super Rugby Aotearoa championship twice. "George is well known to a number of people on our staff and they can't speak highly enough of his professionalism, approach to the game and his rugby knowledge," Force coach Simon Cron said in a statement on Tuesday. "He's got a massive left foot kick. He can play multiple positions. He's a brilliant player. An amazing talent. He'll add to the guys that we have in the squad." The Force, who have never made the playoffs in any variant of Super Rugby since joining in 2006, managed only four wins last season and finished ninth in the 11-team competition. Bridge's former team, the Crusaders, won a record-extending 15th Super Rugby title.

Kmart Australia has just launched a 'very ugly' $49 travel buy that solves a problem we ALL face on a plane

An awkward-looking travel item has been hailed as a genius solution to a common long-haul flight problem. Holidaymakers are flocking to Kmart Australia stores after the budget retailer recently launched their $49 Bluetooth Travel Pillow Headphones. Although unsightly when worn, the tech travel item has been praised for combining the supportive qualities of a neck travel pillow with built-in Bluetooth headphone capability. The clever item resolves the common issue of trying to juggle wearing a neck pillow and wireless Bluetooth headphones at the same time - without the two travel essentials often knocking or interfering with one another. The must-have is described as a 'fusion of premium comfort and cutting-edge audio experience' that will 'redefine your travel experience'. Importantly, the Bluetooth headphones offer a potential 30 hours of play time when used at 80 per cent volume. This means there's no need to worry about the headphones running out of battery mid-flight. The tech travel item is charged via a USB cable, with one included with the device. It takes approximately two hours to fully charge. A small control panel on the right side of the neck pillow features the power, volume adjust and Bluetooth pairing buttons. The Kmart Bluetooth Travel Pillow Headphones, $49 are soft and cushioned, with an under-chin strap to ensure a snug fit. There is a small control panel for the headphones on the right side of the pillow The dimensions of the combo headphone and neck pillow are 19cm height, 21cm width and 21cm diameter. The cushioned pillow also features an adjustable (and amusing) under-chin strap, so that it fits snugly and offers quality neck support. The headphones themselves are also encased in a soft ear pad, ensuring the ears are cupped for both sound quality and comfort. Travellers can also rest assured as they come with a 12 month manufacturer warranty. A Kmart store worker recently highlighted some of her other favourite travel essentials in a video shared to the brand's TikTok account. One of the store worker's top picks was the 3-Piece Packing Cubes, priced at only $8. The female employee explained in the video that the different sized cubes were perfect to help you 'maximise storage in your suitcase'. Made of polyester, each of the packing cubes has an open mesh design with zip closure and carry handle. The suitcase storage saver has a 4.2 star rating on the brand's website, with many jet-setters raving about how it helps keep your luggage 'tidy and sorted'. One reviewer was pleased with the way the cases were able to 'compress clothes into taking up much less room' inside their suitcase. The other travel item highlighted in the recent social media video was the Anko Universal Travel Adapter Kit. The $39 item is described as 'the only travel adaptor you will need in your suitcase,' according to the online product description. The travel gadget has two USB A sockets and two USB C sockets, as well as two main outlets. It also comes with four interchangeable adaptor plugs to enable your electronic devices to be plugged in while visiting the US, UK, Japan, Europe, Bali and Hong Kong. The Kmart employee also made mention of the travel adaptor coming with a drawstring storage bag, allowing you to neatly store all of the adaptors together without losing any of them. 'Handy for travelling between different countries. Small enough to fit in your hand luggage,' read one of the many five-star reviews of the Kmart adaptor.
