NAMM 2025: Suhr has gone short-scale with its latest electric guitar, with the OSO built to the 24.625" scale length often utilized by Gibson and PRS.
With Mateus Asato, Scott Henderson, and Pete Thorn – recently announced as part of the SatchVai band – among its signature artists, the Lake Elsinore, California-based luthier has seen its stock take an upward trajectory of late. This latest foray into stunted territory, with a curvaceous Tele-type body, won't do it any harm, either.
A trio of woods – an alder body, roasted maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard – provide its typical tonal heart, with some models being bestowed a fourth via a figured maple top.
The neck varies across models. It's sculpted to Suhr's Historic C-profile with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on its Two-tone Tobacco Burst model – and an Even Slim C-profile with an Indian rosewood 'board on the Tea Burst variant.
As ever, there's a black sheep among the flock, with the Orange Satin finished model going all out with a mahogany body and Even Slim C-profile neck, figured maple top, and an Indian Rosewood fingerboard. That change in tonewood is reflected in its $4,449 pricing.
When it comes to hardware, the premium builds stay in-house, which is consistent across the series. That includes fixed two-post, solid saddles and steel block bridge, and Suhr SSV-Neck and SSV-Bridge humbuckers.
Described as the firm's most popular 'bucker of choice, the single screw pickups pride themselves on 'the warmth of a vintage humbucker,' and an 'increased clarity, definition, and range' thanks to an output far hotter than vintage-flavored designs typically dare to go.
The bridge pickup in particular vies for the sought-after PAF-like tones of yesteryear – both are here given simple black with silver pole pieces aesthetics.

To the casual observer, a Gibson-style 24.625" scale length may seem strange on a T-style, but many players prefer the range it gives, which improves fret access for big stretches – and that makes sense for a high-performance brand like Suhr.
Priced upwards of $3,800 and available in four finishes the OSOs aren't exactly budget builds. Rather, this is Suhr throwing the most lavish specs at its first shorter-scale design since the Aura, itself based on the Gibson Les Paul.
Having first teased the guitars on its Instagram, inviting players to 'experience the all-new Oso Short Scale' at NAMM, GW duly popped by the Suhr booth at the weekend and the model was drawing a lot of eyeballs.
There is little more information at this time, with an official launch date yet to be mooted.
Keep your eyes on Suhr for more information in the future.

At 50, Pedro Pascal Has Three Major Releases in Six Weeks: ‘I'm Having a Really Amazing Time'

Just three months ago, certified Hollywood heartthrob Pedro Pascal turned 50 years old — his 2025 has been so abuzz with hits, most have probably forgotten that he was in 'Gladiator II' and 'The Wild Robot' not even a year ago. After years of largely working under the radar, he told AP that he can hardly believe his luck. 'It is the best time of my life,' he said. 'Just, I don't know… look around, and it's an incredible reflection of… what I'm experiencing right now. I'm having a really amazing time.' More from IndieWire Superman's Underwear Returns: A Brief History of the Man of Steel's Red Trunks Alamo Founder Tim League Launches Private Movie Theater Experience in New York Following the success of the romantic drama 'Materialists' last month, 'The Last of Us' star is front and center as Mr. Fantastic in 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps,' out in theaters July 25. He said that he does not take the responsibility of leading a brand-new Marvel Studios feature lightly, emphasizing that he knows that the massive, hardcore fan base is watching. 'I think that sometimes the outside will find you, no matter how much you try to protect yourself from it,' Pascal said. 'It just comes with the territory. I think maybe my nerves were bigger than they usually are, and so I think I just was a little bit more sensitive to the love that people have for stories like this, because I know that they wouldn't exist if it weren't for the love that people have for these characters.' 'The Mandalorian' actor certainly is no stranger to acting in beloved franchises — from a preeminent intergalactic series to an epic video game adaptation — and he recognized the responsibility of crafting a piece of entertainment that would satisfy audiences. 'I think that it's just very important for me that expectations be fulfilled… but I also know that the only way to do that is to give it all my focus and all my heart and my body and my soul and… that was the best I could do,' Pascal shared. Beyond entering the MCU, Pascal will also hit theaters on Friday, July 18 in Ari Aster's latest 'Eddington,' where he plays a small town mayor squaring off against Joaquin Phoenix on opposite sides of the COVID debate circa 2020. That would be the second of three theatrical releases he has in just six weeks. Watch the trailer for 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' below. YouTube Clarifies Changes to Monetization Rules Around Inauthentic Content

This story was originally published on Social Media Today. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily Social Media Today newsletter. After announcing a change to its monetization guidelines to disincentivize the posting of duplicate content, YouTube has now been forced to explain the change in more detail, as creators speculate on the potential impacts of the update. As you may be aware, YouTube recently announced an update to its enforcement of 'mass-produced' content, with improved detection measures now coming into effect. As per YouTube: 'In order to monetize as part of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), YouTube has always required creators to upload 'original' and 'authentic' content. On July 15, 2025, YouTube is updating our guidelines to better identify mass-produced and repetitious content. This update better reflects what 'inauthentic' content looks like today.' So, here, it seems to suggest that YouTube is looking to enforce AI-generated rip-offs, and emerging processes in replicating content, though YouTube specifically says that the type of content it's aiming to crack down on is: 'Channels that upload narrative stories with only superficial differences between them [and] channels that upload slideshows that all have the same narration.' So, as it sounds, repetitive content, replicating almost exactly other videos already posted to the app with no significant change. Seems pretty straightforward, and nothing major to worry about. Indeed, YouTube has further explained that this is a 'minor update' to its longstanding YPP policies, in order to help better identify when content is mass-produced or repetitive. Yet, even so, speculation about the potential impacts, and what exactly 'mass-produced' and 'repetitive' means in this context, is running rife among creator communities. In response, YouTube has now shared further detail on the exact nature of the update, and what types of content will and won't be impacted as a result. As explained by YouTube's Creator Liaison Rene Ritchie, the main change is that 'repetitious' content is being renamed 'inauthentic' content in order to clarify that the policy includes content that's mass-produced or repetitive. The change does not impact re-used content, so you can still post content from other platforms, or re-post videos on YouTube, and it will remain eligible for monetization. 'All of [this type of content] can continue to be monetized if you've added significant original commentary, modifications, or educational or entertainment value to the original video.' The change also doesn't specifically relate to AI-generated content: 'YouTube welcomes creators using AI tools to enhance storytelling, and channels that use AI in their content remain eligible for monetization. YouTube provides AI tools to creators, including autodubbing, Dreamscreen, and more. Channels still have to follow YouTube's monetization policies, and creators are required to disclose when their realistic content is altered or synthetic.' But again, AI-generated content is also not the specific focus of this update, though it is worth noting that YouTube has been cracking down on channels that post fake, AI-generated movie trailers of late. So there has seemingly been some action on IP-violating AI content, and YouTube hasn't provided a heap of detail on a change in policy on that front as yet. But this update isn't it, and YouTube's keen to reiterate that the impact of this change will be minor, and is only focused on combating those who re-post exact replicas of existing content. Hopefully that helps to clarify the update. Sign in to access your portfolio
