Rathbun appeared on Season 5 of '90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days,' from December 2021 to April 2022, with his now wife Mahogany Roca.
At the time of his episode, the divorced father of four kids from Michigan was 52 and met the Peruvian native online. Those closest to Rathbun were worried he was being catfished as Roca didn't want to answer any video calls, and there was a 30-year age gap.
Despite their fears, the couple ended up meeting in Peru and later tying the knot.

'Our civil ceremony was just brilliant, I could not believe how beautiful it was,' Rathbun said in February 2024 while on '90 Day Diaries,' according to In Touch. 'But we are still planning on having a religious ceremony.'
However, Rathbun felt he still needed to 'build trust' with Roca.
'We're just going through a really difficult transition. I've gone about six months without a really good job and bills have been piling up, of course,' he revealed. 'Things are extremely tight now and I'm doing everything I can right now to pay all the bills and for my next trip to Peru.'

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Rathbun was booked in 2020 for operating a vehicle while under the influence, along with driving with a suspended license.
He was sentenced to 18 months of probation in January 2021, but ended up missing a probation violation hearing in February 2022, just months before he proposed, per the outlet.

The TLC star was taken into custody after the judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
'This was my fault because I needed to make sure I was getting all notices, but by the time I found out, it was too late, and I missed my appointment,' Rathbun said in a statement to In Touch at the time. 'So a warrant was issued for my arrest. I immediately drove 14 hours and turned myself in to the court and spent a night in jail.'
Following news of Rathbun's death, many of his '90 Day Fiancé' co-stars shared their condolences beneath a post announcing his death on Instagram.

Coldplay gives fans warning in first concert since viral 'Kiss Cam' video
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin demonstrated that he had learned what those who practice prose for the masses have long known: you have to make things undeniably clear. In the band's first concert since the now-infamous 'Kiss Cam' video incident, Martin nodded to the viral video in somewhat of a warning to fans. "We'd like to say hello to some of you in the crowd," Martin said during the so-called "Jumbotron Song" portion of the July 19 show in Madison, Wisconsin. "How we're going to do that is use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen." Despite this subtle nod, Coldplay has not outright mentioned the viral incident since it happened. The band did, however, post a recap of the show, minus the incident, on their Instagram page which now has thousands of comments and over 1 million likes. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel – a part of the USA TODAY Network – reported that no displays of affection were shown during the "Jumbotron Song." But there was one noteworthy moment. The cameras did find the tour's Pro Tools director, Madison native Bill Rahko, a co-producer and engineer who's worked with the band and was spotted with a "Wisconsin" shirt in a control room. "He knows everything about us," Martin said as part of the praise he heaped on a misty-eyed Rahko, lauding him for filling in for a sick Guy Berryman on bass for a show, helping them in the recording studio with little notice, and providing Martin with the beginning of the music for their blockbuster BTS collaboration "My Universe." "I can't tell you how much we love this man; we all do." What happened during the viral 'Kiss Cam' incident? The video from July 16 that went viral shows a man and a woman quickly letting go of each other when a "Kiss Cam" shows them on the giant screen at the concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts. 'Uh oh, what? Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy,' Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked. The incident has led to Astronomer CEO Andy Byron resigning from the company, according to his now-former employer. USA TODAY has not confirmed the identities of the man and woman in the video and has reached out to the company for comment multiple times. 'Coldplayed' warnings hit other concerts Other artists have warned concertgoers that their secrets would remain within the walls of the venue in the wake of so-called "Coldplayed" phenomenon. "If there's anybody here with their side chick or whatever, I think, I think you're safe here," pop-country artist Morgan Wallen told the crowd at his June 18 concert in Glendale, Arizona – just outside of Phoenix. "I don't condone cheating anymore," he added. Country artist Luke Bryan joked about the incident during his June 17 concert in Greenville, South Carolina saying, "We're gonna shine our cameras on anybody. Who's here with their secretary tonight?" Bryan vamped part of his song "Strip it Down" before adding, "do not get caught tonight." Coldplay's remaining tour dates According to Coldplay's website, their next concert will be held on Tuesday, July 22 in Nashville, Tennessee. They are then set to play two shows at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on Saturday July 26 and Sunday July 27 before going to London for a slate of shows in August and September. Democrat running for NY district attorney ‘encourages' criminals to apply for job on staff
Crime doesn't pay — so try politics instead. The Democrat running to be Nassau County's top prosecutor encouraged convicted criminals to apply for a job on her campaign that could pay them up to $7,000 a month. District Attorney candidate Nicole Aloise's campaign posted an ad seeking a 'communications director' on job website as she tries to unseat Republican incumbent District Attorney Anne Donnelly. Advertisement 3 District Attorney candidate Nicole Aloise's campaign posted an ad seeking a 'communications director' on job website Nicole Aloise/Instagram 'People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply,' the job posting says, offering a salary range of between $6,000-$7,000 a month. The call for ex-cons to apply for a job sticks out like a sore thumb in an otherwise traditional job description that notes applicants should have previous experience in media relations, dealing with New York journalists or working on campaigns. Advertisement Any top media manager's goal is to get the candidate favorable press coverage. Donnelly called the advertisement more than politically tone-deaf, labeling the job solicitation 'dangerous,' and claiming it exposes Aloise's 'criminal-first agenda' that puts criminals over law-abiding citizens. 3 'People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply,' the job posting says. Indeed 'The District Attorney is responsible for safeguarding confidential information, ensuring justice, and holding criminals accountable—not inviting them into the heart of a campaign for Nassau County's top law enforcement post,' Donnelly told The Post. Advertisement 'Only someone deeply out of touch would prioritize hiring convicted criminals over qualified, law-abiding citizens for such a sensitive role.' Aloise is a career prosecutor who spent 16 years working in both the Queens and Nassau district attorneys' offices. Some municipalities bar employers from discriminating against convicted criminals. 3 Aloise is a career prosecutor who spent 16 years working in both the Queens and Nassau district attorneys' offices. Nicole Aloise/Instagram Advertisement New York City has the 'Ban the Box' law, also known as the Fair Chance Act, which prohibits employers from asking about an applicant's criminal history or conducting background checks until a conditional job offer is made. That means employers can't include questions about criminal records on job applications or during initial interviews. But Donnelly said explicitly singling out criminals — not law abiding citizens — to apply for a job with a DA candidate whose mission is to enforce the law is beyond the pale. 'This isn't just a campaign misstep—it's a window into Nicole Aloise's dangerous worldview,' Donnelly said. 'Hiring criminals to help run her campaign? That's who she is. Nassau residents can't afford to hand the keys to the DA's Office over to someone who embraces that kind of reckless ideology.' Aloise didn't immediately return a phone message or email seeking comment. Donnelly touted her own prosecutorial record to make Nassau one of the safest counties in America, while fighting to repeal New York's cashless bail law. 'If you want safety, accountability, and common sense in your District Attorney, I'm proud to be the choice of Nassau neighbors who want to keep Nassau the safest community in the U.S.A,' Donnelly said.
