Beckham brothers' social media snubs and swipes as family feud reaches sad low
The Beckham family feud has reached a very public low - as brothers Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz no longer follow each other. In the digital age, there can be no higher insult than hitting that 'unfollow' button.
And when committed among family members, it can only be seen as a sign of a deep and troubling split. For months, speculation has been rife that Brooklyn Beckham, 26, and his Hollywood actress wife Nicola Peltz, 30, have fallen out with the rest of the Beckham clan.
Reports have persisted the couple have clashed with Brooklyn's brother Romeo over his choice of girlfriend – with Romeo, 22, recently splitting from Kim Turnbull, 24, and Cruz, 20, linked to 29-year-old Jackie Apostel. And other reports have suggested Brooklyn and Nicola have endured a frosty relationship with his famous parents David and Victoria Beckham ever since their glitzy 2022 wedding.
With reports of the feud refusing to die, petrol was thrown onto the flames of reported blazing arguments when the Beckham brothers made very public changes to their social media – with the brothers appearing to unfollow one another. Here is a recap of the latest drama in the Beckham family...
Brooklyn denies brutally snubbing his brothers after 'unfollowing' claims
On Friday, Brooklyn appeared to draw battle lines as he abruptly unfollowed his younger brothers Cruz and Romeo on social media. The aspiring chef still follows his famous mum and dad, making it unclear if a war of words between himself and his brothers may have erupted behind the scenes.
Those close to Brooklyn told The Sun that Brooklyn and Nicola did not unfollow the brothers and had "no idea" about it until he read about it online. "It's possible Romeo and Cruz blocked them, which would make it appear as him no longer following the brothers," the source suggested.
"He and Nicola certainly didn't unfollow them or block them — they're as confused as anyone else. The first they heard about it was when it was being reported on."
Cruz unfollows Brooklyn
Hours after fans noticed Brooklyn had seemingly unfollowed Romeo and Cruz on Instagram, the youngest of the three brothers appeared to retaliate by unfollowing Brooklyn as well as his wife, Nicola. Fans checking his followers list noticed that both Brooklyn and Nicola failed to appear when searched for under Cruz's profile.
The unexpected unfollowing action came after Brooklyn seemed to offer an olive branch amid the family feud earlier in the week as he issued a sweet tribute to sister Harper on her birthday. Cruz continues to follow his middle brother – as well as his famous parents.
Earlier in the week, Brooklyn shared a photo of himself and Nicola alongside Harper, and he wrote a message highlighting her birthday, writing: "Happy birthday Harper, we love you."
Romeo issues a savage public comment
As social media comments erupted over Brooklyn and Nicola unfollowing Cruz and Romeo, and Cruz unfollowing Brooklyn and Nicola seemingly in response, a further twist unfolded amid the drama. Romeo – who appeared to unfollow the married couple yesterday but now follows both Brooklyn and Nicola – shared a social media post that alluded to the fallout.
Romeo, who is not followed on Instagram by Brooklyn and Nicola, posted a screenshot of his Spotify, showing he was listening to a song entitled Walking Away, from Justin Bieber's new surprise album, titled Swag. As he shared the screengrab he wrote: "Yup", which appeared to be a one word response to his brother's latest brutal move.
Reports have suggested Brooklyn's relationship with Romeo soured due to his romance with model and DJ Kim Turnbull – although she and Romeo split last month. After their breakup, Kim raised eyebrows as she appeared to address rumours that have appeared online about the brothers, writing in a defiant social media post: "I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question. Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16."

EastEnders actor arrested on set as 'assault' left woman 'very distressed'
An extra in his 50s was arrested on the EastEnders set at Elstree Studios, Hertfordshire, on May 7 after a woman complained he had tried to forcibly kiss her while filming An actor was arrested on the set of EastEnders following an alleged assault that left a woman "clearly very distressed", reports say. Cameras stopped rolling at Elstree Studios, Hertfordshire, on May 7 after a woman complained that a fellow extra, a man in his 50s, had tried to forcibly kiss her. Security stepped in to grab the man, which led to a scuffle before the actor was handed over to police. According to reports, the man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of the woman and of common assault against another person, which is alleged to have happened while he was escorted away. He is said to have been released on bail while investigations continue. Filming resumed after the incident. A source told The Sun that the incident was "dramatic" and "everyone was quite shaken by up by it all." The witness said: "No one could quite believe what was happening. "The main focus was the woman's welfare, as she was clearly very distressed. Obviously, filming had to be stopped while the incident was dealt with by production managers and security. "It got very heated when the man squared up to the security staff as they tried to calm things. Eventually, he was questioned and taken away by police." It is understood that the cameras didn't capture footage of the alleged attack, but it's not clear whether the scenes filmed on the day of the incident have been screened on TV yet. According to the publication, Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale in the BBC soap opera, was one of the stars filming at the time. The source added that "everyone involved in the production, including the cast and crew, acted very responsibly in an extremely difficult situation." Crew members were said to be grateful to bosses for the "professionalism and understanding" they showed in handling the incident. Hertfordshire Police confirmed that a suspect in his 50s was "arrested on suspicion of common assault and sexual assault in relation to two victims." The force added: "He is on police bail whilst enquiries continue." EastEnders said in a statement on Saturday: "While we would never comment on individuals, EastEnders has on-site security and well-established procedures in place to safeguard the safety and welfare of everyone who works on the show."

Fans rejoice as beloved Friends actor, 32, makes a surprising comeback
He once starred in one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time but Cole Sprouse, 32, has come a long way from his days on the Friends set. The former child star, who portrayed Ross Geller's son Ben in seven episodes of the beloved series, is now best known for his lead role in Netflix 's Riverdale. But it's another project that has fans rejoicing once again this week. Sprouse's side hustle is running a chaotic, cult-favorite Instagram account called @camera_duels, where he posts candid snaps of fans who try to secretly photograph him in public by snapping a photo of them back. The account became a viral sensation a couple of years ago but in June 2023 Sprouse stopped posting to it. 'It started because I was pissed off,' Cole previously told Wonderland magazine. 'I try to approach a lot of the strange trappings of celebrity and the culture with comedy… the actions and feelings and vibes that people put off when they're about to do something like that is so obvious and comical that it begs a duel.' The account was originally meant to shame people who tried to sneak photos without asking. But it has ironically turned into a bucket list item for fans with many admitting they now try to stage a stealth photo just to be featured. 'That was an oversight on my behalf,' Cole admitted. 'I should have seen that coming!' Now Sprouse is back posting to his Instagram. Last week he shared a rambling yet poetic takedown of a father in a Speedo snapping a photo of him at the beach. The caption included everything from commentary on the surveillance state to the unfortunate visibility of 'a 50+ shivering meatus' behind thin swimwear. Fans couldn't get enough and the post left followers fangirling over him. His account now boasts over 4.6million followers, with each post bombarded with fan messages. Sprouse played Ben for just seven episodes between 2000 and 2002 but suddenly disappeared from Friends without explanation. The real reason was because his character was written out as the show to focus more on Ross' relationship with Rachel and later, their daughter Emma. Still, despite his brief time on the show, the Friends fans have not let go. Fans have speculated that Ross may have lost custody of Ben off-screen, due to his increasingly erratic behavior. Sprouse himself has even joked about the theory, agreeing that Ross 'wasn't the most present father' during a previous GQ interview. In 2015, a Reddit user named D.F. Lovett hypothesized that Cole's character still existed but that Ross lost custody of him. 'Friends was on for ten seasons, but Ben doesn't show up in person after episode 12 of season eight,' the Reddit user posted. The post continued: 'He's only mentioned six times in the remaining 54 episodes after his last appearance. 'People like to give Ross the benefit of the doubt, wondering if perhaps he was a better father off-screen. Perhaps his children met but the audience never saw. 'The more likely answer is that he was such a deadbeat father that he completely faded away from his son's life, pretending to his family and so-called friends that he still saw a boy he barely knew.' Sprouse has also previously shared details of his time on set and admitted he had a major crush on Jennifer Aniston while filming Friends at just eight years old. 'I had a really, really hard time working with Aniston because I was so in love with her', he confessed to the New York Post. 'I was infatuated. I was speechless. I'd get all bubbly and forget my lines and go completely blank. It was difficult.' The role on Friends was Cole's first acting job where he starred without his twin brother, Dylan, because the sitcom didn't require both twins. Sprouse went on to star on Disney's The Suite Life of Zach and Cody with his brother before landing a role as Jughead in Riverdale after graduating from college. Sprouse said fans still regularly recognize him as Ben from Friends. 'Because Friends is on Netflix, there's renewed interest,' he explained in an interview with Marie Claire in 2022. 'People can call me 'Ben' on the street and I will turn around.'
