For David Bowie superfans, now is your opportunity to nose around the place the star called home before Ziggy Stardust was even a twinkle in his eye.
The star's childhood home has gone on the market for £429,000, and if you play your cards right, there could be an chance to make a £107,000 profit. David Robert Jones, was six years old when the future chameleon of rock lived in Bromley with his family, back when the London suburb was still part of Kent.
The modest two-bedroom house is nothing special from the outside. It has a spacious garden, light rooms and is well-located near Bickley station. But the magic and money lies in its history. "This house has been in my family for a long period of time," the current owner, Victoria Bulford, told House Beautiful.
Indeed, her grandparents remember meeting Bowie as a young child, watching him play with a stick in the garden as the adults toured the house. "When my grandparents went to view the property many moons ago, they met with Mr and Mrs Jones of 106 Canon Road and took along their six-year-old son – my Dad – who remembers clearly playing in the backyard with David Bowie whilst the adults were inside.
The next owner will be able to apply for an iconic commemorative blue plaque to commemorate Bowie's old family home, adding significant value to the property. The next owner will be able to do this in the next ten years, a small time to wait to declare ownership on this slice of British history.

Love Island voting figures reveal shockingly close results after Toni and Cach's win
Toni Laites and Cach Mercer managed to emerge as the nation's favourite couple from the latest series of Love Island and now ITV2 has released voting data from the final New voting figures for Love Island have revealed just how much Toni Laites and Cach Mercer managed to win by. The couple emerged victorious on the latest series of the ITV2 dating show, and beat fellow finalists Harry Cooksley and Shakira Khan, as well as Yasmin Pettet and Jamie Rhodes, to the £50,000 prize. Now, figures reported on the show's official Instagram page have revealed that the TV stars managed to win with 33.5% of the public vote, whilst Harry and Shakira were quite a bit behind as they pulled in 26.2% of it. This left third-place Islanders Yas and Jamie with a solid 22% of it, whilst fourth-place contestants Angel Swift and Ty Isherwood with 18%. It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025. The pair looked shocked upon learning of their big win, and when Maya asked US native Toni if she had any words for the British public, she held back tears and screamed: "Yeah, I love you guys!" Viewers were quick to flood social media with their reactions, with one writing: "There you have winners Congratulations to Cach and Toni our American princess took the crown and our handsome and most gentleman we have this year." Another said: "They went from strangers to soulmates," and embellished their comment with a tears emoji and a red heart, whilst a third said: "Toni and Cach are such a deserving couple. Cach taught Toni the bare minimum she should expect in treatment from a man and Toni taught Cach that pride can sometimes stop you getting what you want. I'm here for it." Cach and Toni first laid eyes on each other during Casa Amor, and although they struck up an instant connection, it was obvious Toni's heart was still with Harrison. Harrison, however, had shared kisses with Helena in the main villa, leaving Toni with no option to explore, adamant that Harrison would be doing the same. Of course, he did as he returned to the main villa with Lauren. The pair were glued to each other's hips, but Harrison continued to have flirty conversations with Toni. Harrison then persuaded Toni to couple up with him at the next recoupling, leaving Cach in tears in scenes that moved the nation. However, when Lauren was dumped from the villa, Harrison told his fellow Islanders that he saw himself being in a relationship with Lauren on the outside. As Harrison made his exit, Cach found it in his heart to forgive Toni, despite trying to get to know Billykiss at the same time. However, it looked like his family made need a little bit more convincing. Cut to the final week, and the couple couldn't have been happier despite all the tests and challenges thrown at them with Cach even telling (not asking) Toni to become exclusive with him. Although the pair reside across the Atlantic from each other, Toni has made it clear that she has no problems moving to London. During the final, the four finalists got all dressed up for one final meal together, and eventual runners-up Harry and Shakira reflected on their journey as a couple together throughout the series. She told him: "Doing this experience without you and watching things unfold was so hard because I felt so strongly towards you. You're everything I could possibly want in a partner. It's been an amazing last week and I'm excited for the future." Prior to coupling up with Shakira, Harry had a l ong-standing romance with Helena Ford and then his ex-girlfriend Emma Munro made a shock entrance to the villa before leaving in the weeks leading up to the final. Shakira was initially coupled up with Harry in the early weeks of the competition, but they got together again just days ahead of the final and he told her: "I came in here and thought it would be a lot of fun. Finding you in a Villa in Mallorca was not on my bingo card this summer. I do regret taking too long to tell you how I felt. We both know this is more than surface level - I think it always has been for me."

Greggs and KFC team up to launch sausage roll drenched in gravy
The high street food giants have worked together for the first time to offer the Greggs sausage roll with KFC gravy, claiming it is the 'mash-up the nation's been craving' and 'seriously flavoursome'. The brands said the alliance followed Britons consuming 15,000 litres of KFC gravy and more than one million Greggs sausage rolls every day over the past year. They are taking the new combination on a three-day tour from Thursday, handing it out for free in London on August 7, followed by Manchester on August 8 and Newcastle on August 9. A sharing bucket including six Greggs sausage rolls and a large tub of KFC gravy will be available for £10 on Friday August 15 and Saturday August 16 through Uber Eats in London, Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham. KFC brand manager Phoebe Syms said: 'At KFC, we bleed gravy. We go to obsessive lengths for our liquid gold, and so do our fans. 'In fact, it was them who inspired this once-in-a-lifetime event, calling for us to partner with Greggs and unite our iconic gravy with their iconic sausage rolls. 'Now we're joining forces for just a few days to give the people a taste of what they really want … it's time for gravy to meet pastry. You're welcome.' Fiona Mills, brand communications lead at Greggs, said: 'With 96 layers of light puff pastry, and perfectly baked to give that satisfying golden crisp and flaky goodness, we've always known our sausage rolls are a true British icon. And why not pair one icon with another? 'We can't wait to see what Greggs and KFC fans make of our latest partnership. We're sure fans of both brands will enjoy devouring their Greggs x KFC sharing bucket.' The tour will stop at London's Southbank Centre on Thursday, followed by Manchester's Cathedral Gardens on Friday and then Newcastle's Times Square, all between 12pm and 5pm, with supplies available on a first come, first served basis. Last week, Greggs revealed a slump in profits as it was knocked by hot weather and caution among shoppers over their finances. The Newcastle-based business revealed that pre-tax profits fell by 14.3% to £63.5 million for the half-year to June 28, compared with a year earlier. It said the first half of 2025 was impacted by 'challenging market footfall, more weather disruption than in 2024' and increased costs.

Greggs and KFC launch 'culinary crossover of the century' - and for some it's free
Two of Britain's best known takeaway chains have combined a couple of their famous dishes for a limited special calling it the 'mash-up the nation's been craving' and 'seriously flavoursome' Greggs and KFC have teamed up to create what they're calling the 'culinary crossover of the century' - a sausage roll drenched in gravy. The high street food giants have worked together for the first time to offer Greggs' famous sausage roll with KFC's gravy, calling it the 'mash-up the nation's been craving' and 'seriously flavoursome'. They are taking the new combination on a three-day tour from Thursday this week, handing it out for free in London on August 7, followed by Manchester on August 8 and Newcastle on August 9. It came as Greggs has also launched a £4 breakfast meal deal that comes with a bonus item. A sharing bucket including six Greggs sausage rolls and a large tub of KFC gravy will be available for £10 on Friday August 15 and Saturday August 16 through Uber Eats in London, Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham. There is no word about what the calorie content of the combo is, however. KFC brand manager Phoebe Syms said: 'At KFC, we bleed gravy. We go to obsessive lengths for our liquid gold, and so do our fans. In fact, it was them who inspired this once-in-a-lifetime event, calling for us to partner with Greggs and unite our iconic gravy with their iconic sausage rolls. We're sure fans of both brands will enjoy devouring their Greggs x KFC sharing bucket.' The tour will stop at London's Southbank Centre on Thursday, followed by Manchester's St Anne's Square on Friday and then Newcastle's Times Square, all between 12pm and 5pm, with supplies available on a first come, first served basis. Greggs took to social media earlier in the day to tease fans about what might be to come. On both Instagram and TikTok, Greggs shared a brief video of one of its iconic sausage rolls being held up in front of a KFC restaurant's sign to the sounds of The Sundays' track Summertime and the line: "It's you and me in the summertime." In addition, Greggs added a caption: "Oddly satisfying. Is this a sign?" Writing in response on Instagram, one user pondered: "KFC inspired Chicken bake? Instead of creamy sauce in the current chicken bake it'll be KFC gravy? A KFC and gravy style bake? I'm invested." Greggs has previous form when it comes to using social media to drive sales. In 2019, its vegan sausage roll proved a massive hit after a clever marketing campaign. The firm could do with a boost after it last week revealed a slump in profits as it was knocked by hot weather and caution among shoppers over their finances. The Newcastle-based business revealed that profits fell by 14.3% to £63.5million for the half-year to June 28, compared with a year earlier.
