Enforcement directorate attaches assets worth ₹681 crore of Ramprastha group

A provisional order has been issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) in a case against Ramprastha Promoters and Developers Pvt Ltd (RDDPL) and its group companies, the federal agency said in a statement.
The attached properties include plotted colonies of Ramprastha City measuring 226 acres in Sectors 37D, Sector 92 and 95 in Gurugram and land parcels measuring 1,700 acres in Basai, Gadoli Kalan, Hayatpur and Wazipur in Gurugram.
The total value of these assets is 681.54 crore, the agency said.
Neither the company nor its directors could be contacted for a response to the ED action against them.
The money laundering case stems from multiple FIRs filed by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi and Haryana Police based on complaints of numerous homebuyers against RPDPL and its promoters, like Arvind Walia, Balwant Chaudhary and Sandeep Yadav, for their "failure" to deliver promised flats and plots within the promised timeframes, the ED said.
Probe found, the ED said, that various projects of RPDPL, such as Project Edge, Project Skyz, Project Rise and Ramprastha City (in various sectors of Gurugram) were launched during 2008-2011 and possession of flats/plotted lands are yet to be given even after lapse of more than 14-17 years.
The company collected about Rs 1,100 crore from more than 2,000 homebuyers for the said projects, but the promoters and directors of the company "diverted" these funds to its group companies as advances for purchase of land parcels, etc, instead of using them for completion of promised homes, it said.

RSRTC floats tender for third time to buy electric buses
Jaipur: The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has issued a tender for the third time to procure electric vehicle buses. The corporation plans to acquire 300 electric buses which are to be deployed on routes within the National Capital Region (NCR). Officials said that electric buses will be taken on contract, and bus operators will be paid up to Rs 60 per km. Before this, tenders were invited in Dec 2024 and May 2025. Officials added that the tender for 300 buses is two-fold: one with the infrastructure for charging the buses and the second without charging infrastructure. The corporation aims to procure a total of 900 EVs, which will replace the existing diesel-based fleet used for these routes. For the initial 300 buses, RSRTC has floated the tender, said officials. "Due to the two-fold nature of the tender, we have not received bids as expected till now. The tender has been floated for the 300 EVs that were announced in the state budget. By next month, we'll be able to understand what the response of the bidders is," said a senior official. Jodhpur police arrest absconding drug smuggler after six years
Jodhpur: The Cycloner team of Jodhpur Range Police succeeded in arresting a wanted smuggler carrying a cash reward of Rs 35,000 Sunday. Absconding for the past six years, the accused, Magaram, was operating a smuggling network in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Range IG Vikas Kumar said Magaram used to bring 4 to 5 consignments of narcotics each month from MP to the Marwar region. In 2019, while transporting 8 quintals of poppy husk, he abandoned his vehicle and fled when surrounded by police near Pachpadra police station. Illegal weapons and opium were recovered from the vehicle, leading to a case being registered against him under the NDPS Act. In 2023, RGT police caught him again while transporting poppy husk in a Scorpio vehicle. However, after being released on bail, he resumed his smuggling activities. Kumar said the team received information that Magaram was heading towards Gujarat in a truck after making a payment at a petrol pump. Acting on the tip-off, the team tracked him to Kadodara village in Surat, Gujarat. "Eventually, they caught Magaram while he was having a meal at a hotel near the village. When questioned, Magaram initially gave a fake name and address, but under strict interrogation, he revealed his true identity and confessed everything," said Kumar.

Man poses as Union Home min's advisor to blackmail woman, held
Jaipur: City police arrested a 26-year-old man Sunday who was defrauding a woman by posing as an advisor to Union Home minister Amit Shah. The accused, identified as Neeraj Kumar Sharma, was threatening and blackmailing the woman, and demanding Rs 15 lakh of her. The airport police arrested the fake advisor and seized the jewellery and the SUV used in the crime. The accused had previous fraud cases in Jaipur for impersonating RAS and IPS officers. Police said that Sharma, a resident of Karauli, was a resident of Durga Colony, Jawahar Circle in Jaipur. The woman filed a report against Neeraj Kumar on Saturday. In her complaint against Sharma, the victi said that about a month ago, she befriended a man named Deepak Sharma on Facebook who claimed to be an advisor to the Union Home Minister. He frequently messaged her, claiming his father was a police officer and his brother an IPS officer in Goa. She alleged that the accused deceitfully took her diamond necklace and bracelet, threatening to have her abducted by criminals if she told anyone. The accused boasted of having several relatives who are police officers, claiming she couldn't harm him.
