Sarah Michelle Gellar pays emotional tribute to Shannen Doherty
The 48-year-old actress has taken to social media to share some memories of her showbiz pal, who died of cancer on July 13, 2024, aged 53.
Sarah took to Instagram to share a series of throwback photos of the pair posing for the camera, captioning the post with a broken-heart emoji.
The Hollywood star's carousel of photographs was set to the sound of See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in 2015, and she passed away last year following a lengthy battle with the disease.
News of Shannen's passing was announced by Leslie Sloan, her publicist.
Leslie said in a statement given to Us Weekly at the time: "It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease."
Meanwhile, Kelly Ripa - another of Shannen's showbiz friends - previously revealed that the actress knew "her time was very, very limited" in the weeks before she died.
The TV star interviewed Shannen on her Let's Talk Off Camera podcast in June 2024, and she admitted that their final conversations left her "crushed" because her pal was so aware of her own mortality.
Recalling how she was "constantly" trying to set Shannen up on dates, Kelly told Entertainment Tonight: "I always had an idea in my mind as to who might be a good match with Shannen.
"But the last conversation, she actually said to me, 'I'm kind of a tough sell because I don't have a lot of time left.'
"So that, I think, is what I took away, that I was crushed that she seemed to know that her time was very, very limited."
Despite her sadness, Kelly found "peace" in knowing the actress is finally free of pain.
She added: "I will say, she was telling me about her treatments and it was so brutal and painful. It sounds very glib but the fact she's no longer in pain — physical pain — provides everyone that knew and loved her with a little peace."

Aussie fractures skull after cliff dive goes wrong
A young Aussie daredevil from Newcastle has suffered horrific injuries after jumping off the top of a 42.5 metre waterfall in a world record attempt. Vali Graham is a self-proclaimed 'Athlete, Artist, Traveller' and a keen døds (also known as death diving) enthusiast. On June 11, he attempted to break the current record from the top of Minnehaha Falls in the Blue Mountains. In a video posted on social media, the 21-year-old is seen hyping himself up for the jump before leaping off and spinning as he free-falls, hitting the water in an awkward 'pike' position. Australian photographer @lostmtns revealed that Graham sustained a fractured skull, back, concussion and burst ear drum as a result of the mis-judged jump. A few days later, Graham updated his followers on social media on his miraculous recovery. 'Update: 'God gives us the gift of suffering' after sending this monster 42.5m cliff I was knocked unconscious . . .after regaining consciousness I pulled myself out of the water and walked a steep 1.2km out to our car where my friends took me to hospital' he wrote. Graham also explained the details of the surgery he had gone through. 'The support was amazing, I've had surgery on my back and sternum and was walking 2 days after surgery, 'I am honestly mentally feeling amazing, ready to rebuild my body better than ever and come back stronger, a long way to go but excited for the journey' he said. Credit: Instagram / @philosophyofsend Many of Graham's followers were blown away by the sheer scale of the 42.5 meter jump which is around the height of a 13 storey building. 'Beyond comprehension how he does that,' someone commented. 'Full credit to him he deserves the world record,' another wrote. Others were quick to point out that he was putting himself at serious risk. ''Grateful for God' dude you jumped from the height of a 13 storey building and now my taxes have to pay for your dumb choices,' one person commented. 'God didn't give you that suffering, you did that yourself,' another said.

Jelena Dokic hard launches new relationship
Australian tennis icon Jelena Dokic has finally gone public with her new boyfriend Yane Veselinov. The much-loved commentator hard launched the new relationship on Instagram. The couple had previously been photographed together in May, but hadn't confirmed the romance publicly until now. Dokic, 42, posted a photo of herself with Veselinov, writing: 'You are my calm, safe, peaceful and happy place. So glad I found you.❤️' The post was quickly flooded with likes and comments from her adoring fans. Dokic has gone public with her new boyfriend. Credit: Instagram 'Oh YAYYYYYY!!!! So happy for you xxxx you deserve all the joy and happiness life has to offer,' one fan wrote. 'This makes me so happy! You deserve all the happiness in the world Jelena!' Another said. 'You seem very happy. All the best Jelena x,' another wrote. 'So happy to see you happy,' another said. Dokic was previously in a 19-year relationship with Tin Bikic that ended in 2021. Since then she has rebuilt her life (she has previously stated that she was a mess after their romance ended) and undergone a huge transformation, both mentally and physically. The story about the abuse she suffered from her late father Damir, who died last month, has also been detailed in the series Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story. Dokic, who just wrapped up two weeks of commentating at Wimbledon for Channel 9, recently opened up on her desire to be a mum. Despite her own tumultuous upbringing as a child and a young woman that left her forever mentally scarred, Dokic said she has so much love to give. 'I actually think I would be a good mum, to be honest,' Dokic said on the podcast Mental As Anyone. 'I love kids.' But, despite that, Dokic sadly admits that her parenting dream may never be realised. 'I don't think that that's going to happen for me,' she said. 'I was in a relationship for almost 19 years from the age of 20 and right up to when we split up, we were about to start trying for a family.' Dokic said that the abuse she received throughout her life never crushed her maternal instincts. Surprisingly, she said it might have even nourished them. 'Even 15 years ago, when I was 25, I always said, 'I want to have kids, but I want to adopt',' she said. 'Maybe it comes from when you grow up maybe in a home that's fractured and with pain and you go, maybe I can give something different to a kid that I know maybe will have the same, or they won't have parents or something like that. 'So I always felt like I wanted to do that for at least one kid in the world. 'That's a big kind of wish of mine and passion and I hope to do it one day. 'Did I at one stage maybe think, I didn't have the best experience and know a lot of people with parents and having that childhood and what would that mean for me? 'Because I know a lot people that have been through family violence or abuse, domestic violence, however you want to frame it, they are worried about that, whether they would be the same or if there's something there.' >> Sign up to our daily newsletter to get all the biggest sports stories delivered into your inbox Dokic said she would consider adopting a child, with or without a father. '(But I'd) love it to have a father as well,' she said. 'I know that I can give it absolutely everything and would have all the love and support and I would be completely different and … I could never be that (like my father) ever. 'I know that yes, obviously, it's a challenge, which I would love. I would embrace it and take it on. 'I just love kids so much. I know I would be a bloody good mum and I know I would give it the love in the world of a million people. 'I have so much love to give.'

Gina Rodriguez pregnant
Gina Rodriguez is pregnant. The 40-year-old actress - who already has son Charlie, two, with husband Joe LoCicero - walked the red carpet for Netflix's Katie Taylor Vs. Amanda Serrano fight at New York's Madison Square Garden on Friday (11.07.25) night in a close-fitting black floral dress that showed off her bump. Gina and Joe, 38, embraced as they posed for photos together, with the Jane the Virgin star cradled her stomach proudly. And on Sunday (13.07.25), Gina revealed she is expecting a baby girl. She shared a photo on Instagram, in which she wore loose grey trousers and a lemon-print short top, and wrote: "Baby girl coming thru!!! We are so excited for you lil mama.(sic)" The Someone Great actress previously admitted she was "afraid" to have a second child because she would feel guilty at taking attention away from Charlie. Asked about having another baby, she told People magazine: "It's gonna happen anyways, so I'm not trying to force it sooner than it needs to. "I'm afraid to have a second because of how much I love this guy. I already feel guilty about not being available to him at all times." When Charlie turned one last year, Gina and Joe went all out and threw a "rager" to mark the occasion. The actress said on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she said: "We had a rager. It was basically his first wedding. It felt right, on the worst day of the entire [week], but that didn't stop us. "It was indoors and half outdoors. Everything I planned was outside and so about five days prior I was like, 'I'm getting tents. Nobody's going to stop me,' and we had tents and it was great." Gina even had "Charlie merch" produced, badges made from her "favourite pictures of [her] little man". Handing one to the talk show host, she laughed: "I went a bit far. "We expect you to wear it nightly, but it's not a big deal." The Players star has been wowed by her husband's commitment to fatherhood. She told 'Entertainment Tonight': "It means absolutely everything. "I'm able to do the things that I love and be with my son 24/7 because he has him on set. Also, to see your husband with his boy and just be there for every single milestone and to take away that much desire that he may have outside of everything, I owe it all to my husband."
