Colorado State University announces pro bull riding event will return in 2026 for three nights
CSU and PBR hosted their first-ever partnered event on Monday night, with thousands of rodeo and country music fans in attendance. This marked the first time Canvas Stadium hosted a major event outside of a football game or graduation. The stadium opened in 2017 and was designed to be multi-purpose.
The 2025 event was only slated for two nights, taking place on Monday, July 21, and Tuesday, July 22. In 2026, the event is scheduled for Canvas Stadium on July 10, 11, and 12.
CSU President Amy Parsons took to social media to celebrate the extension of the event partnership. Athletic director John Weber told CBS News Colorado's Dillon Thomas he was excited to bring back PBR to Canvas and continue to expand the ways the stadium can be used as a gathering place for entertainment.
Cross Canadian Ragweed played the stadium on Monday night, marking the first time a band has played at the stadium outside of CSU's marching band. The first act was originally slated to be Tim McGraw, but he pulled out of the event, citing health concerns.
Tuesday night, John Pardi is scheduled to perform. The musicians to play in 2026 have not been announced yet.

Ryan McMahon went 1 for 3 with a walk in his Yankees debut, a day after the third baseman was acquired from Colorado for a pair of pitching prospects. Marcus Stroman (2-2) allowed four runs, five hits and four walks in 3 2/3 innings. Sosa hit a two-run homer in the seventh off Allan Winans and Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run drive against Daniel Robert in the bottom half. A convention staff member told EW that someone suffered an emergency near the escalators at the entrance to the San Diego Convention Center. A 2025 Comic-Con attendee was taken away in an ambulance after suffering a medical emergency inside the San Diego Convention Center on Saturday. An Entertainment Weekly reporter at the scene was informed by a convention staff member that 'someone' suffered an emergency near the escalators at the convention entrance, but would not disclose any additional information about what occurred or their condition. The individual was subsequently taken away on a stretcher and loaded into the ambulance, which left the scene just after noon PT. Video footage from the event taken by EW shows a growing crowd surrounding the convention center entrance, with the ambulance parked out front. As a result, entrance to the convention center was briefly paused on Saturday in order to allow emergency services to pull up to the front of the building and aid the individual. Attendees were allowed to enter the convention shortly after the ambulance departed. The incident comes just one day after a confusing fire alarm announcement rang out near Hall H and Ballroom 20, despite no alarm actually being heard. Security notified attendees during a Dexter: Resurrection panel to 'remain calm' and await further instructions. "I'm not calm," moderator Jamie Chung said, to which star Michael C. Hall replied, "Thank God Dexter's with us." Bills sign WR Kelly Akharaiyi after WR David White retires
The Bills swapped out wide receivers Saturday. The team announced it signed Kelly Akharaiyi to the roster and placed David White on reserve/retired. White, 25, joined the Bills earlier this week. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2024, signing with the Jaguars. He tore an ACL in Organized Team Activities with the Jaguars last spring and never played for Jacksonville. Akharaiyi is an undrafted free agent who played at Mississippi State in 2024. During his lone season with the Bulldogs, Akharaiyi appeared in 11 games and totaled 25 receptions for 391 yards and two touchdowns. He spent 2022-23 with UTEP and had 69 receptions for 1,308 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 24 games.
