Vatel Hotel & Tourism Business College has opened registration for the 2025-2026 academic year. Prospective students can now apply for bachelor's degree in international Hotel Management, delivered in partnership with Esteemed Vatel France.
'Vatel Bahrain provides an exceptional educational journey, blending academic rigor with hands-on training to equip students with the practical expertise required to excel in the hospitality, tourism, and hotel industries. Moreover, all graduates are guaranteed promising employment opportunities within Bahrain and abroad upon completing their studies.' said Neda Jahromi, Acting Manager of Admissions and Marketing at the college.
Jahromi explained that the bachelor's degree in international Hotel Management offered by the college places significant emphasis on practical training, with students following a bi-weekly schedule that alternates between one week of academic study and one week of hands-on experience throughout the first semester.
The second semester is dedicated entirely to practical experience, with students placed in four- and five-star hotels in Bahrain or internationally.
This system ensures graduates accumulate nearly two years of industry experience, enhancing their employability and enabling them to secure positions more swiftly.
Additionally, the programme includes French language lessons as a core element, further enriching students' skill sets and international competitiveness.

In response to growing demand for specialised leaders in the region's rapidly expanding tourism sector, Vatel Bahrain has launched the Kingdom's first MBA in International Hotel Management. The two-year postgraduate programme, approved by the Higher Education Council (HEC), is placed at level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and aligned with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) at level 9, offering students an internationally recognised pathway to senior roles in the hospitality and tourism sector locally, regionally and internationally. In line with the college's strategic goals, the MBA programme supports the objectives of Bahrain Vision 2030 and the Kingdom's Tourism Strategy 2022–2026 by empowering national talent in high-potential sectors and equipping them with professional knowledge, relevant skills, and leadership capabilities that enhance their contribution to sustainable economic development. Delivered entirely in English over two academic years, the programme is designed to engage students in a unique curriculum covering subjects such as Economy of Tourism and Hospitality, Marketing Strategy, Financial Analysis, Human Resources, Hospitality and Tourism Strategy, and language studies in English and French, honing their skills and enhancing industry readiness. Admission to the programme requires a bachelor's qualification in Hospitality or Hotel Management, or a bachelor's degree in any other discipline accompanied by a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. Applicants must also successfully complete a personal interview as part of the selection process. Sheikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, General Director of Vatel Bahrain, affirmed that the introduction of this MBA programme—considered the first of its kind in the Kingdom—addresses the increasing need for skilled leadership in the hospitality and tourism industries across Bahrain and the wider region, while also executes Vatel Bahrain's strategic plan aimed at developing national and regional competencies to the highest standards by equipping them with professional skills, expertise and knowledge in the tourism field. Sheikh Khaled further added that the MBA programme has been meticulously developed to equip graduates with the professional knowledge, strategic acumen, and global perspective essential for assuming senior leadership roles within the tourism and hospitality sector. By seamlessly integrating academic rigour with practical industry experience and remaining attuned to evolving global trends, the programme seeks to address existing professional gaps and contribute meaningfully to enhancing the quality and competitiveness of hospitality services in Bahrain and the wider region.

Seef Properties announced a comprehensive plan to relaunch Seef Mall – Seef District with a bold new look as part of a major drive to redefine shopping and entertainment in the Kingdom. The goal is to deliver a more modern, state-of-the-art experience at one of Bahrain's best loved destinations. Over the next two years, the facility will undergo a complete transformation to redefine its identity. Introducing a more contemporary concept, it will blend shopping, entertainment, and upgraded amenities in a more inviting environment. This will create a seamless experience that better serves citizens, residents and visitors. The redevelopment will take place in phases, ensuring the mall remains fully operational while maintaining a comfortable and convenient experience for visitors. The first phase will see an upgrade to the destination's jewellery section to meet growing demand for luxury goods, while adding more variety for shoppers. Future phases will see the introduction of several global brands to the Bahraini market, including the well-known French fashion label Kiabi. The mall will also undergo a thorough review of its dining options, introducing new indoor and outdoor dining concepts. Alongside the interior renovations, surrounding green spaces will be redesigned to include shaded walkways and areas for social and family gatherings, allowing comfort of movement for mall visitors. Parking facilities will also be expanded to accommodate the anticipated rise in demand. Entertainment offerings will also see a major upgrade as part of the redevelopment. Magic Island will be relaunched with a new identity, covering approximately 3,900 square meters, including an extra 600 square meters dedicated to interactive children's games built around imaginative concepts and characters. As part of its commitment to supporting and engaging the youth, the plan includes a 2,500-square-meter social space designed for fun, energetic, and creative activities, including a range of programs and games. The overarching vision is to reinforce Seef Mall's position as a leading destination for family entertainment and leisure. The redevelopment also reflects Seef Properties' commitment to sustainability. Advanced technologies will be deployed to reduce energy and water consumption and minimize the mall's environmental footprint. These efforts align with Bahrain's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2060, making Seef Mall a model for sustainable development in the commercial sector. France and Bahrain Celebrate a Golden Friendship

TDT | Manama A Festive Bastille Day, was marked with grandeur and diplomacy at the Sofitel Bahrain, where French Ambassador, His Excellency Eric Giraud-Telme, delivered a powerful speech celebrating the deepening ties between France and Bahrain. In his address, Ambassador Giraud-Telme reflected on a year of significant milestones in the France–Bahrain relationship, emphasizing shared values, mutual respect, and a commitment to global peace and development. One of the most symbolic moments of the past year was the official visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Paris. During a meeting with President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, defense, and transportation. Ambassador Giraud-Telme emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy and the promotion of the French language in Bahrain. He described culture as a 'bridge between nations' and highlighted several ongoing initiatives supporting education, arts, cinema, fashion, and professional training. French businesses have shown growing interest in Bahrain, with major delegations visiting the Kingdom in recent months. Institutions are actively supporting partnerships in tourism, finance, and infrastructure. The Ambassador spoke firmly on global issues. He reiterated France's call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages, and humanitarian access. He also reaffirmed France's support for Ukraine in its defense against Russian intervention, in line with international law and the UN Charter. UN Security Council Partnership Ambassador Giraud-Telme congratulated Bahrain on its recent election to the United Nations Security Council, stating that France looks forward to working side by side with Bahrain starting January 2026. 'We share many common views on international peace, diplomacy, and development,' he said. A Festive Bastille Day The evening was more than just diplomatic — it was a celebration of French culture and friendship. Guests were treated to French cuisine, music, and a unique artistic showcase that included elements of artificial intelligence. A special short video was also presented, symbolizing the creative and forward-thinking spirit of the Franco-Bahraini partnership. 'There are countless reasons to choose France – for business, for education, for culture and for innovation. Our friendship with Bahrain is based on trust, and it continues to flourish with each new chapter we write together.' Ambassador told The Daily Tribune.
