Priyanka Chopra Jonas' daughter thinks she's a princess
The 42-year-old actress described Malti Marie - who she has with husband Nick Jonas - as "such a girly girl" and a huge fan of princesses, in particular the titular character from the 2016 movie Moana and its 2024 sequel, and she introduces herself with an extra moniker in tribute to her idol.
Speaking on Good Morning America, Priyanka said: "She introduces herself as Malti Marie Moana Chopra Jonas. She insists she's Moana. She insists it's her name, like officially her name in school. She says, 'I'm Malti Marie Moana.' "
The Heads of State star's daughter loves to play dress up in Priyanka's closet.
She said: "She loves coming into my closet, wearing my shoes, seeing my dresses. She was with us when we were getting dressed for the Met Gala, and she put on my gloves and my hat and she said, 'Mama and Gaga are going to a ball, just like Cinderella.' "
Nick recently admitted Malti isn't impressed by his fame and loves it when he plays Moana with her.
He told People magazine: 'She wants to play Moana and Maui with me, and that means more to me than anything else, is that time with her. And just the fact that I'm just Dad when I'm home, it means a lot.
"The best part about being a dad is you could feel like your coolest self on top of the world, and she just doesn't care at all."
Up until last weekend, the Jonas Brothers singer had been starring in The Last Five Years on Broadway and has been enjoying "quiet family time" with Priyanka and Malti during their time in New York.
He told Extra "We're loving just nice walks through Central Park, that quiet family time is such a good reset from being here at the theatre. As you saw when you saw the show, it's pretty intense at times. The schedule, eight shows a week, is a lot, but it actually allows for me to have time with them and be in one place, which when you're on the road you don't always get, so it's been a nice change of pace."

Denmark to combat deepfakes by giving citizens copyright over their own features
The Danish government is planning to tackle the issue of AI-generated deepfakes by granting citizens property rights over their likeness and voice. The proposed legislation would mean that people who find that their features have been used to create a deepfake would have the right to ask the platforms that host the content to take it down, Danish Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt told CNN on Friday. Engel-Schmidt believes that ' technology has outpaced legislation' and the proposed law would help to protect artists, public figures and ordinary people from digital identity theft, which he said is now possible with just a few clicks thanks to the power of generative AI. 'I think we should not accept a situation where human beings can be run through, if you would have it, a digital copy machine and misused for all sorts of purposes,' he said. He cited the example of musical artists who have discovered songs online purporting to be theirs, but which have in fact been made using AI clones of their voice. One such case involves Canadian singer Celine Dion, who in March warned fans about AI-generated content featuring her voice and likeness that was circulating online. And in April 2024, more than 200 artists, including Billie Eilish, Kacey Musgraves, J Balvin, Ja Rule, Jon Bon Jovi, the Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry and Miranda Lambert, signed an open letter speaking out against AI-related threats in the music industry. Engel-Schmidt says he has secured cross-party support for the bill, and he believes it will be passed this fall. Once the legislation is passed, Engel-Schmidt believes a second step would be to introduce more legislation that could impose fines on companies that do not comply with requests to remove content featuring an AI-generated deepfake. 'We are champions of freedom of speech, we would like everyone to be heard, but we also believe that human beings have the right to say yes and no to them being used by generative AI,' he said. As for whether he has discussed the proposed legislation with tech companies, Engel-Schmidt said: 'Not yet, but I'm looking forward to it.' 'I think it's in their interest as well to make AI work for humanity, not against, you know, artists, popular figures and ordinary people.' Athina Karatzogianni, a professor of technology and society at the University of Leicester, England, said the Danish proposal is one of hundreds of policy initiatives around the world looking to reduce the possible harms associated with the misuse of generative AI. 'Deepfakes can have both individual and social impact, because they can both harm individual rights and also (have) sociopolitical impacts, because they undermine the values that are fundamental to a democracy, such as equality and transparency,' Karatzogianni said.

Ellen Pompeo wants help keeping ageing at bay
Ellen Pompeo isn't planning to "keep it 100% natural" as she gets older. The 55-year-old actress is trying to keep the signs of ageing "at bay" and while she does what she can to look after herself, she also boosts her routines with "a little bit of Botox", Morpheus8 treatments and skin peels. Martin Short shocked by Meryl Streep admission
Martin Short was stunned when Meryl Streep admitted she was nervous on her first day filming Only Murders in the Building. The 75-year-old actor portrays Oliver Putnam in the series opposite the 76-year-old screen legend as his love interest Loretta Durkin and he was shocked to learn she was just as apprehensive about shooting their first scenes together in season three as he was. Speaking on Sirius XM's Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend, he said: "So, the first scene we shot in Only Murders was a scene where we're at the piano and we're kind of flirting a little bit. "The first shot set up [panned over Meryl to me] so it's pressure on me. "And then, we break down so that they can reverse the cameras and do her side,." 'We go into holding area and she just says, 'Okay, nerves to half.' And I go, 'Wait a second, I was nervous. You can't be nervous.'
