Just before she moves alongside the stationary vehicle, the cyclist's attention diverts from the road as she waves at a pedestrian.
Footage shows her travelling at speed before she clipped the side of a red double-decker bus with the number 47.
Just moments later, she was sent flying over the handlebars after colliding with a piece of metal panelling protruding from the side of the bus.
Shocked onlookers watched on as the woman, who was riding without wearing a helmet, crashed down.
The heavy bike appears to land on top of the woman's back and her bag is sent flying out of the front basket.
However, despite the painful looking fall, the London Ambulance Service said that they had no record of sending crews to treat the cyclist at the time and location.
The footage has been viewed millions of time after going viral on social media.
Viewers were left divided over who was at fault in the incident.
One said on X, formerly Twitter: "No cycle lane. No bus stop bypass. Rider forced close to the bus by an overtaking vehicle.
"There may be a miscalculation by the rider here but she wouldn't have been put in this position if there were proper cycling facilities.
"Hope she's ok."

But another user responded: "She's crashed straight into a bus and it's everyone's fault ? No. Just no. She crashed into it, very simple."
A third tweeted: "I pedal-cycled a lot as a child and youth. I never had the benefit of any cycling infrastructure.
"I never cycled into a stationary motor vehicle."
All cyclists are advised to wear a helmet by the Highway Code, as 'evidence suggests that a correctly fitted helmet will reduce your risk of sustaining a head injury in certain circumstances'.
But it is not a legal requirement and no helmets are provided to people hiring Lime bikes or other dockless bikes in the city.
The 47 bus runs between Newquay Road in Lewisham and Shoreditch.
It is operated under contract to TfL by Stagecoach London.
A Transport for London spokesperson told The Standard that the cyclist had collided with a stationary bus and there were 'no serious injuries reported'.
Simon Munk, from the London Cycling Campaign, told the outlet: "Everyone getting around in London needs to behave sensibly - that counts for drivers, pedestrians and obviously cyclists too.
'Pay attention to your surroundings, cycle within your capabilities, look after yourself and others.
'And remember, lots of organisations including LCC offer free third party insurance with membership."

Donald Trump posts meme of Barack Obama - but people are distracted by JD Vance

It's a photoshopped version of the iconic image of OJ Simpson driving his white Bronco, with a squad of police cars in pursuit Donald Trump posted a meme comparing Barack Obama to OJ Simpson - but something else about the picture distracted people. ‌ It's a photoshopped version of the iconic image of OJ Simpson driving his white Bronco, with a squad of police cars in pursuit. ‌ In Trump's version, OJ is replaced by Obama, with the drivers of two police cars behind replaced by Trump and Vice President JD Vance. ‌ But after the US President posted the image on his Truth Social website, people started to notice Vance looked unusual. Closer inspection reveals Vance's face is in fact a meme of the Vice President, altered to make his face wider and with long hair. ‌ When this was pointed out on Twitter, Vance responded with a "laugh" emoji. Last week, Trump posted an AI generated video depicting President Obama being arrested in the Oval Office by FBI agents while Trump watches. Trump posted the image from his Turnberry resort in Scotland, where he is enjoying a weekend of golfing - with a huge police presence to protect him, paid for by UK taxpayers. ‌ But he's still facing questions about his links to dead paedophile Jeffrey Epstein - and has been pulling out all the stops to try get people to talk about literally anything else. One of the things he's brought up that he wishes people were talking about is a new conspiracy theory, claiming President Obama and his senior team used false intelligence to suggest Russia interfered in the 2016 election to help Trump win. ‌ The claims are nonsense, and are not backed up by the reams of documents they have presented as evidence. Yet, the President has continued the attacks on his predecessor, even threatening to have him prosecuted. Earlier, as reporters shouted questions about his friendship with Epstein over the fence at his golf course, his entourage played loud music - including Memory from the musical Cats and Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel.

Expelled ex-congressman George Santos to begin prison sentence

"Well, darlings... The curtain falls, the spotlight dims, and the rhinestones are packed. From the halls of Congress to the chaos of cable news what a ride it's been! Was it messy? Always. Glamorous? Occasionally. Honest? I tried... most days," Santos wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. "To my supporters: You made this wild political cabaret worth it," he wrote. "To my critics: Thanks for the free press. I may be leaving the stage (for now), but trust me legends never truly exit." Santos pleaded guilty in August 2024 to felony wire fraud and aggravated identity theft charges. As part of the plea, he admitted to filing false campaign finance reports, charging donors' credit cards without authorization and fraudulently receiving unemployment benefits, among other acts that began years before he ran for Congress. A House ethics investigation found he had "sought to fraudulently exploit every aspect of his House candidacy for his own personal financial profit." Santos represented parts of Queens and Long Island for 11 months. He was expelled from Congress in a bipartisan vote following the release of the House Ethics report.

Lucas Paqueta ‘set to be CLEARED of betting charges as FA faced with paying West Ham star's £1MILLION legal fees'

LUC'S IN Lucas Paqueta 'set to be CLEARED of betting charges as FA faced with paying West Ham star's £1MILLION legal fees' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LUCAS PAQUETA is set to be cleared of spot-fixing charges, according to reports. The West Ham star has played for two years while allegations of being deliberately yellow carded were hanging over his head. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Lucas Paqueta is set to be cleared of spot-fixing charges Credit: Getty 2 Paqueta was accused of being deliberately carded on four occasions Credit: PA It was alleged that Paqueta picked up bookings on four separate occasions between November 2022 to August 2023 amid suspicious betting patterns being flagged. A guilty verdict could have seen the 27-year-old slapped with a lifetime ban from football. But reports from The Times claim Paqueta will be cleared of all charges. The FA are set to confirm their decision early next week. West Ham and Paqueta are said to be furious over how long it has taken to reach a verdict. The FA could now face having to cover the cost of the midfielder's legal fees, which is in the region of £1million. Shortly before the investigation became public, Manchester City had agreed an £85million deal to sign the former Lyon man from West Ham. But that move collapsed once City became aware of the allegations. An investigation was launched after suspicions betting patterns were identified originating from Paqueta Island in Brazil, where the player was born. Bets ranging from just £7 to £400 were placed on the four separate cards, in matches against Leicester, Aston Villa, Leeds and Bournemouth. A total of £100,000 in winnings came from bets placed on the four bookings. West Ham's then shirt sponsor, Betway, as well as a number of other high-profile bookmakers, raised concerns after their automatic systems which monitor suspicious betting were triggered. After the nine-month FA probe, Paqueta was charged in May last year but did not face a hearing until March 2025, which finished following the end of the Premier League season. During the hearing, evidence was heard from former West Ham boss David Moyes. Paqueta's form has nosedived during the process, with the playmaker in tears on the pitch following a booking in a West Ham game versus Tottenham in May. Following that match, Paqeuta's wife released an emotional statement saying the family had been living through a "nightmare" for two years. Sources close to the player have revealed that the allegations have had a serious impact on Paqueta's mental well-being. THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY..
