SeedList Launching Institutional Crypto Crowdfunding Project to Empower Retail Investors and Disrupt the VC-Dominated Crypto Fundraising Landscape
The SeedList launch will mark a pivotal shift in how digital assets are funded and who benefits from their success. SeedList's mission is clear: to dismantle the entrenched venture capital (VC) gatekeeping system that has long exploited retail investors and to decentralize investment power by rewarding real contributors, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), strategic partners, and engaged retail investors.
Retail Investors Have Been Left Behind
For years, retail investors have been relegated to the bottom of a pyramid-shaped capital stack, often serving as exit liquidity for early-stage VCs and insiders who secure massive allocations at rock-bottom valuations. The result has been widespread retail losses, disillusionment, and a broken system that contradicts crypto's founding promise of democratized finance.
'The crypto ecosystem promised financial empowerment for the many, but instead, retail investors have been repeatedly shortchanged, used as exit liquidity for VC firms focused on rapid exits and short-term gains,' said Rosa Pagani, SeedList Co-Founder. ' SeedList will remove VCs from the center of the equation entirely, decentralizing investment and putting financial power back into the hands of the people who actually build, promote, and sustain these projects, KOLs & value-add retail investors.'
A New Narrative: From rapid-exit VCs to Meritocratic Access
Legacy platforms have pushed the boundaries in our industry, innovating and enabling many crowdfunding crypto launches but have largely perpetuated a system favoring institutional insiders. 'These platforms often prioritize U.S.-based VCs, impose inflated valuations on retail investors, and offer limited upside, resulting in large retail losses and eroding trust,' said Brijesh Patel, one of SeedList's other co-founders.
Brijesh continues, 'We are witnessing a critical movement away from the old VC narrative. SeedList flips this by rewarding measurable value, community building, technical development, and genuine engagement, ensuring that retail investors and KOLs have meaningful access and upside, and can invest before VCs at the Seed or Pre-Seed round of top 100 target market crypto projects.'
Traction and Industry Momentum
The crypto fundraising market is evolving rapidly. Existing platforms have launched over 50 projects since 2018, including landmark projects like Solana, Filecoin, Near, Flow, and Shardeum. They have now launched or plan to launch nearly 100 projects in the next year, including WalletConnect ($10mm on 4 launchpads including CoinList, Binance Launchpad, & Echo).
Yet, despite this growth by these industry innovators, retail investors remain underserved and undervalued, said CryptoSheldon, Co-Founder of SeedList. He continues, 'We see growing demand for platforms that prioritize transparency, fairness, and real-world impact. SeedList's AI-driven meritocratic allocation system and international, non-U.S. focus position us uniquely to capture this momentum and deliver a better experience for retail investors and project founders alike.'
SeedList's Differentiated Business Model
Unlike competitors, SeedList will be designed to eliminate VC gatekeeping by using proprietary AI to dynamically adjust SAFT allocation based on measurable contributions rather than passive capital. Its curated ecosystem will connect projects with a vetted network of KOLs, strategic partners, and Tier 1 exchanges, accelerating project launches and aligning incentives across the board. Features include:
- Merit-Based Allocation: Dynamic, AI-powered assessment of community impact, technical contributions, and marketing efforts
- Retail Empowerment: Early access and fair pricing for retail investors, micro-influencers, and power users
- International Focus: Serving non-U.S. markets to reduce regulatory friction and broaden access (KYC required)
Industry-Wide Impact
SeedList's launch will represent a fundamental shift in crypto fundraising, challenging the dominance of previous crypto crowdfunding platforms. By flattening the capital stack and rewarding real contributors, SeedList will offer a sustainable and inclusive model that benefits projects, investors, and the broader ecosystem.

Which Cryptocurrency Will Double Faster? Shiba Inu vs. Solana
Key Points Solana is seeing real financial usage develop organically on its chain, and fast. Shiba Inu has a record of soaring in value without warning. Both could credibly double, and soon. 10 stocks we like better than Solana › When capital flows, it tends to surge toward the assets with the deepest moats and the freshest growth stories with the most compelling visions for delivering value in the future. That's why some cryptocurrencies sprint ahead, while others merely jog in place. Right now, two wildly different tokens, Solana (CRYPTO: SOL) and Shiba Inu (CRYPTO: SHIB), are lining up for the next leg of the market. One is a high-performance smart contract chain that keeps piling on real-world uses; the other is a cute dog logo meme coin with a largely extraneous blockchain attached. Which of these coins will double faster, and which will have the best chance of retaining most of the value afterward? Solana's growth flywheel is accelerating Before a coin can double, it needs a catalyst. Solana has several, and they're all supporting the success of each other. At roughly $177 a coin, Solana's market cap is about $95 billion today. Doubling requires it to add another $95 billion of value, which is no small feat, but at the same time, hardly an unprecedented amount. There's nothing unattainable about the idea of Solana doubling over the near term, and over the longer term, it's practically a given. Real-world assets (RWAs), particularly stocks, are landing on the chain at a blistering pace. The market value of tokenized stocks issued on Solana rocketed from $15 million on June 20 to more than $48 million by July 4, and then $103 million by July 17, thereby dramatically outpacing the tokenized stock growth of every other chain in the same short period. Tokenization of stocks, particularly the largest ones that investors are most likely to be familiar with, drives demand for the coin because every transfer, trade, and settlement burns a few drops of the chain's native token. Plus, institutional investors might be interested in tokenizing their assets to manage them more efficiently, which could be a driver of additional growth. Meanwhile, the chain's developer base keeps swelling, indicating that there will be an even larger ecosystem in the future. There are more than 3,700 monthly active developers on the chain, making it one of the largest talent pools in crypto. More builders mean more apps, users, and fees that circle back to holders via staking rewards -- and more opportunities for investors to park their capital and get a decent return, which in turn completes the virtuous cycle by attracting more developers. Put these strands together, and the conclusion is obvious: Solana doesn't need a miracle to double -- it only needs the trends already in motion to keep inching forward, and there is currently every indication that they will. Shiba Inu's hype engine is (still) sputtering Shiba Inu has a market cap of about $8.5 billion. A doubling in price would add roughly $8.5 billion, which is, at least mathematically speaking, much easier than Solana's climb. The hard part here is finding the durable catalysts that would enable investors to retain the gains of any move higher, rather than simply having the price collapse again immediately after a spike. The coin's enthusiasts have long pointed to the Shibarium, the Layer-2 (L2) chain launched in 2023 intended to give the coin real utility, as one of the pillars of its future relevance and success. But that argument never quite landed, and now it's showing worrying signs of fatigue. New account creation peaked at 5,111 on May 6, but has since collapsed by more than 99%, falling below 100 per day. Daily burns of tokens, which were once touted as a supply scarcity mechanism, are down 95% week over week. User activity is fading, too. Shibarium processed fewer than 4 million transactions on multiple days in late June and early July, a far cry from the 40 million-plus bursts seen after the chain's launch. Could a viral meme wave send Shiba Inu soaring anyway? Certainly yes. Sentiment swings fast when there is lots of liquidity. Speculative appetites might well drive investors to pile into the coin. But history shows that meme rallies fade just as quickly as they start. Without clear utility or fresh developer energy, Shiba Inu's prospects of doubling look like they're completely dependent on the macro environment and fickle investor sentiment. Looking across both chains, the odds clearly favor Solana to double first and also to retain its gains over time. It already handles serious transaction loads, earns real fee revenue, and offers a roadmap packed with practical use cases. Those ingredients create organic, repeat demand for Solana that can support a price surge and then keep it aloft once the initial excitement fades. Shiba Inu, by contrast, depends on episodic hype cycles that history suggests will taper off before long. Hope can win the short sprint now and then, but fundamentals usually take the marathon. Omdia Forecasts Large-Area Display Shipments to Grow 2.9% YoY in 2025 Despite Economic Uncertainty
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--According to the latest analysis from Omdia 's Large-area display market tracker – 2Q25 with 1Q25 results, large-area display (above 9-inch) unit shipments are forecast to increase by 2.9% year-over-year (YoY) in 2025. While growth in 2025 is expected to be smaller than that of 2024, this increase comes in the face of global economic uncertainty and US tariff concerns. Notably, TV and monitor applications are projected to experience negative growth in 2025. Chinese panel makers, who are expected to take 67.9% of total TV display shipments in 2025 are adopting a conservative approach to increasing LCD TV display shipments to manage panel prices. Similarly, panel makers outside of China are cautious about expanding their monitor display businesses due to poor finance performance. Figure1. Large-area display shipment latest forecast in 2025 (millions of units) Large-area LCD unit shipments are expected to increase by 2.4% YoY, reaching 875.5 million in 2025. Pulled-forward demand in 1Q25 has helped to boost the shipment forecast for the year. However, panel makers have little incentive to expand their monitor LCD businesses in 2025 due to financial losses, particularly among non-Chinese manufacturers. Chinese panel makers are projected to increase monitor LCD shipments by 4.8% YoY while panel makers from other regions will decrease shipments by 12.6% YoY in 2025. Chinese panel makers are also maintaining their production-to-order policy to prevent LCD TV display price erosion starting in 2Q25. 'Interestingly, while LCD TV display unit shipments are expected to decline by 2.1% YoY, shipment area is forecast to grow by 4.9% YoY in 2025 driven by ongoing size migration trends,' said Peter Su, Principal Analyst of Omdia. Su added, "Large-area OLED unit shipments and shipment area are forecast to grow by 15.5% YoY and 10.4% YoY, respectively, in 2025. However, these figures are lower than the previous forecast (unit shipments up by 20.3% YoY and shipment area up by 12.9% YoY) from our 1Q25 report. This indicates that large-area OLED demand is slowing more than expected due to global economic uncertainty and concerns about potential impacts from the new US tariff policy.' Regional Market Share LCD shipments: China is forecast to account for 66.7% of total large-area LCD shipments in 2025, followed by Taiwan with 21.9% and Korea with 8.0%. Key players: BOE is expected to lead with 36.3% of total large-area LCD shipments, followed by China Star with 16.5% and Innolux with 11.6%. OLED shipments: Korea is projected to dominate with 85.2% of total large-area OLED shipments, followed by China with 14.8%. Key players: Samsung Display is expected to lead with 55.1%, followed by LG Display with 30.1% and EDO with 12.0%. 'Tablet PC OLED shipments are forecast to decline by 0.4% YoY in 2025 – an improvement from the previous forecast of -1.9% YoY - but still reflecting negative growth due to slower demand from Chinese PC brands and OEMs," explained Su. 'TV and monitor display shipments are expected to decline in 2025 as panel makers work to protect panel prices and avoid further losses. However, panel makers — particularly those in China — have set aggressive shipment targets for mobile PC displays, where panel makers from other regions still hold a 42.8% market share (as of 2024). This push is aimed at capturing greater market share and is expected to contribute to an overall increase in large-area display shipments during the same period,' concluded Su. U.S. firms scramble to secure rare-earth magnets — imports from China surge 660%
China's exports of rare-earth magnets to the United States in June surged more than seven times from the prior month, as American firms clamor to get hold of the critical elements following a preliminary Sino-U.S. trade deal. In April, Beijing placed restrictions on several critical magnets, used in advanced tech such as electric vehicles, wind turbines and MRI machines, requiring firms to receive licenses for export. The move was seen as retaliation against U.S. President Donald Trump's steep tariffs on China. Beijing has a stranglehold on the production of rare-earth magnets, with an estimated 90% of the market, as well as a similar hold on the refining of rare-earth elements, which are used to make magnets. The U.S. received about 353 metric tons of rare-earth permanent magnets in June, up 660% from the previous month, data released by the General Administration of Customs showed, though the exports were about half that from June last year. The U.S. was the second-largest destination for China's rare-earth magnets, behind Germany, as it relies heavily on their imports for its large manufacturing sector, particularly in automotive, electronics, and renewable energy. In total, China exported 3,188 metric tons of rare earth permanent magnets globally last month, up nearly 160% from May, but 38% lower compared with the same period last year. The growth in exports came after Washington and Beijing agreed last month on a trade framework that included easing controls on Chinese rare-earth exports as well as a rollback of some American tech restrictions for shipments to China. AI behemoth Nvidia said last week it was planning to resume shipments of its H20 AI chips to China, after the exports were restricted in April. Last month, controls on American AI chip software companies' business in China had also been rolled back. Chinese rare-earth magnet producers started announcing the approval of export licenses last month. If exports continue to increase, it will be of great benefit to companies that have been suffering from shortages of magnets due to the lengthy time required to secure export licenses. For example, several European auto-parts suppliers were forced to halt production in recent months. The magnet shortages had also hit emerging industries such as humanoid robotics. In April, Elon Musk said production of Tesla's Optimus humanoid robots had been disrupted. China's controls on its rare-earths sector have prompted some global governments to reexamine their rare-earth supply chains and search for ways to support domestic mining of the minerals. However, experts say that setting up alternatives to China's rare-earth magnet supply chain could take years, as it requires an intricate process of rare-earth element refining and separation. "The separation process is quite complex, and China has a lot of advantages in this after putting in decades of research into the processes," Yue Wang, a senior consultant of rare earths at Wood Mackenzie, told CNBC last month. One way that the U.S. has been trying to compensate for lack of rare-earth magnets is through increased recycling. Apple and miner MP Materials announced a $500 million deal last week for the development of a recycling facility that will reinforce the iPhone maker's U.S. magnet supply chain. Peter Alexander from financial consultancy Z-ben Advisors said that Washington's latest concessions on tech restrictions were a reflection of just how much leverage China has in its trade relationship with the United States, speaking on CNBC's "China Connection" on Monday.
