N. Korean Leader Meets Secretary of Russian Security Council
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, met Sergei Shoigu on a visit to the DPRK leading a delegation of the Security Council of the Russian Federation upon authorization of Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, at the headquarters building of the WPK Central Committee on June 4.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gladly received Comrade Sergei Shoigu visiting Pyongyang again in just 70-odd days and had a friendly and trustworthy talk with him.
Sergei Shoigu courteously conveyed the friendly greetings from Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
Kim Jong Un expressed his deep thanks for it, and sent his warm comradely greetings to the respected Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.
Shoigu conveyed the special thanks of the Russian leadership for the matchless heroism and self-sacrificing spirit displayed by the Korean people's excellent sons who participated in the operations for liberating the Kursk area and defended the precious part of the Russian territory as they would do their own motherland, fighting shoulder to shoulder with the Russian soldiers in the same trench
Kim Jong Un expressed his thanks for it.
Discussed in depth at the talk were a series of important matters for defending the common core interests by more solidly developing the special and firm comprehensive strategic partnership between the DPRK and Russia and items of mutual cooperation in different fields. Also exchanged in a broad way at the talk were views and opinions of the leaderships of the two countries on the development of situation over the Ukrainian crisis and on the international and regional situations. The talk confirmed the consensus of stand of the two sides.
Kim Jong Un affirmed that the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea would, in the future, too, unconditionally support the stand of Russia and its foreign policies in all the crucial international political issues including the Ukrainian issue and responsibly observe the articles of the treaty between the DPRK and Russia.
He expressed expectation and conviction that Russia would, as ever, surely win victory in the just and sacred cause for defending its national sovereignty, territorial integrity and security interests.
Expressed at the talk was the will of the leaderships of the two countries to continue to dynamically expand and develop the DPRK-Russia relations into powerful and comprehensive relations of strategic partnership that fully conform to the national interests of the two countries and wellbeing of their peoples and contribute to realizing genuine international justice.
Kim Jong Un wished the Russian people eternal victory, prosperity and happiness and extended warm wishes to the respected President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and the Russian government, army and people.

Ukrainian drone attack sparks fire at oil depot in Russia's former Olympic city, governor says
More than 120 firefighters were trying to extinguish a blaze at an oil depot in the Russian city of Sochi that was sparked by a Ukrainian drone attack, regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said early on Sunday on the Telegram messaging app. In the Krasnodar region on the Black Sea where Sochi is located, a fuel tank with a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters (70,000 cubic feet) was on fire, Russia's RIA news agency reported, citing emergency officials. The Russian defense ministry said in its daily morning report on Telegram that its air defense units destroyed 93 Ukrainian drones overnight, including one over the Krasnodar region and 60 over the waters of the Black Sea. The ministry reports only how many drones its units destroy, not how many Ukraine launched. Rosaviatsia, Russia's civil aviation authority, temporarily halted flights at Sochi's airport to ensure air safety before saying on Telegram that flights resumed as of 0200 GMT on Sunday (10 p.m. ET, Saturday). Reuters could not independently verify the reports. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine. The attack, which Kondratyev said was in the Adler district of the coastal resort city, would be Ukraine's latest on infrastructure inside Russia that Kyiv deems key to Moscow's war efforts. A woman was killed in the Adler district in a Ukrainian drone attack late last month, but attacks on Sochi, which hosted the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, have been infrequent in the war that Russia launched in February 2022. The Krasnodar region is home to the Ilsky refinery near the city of Krasnodar, among the largest in southern Russia and a frequent target of Ukraine's drone attacks. Also on Sunday, the governor of Voronezh region in southern Russia said four people were injured in a Ukrainian drone strike that caused several fires, while Russia launched a missile attack on Kyiv, according to the military administration of the Ukrainian capital. The Russian defense ministry said that its units destroyed 18 Ukrainian drones over the Voronezh region that borders Ukraine.

Ukraine says hit military targets and pipeline in Russia - War in Ukraine
Ukraine said Saturday it hit military targets and a gas pipeline in drone attacks in Russia, where local authorities said three people were killed and two others wounded. Ukraine's SBU security service said the strikes, carried out Friday night by long-distance drones, hit a military airfield in the southwestern town of Primorsko-Akhtarsk. They caused a fire in an areas where Iranian-built Shahed drones -- relied on by Russia to attack Ukraine -- were stored, the SBU said. It said the strikes also hit a company, Elektropribor, in Russia's southern Penza region, which it said "works for the Russian military-industrial complex", making military digital networks, aviation devices, armoured vehicles and ships. The governor for the Penza region, Oleg Melnichenko, said on Telegram that one woman had been killed and two other people were wounded in that attack. Russia's defence ministry said its air-defence systems had destroyed 112 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory -- 34 over the Rostov region -- in a nearly nine-hour period, from Friday night to Saturday morning. An elderly man was killed inside a house that caught fire due to falling drone debris in the Samara region, governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev posted on Telegram. In the Rostov region, a guard at an industrial facility was killed after a drone attack and a fire in one of the site's buildings, acting Rostov governor Yuri Sliusar said. "The military repelled a massive air attack during the night," destroying drones over seven districts, Sliusar posted on Telegram. Heavy use of drones Ukraine has regularly used drones to hit targets inside Russia as it fights back against Moscow's military offensive, launched in February 2022. Russia, too, has increasingly deployed the unmanned aerial devices against Ukraine. An AFP analysis published on Friday showed that Russia's forces in July launched an unprecedented number of drones, 6,297 of them. The figure included decoy drones sent into Ukraine's skies in efforts to saturate the country's air-defence systems. In Ukraine's central-eastern Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian drone attacks Friday night wounded three people, governor Sergiy Lysak wrote on Telegram. Several buildings, homes and cars were damaged, he said. Russian forces have claimed advances in Dnipropetrovsk, recently announcing the capture of two villages there, part of Moscow's accelerated capture of territory in July, according to AFP's analysis of data from the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW). Kyiv denies any Russian presence in the Dnipropetrovsk area. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has consistently rejected calls for a ceasefire in the more than three-year conflict, said Friday that he wanted peace but that his demands for ending Moscow's military offensive were "unchanged". Those demands include that Ukraine abandon territory and end ambitions to join NATO. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, meanwhile, said only Putin could end the war and renewed his call for a meeting between the two leaders. "The United States has proposed this.
