Hassona, a 25-year photojournalist who based in Gaza, was killed with her family by an Israeli missile that targeted her building in April, just a day after the film had been selected for Cannes.
In the film, it was revealed that Farsi and Hassona had spoken about the possibility of her leaving Gaza and attending the festival.
On the first day of Cannes, Hassona was named in a letter signed by more than 370 industry figures that condemned her death and also criticized 'silence' from the cinema industry over Gaza.
Signed by names such as Mark Ruffalo, Guy Pearce, Ralph Fiennes, Melissa Barrera, Yorgos Lanthimos, Javier Bardem, Hannah Einbinder, Pedro Almodóvar, David Cronenberg, Alfonso Cuarón, Mike Leigh, Alex Gibney, Viggo Mortensen, Cynthia Nixon, Tessa Ross and many more, the letter also called out AMPAS for its 'lack of support' for 'No Other Land' co-director Hamdan Ballal after his arrest by the Israeli army.
'We are ashamed of such passivity,' it read, concluding: 'For Fatma, for all those who die in indifference. Cinema has a duty to carry their messages, to reflect our societies. Let's act before it's too late.'
After the news of Hassona's death, the ACID team put out a statement
'Her smile was as magical as her tenacity: bearing witness, photographing Gaza, distributing food despite the bombs, mourning and hunger. We heard her story, rejoiced at each of her appearances to see her alive, we feared for her,' it said.
'We had watched and programmed a film in which this young woman's life force seemed like a miracle. This is no longer the same film that we are going to support and present in all theaters, starting with Cannes. All of us, filmmakers and spectators alike, must be worthy of her light.'

And Just Like That... it's time to turn another page in Carrie Bradshaw's diary. The divisive and nostalgia-ridden Sex and the City spinoff series will conclude with season 3, which is currently airing on HBO Max. Episode 12 will land on Aug. 14 and serve as the series finale. It's with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.' Parker posted a moving tribute to Carrie on her Instagram. 'Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte, there will never be better friends and what great fortune for Carrie to come to know and love Seema and LTW, most divine new connections,' she wrote. She continued, 'Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all... MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete. AJLT was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us. I am better for every single day I spent with you. It will be forever before I forget. The whole thing. Thank you all. I love you so. I hope you love these final two episodes as much as we all do.' Bernthal's 'The Bear' co-star Liza Colón-Zayas is also joining 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' as is 'Stranger Things' standout Sadie Sink. 'Lois & Clark' star Dean Cain enjoyed being objectified as Superman: 'It's a wonderful compliment'
Cain played the Man of Steel for four years on the ABC adventure comedy series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." Superman's skin-tight super-suit for Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman might have bothered other actors, but star Dean Cain says he loved the attention it brought him. Reminiscing on the years he was treated like not much more than an expensive piece of meat, Cain recently remarked to Variety, "Any guy who tells you he feels bad being objectified, I mean, really? Come on... It's a wonderful compliment." Cain described his four seasons seasons shooting the ABC action-adventure series as one part pain, and the other, pleasure. "Teri Hatcher and I were making out all the time in beds, half clothes on, half off," he said of his costar, who played Lois Lane, the coworker/love interest to his Clark Kent/Superman. But on the other end of the spectrum, things weren't so nice. "It came down to myself and Kevin Sorbo for Superman," he said. "I had to come back to audition with 10 different Lois Lanes. I remember faces. I was in fight-or-flight mode. I was trying to survive." Once he got the job, new challenges presented themselves. First there was that super-suit - "I remember it being 110 in Burbank. In the Superman suit, you can't sweat. If you sweat, it balls up. So I didn't I'm a Japanese dude. I don't sweat that much. I'm not hairy at all. They didn't have to shave my chest or anything. But still..." Then there were all the stunts required for the flying scenes. Due to the rigid wires used to suspend Cain and Hatcher, the actor recalled, "There's no blood flow going to your legs. After hanging for hours, I would have to get a massage just to keep the blood moving from quadrant to quadrant. Teri would cry. She'd be in tears every single time we had to fly because it hurt."Cain was cast in Lois & Clark in 1993, not long after he'd signed a freelance contract to play football with the Buffalo Bills straight out of college. After small parts on series like A Different World and Beverly Hills, 90210, Cain landed the role of a lifetime, one he said "changed my life insanely." Lois & Clark was a hit, establishing him as a major Hollywood star, though he's always found ways to make his way back to the Superman franchise. Cain landed a guest role on Superman origin series Smallville's seventh season as Dr. Curtis Knox, and appeared on several episodes of Supergirl's first and second seasons as the titular heroine's foster father. Cain isn't entirely pleased with the direction the franchise has taken since his time in the role, however. He's been a vocal critic of James Gunn's new vision of the last son of Krypton, Superman, specifically for being too "woke." "How woke is Hollywood going to make this character?" he asked earlier this month. "How much is Disney going to change their Snow White?
