What tactics is ICE using to trick illegal immigrants and arrest them?
One of the eyewitnesses told the New York Post that on Wednesday morning, two individuals wearing electric company attire appeared in a south Tucson neighbourhood, inquiring about a Honduran resident who had lived there for more than ten years, as reported by the Arizona Daily Star.

The individuals identified themselves as Tucson Electric Power (TED) representatives and informed neighbours they were responding to the man's request for city services, according to witness Christine Cariño.
"He said, 'We're trying to find somebody that wanted a free estimate,'" stated Cariño, who was tending to her plants nearby.
Cariño noted their attire didn't match standard TED uniforms - one wore a reflective work shirt whilst the other had on a black t-shirt.
She became wary when they persistently questioned her about her neighbour. Upon noticing a badge beneath one man's shirt, she questioned their DHS affiliation.
"He just smiled. So I took off running," Cariño said.
After the men gained access to the Honduran resident's garden through his stepson, Cariño began alerting them.
"Don't open the door, they don't have a warrant!" she shouted, as captured in footage obtained by KGUN 9. "They're lying, they're not in a uniform!"
Without a warrant, immigration officials require occupant consent to enter premises.
Cariño suggests these individuals misrepresented themselves to gain entry.
The agents, speaking through the door, claimed the Honduran had missed immigration court appointments, which he contested before refusing to exit.
Similar tactics have reportedly been employed nationwide by immigration officials, previously challenged as unconstitutional in a 2020 ACLU California complaint, which remains unresolved.
Anther case from Dellas came where ICE agents , reportedly in plain clothes, wait in the hallways of Dallas immigration court to make arrests.

Who is Ghislaine Maxwell and why her testimony could change the Jeffrey Epstein case
Ghislaine Maxwell, the former British socialite and convicted sex offender, may be ready to speak out about her long-standing association with Jeffrey Epstein. According to a report in the New York Post, Maxwell is expected to meet US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to explore the possibility of a deal in exchange for cooperation with federal authorities. Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year sentence at a low-security prison in Florida, was convicted in 2021 for recruiting and grooming young girls for Epstein, who died by suicide in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking. 'She's going to make a deal,' said noted lawyer Alan Dershowitz, who once represented Epstein. 'That's how it works. They make deals with mafia members, and they'll likely do the same here.' Ghislaine Maxwell is the daughter of late British media tycoon and former Member of Parliament Robert Maxwell, who once owned the Daily Mirror and publishing giant Macmillan. Known for her elite connections, Ghislaine was a regular in high society circles and even counted Britain's Prince Andrew among her close friends, often being spotted at royal residences, including Windsor Castle, the news agency AP reported. However, her life took a dramatic turn after her father's mysterious death in 1991, when he fell off his yacht. Investigations later revealed that Robert Maxwell had embezzled millions from his companies' pension funds, sending shockwaves through the UK. It was soon after his death that Ghislaine Maxwell was seen seated beside American financier Jeffrey Epstein at a memorial service, marking the beginning of a controversial partnership. Maxwell reportedly dated Epstein and later became a key figure in his inner circle, managing his multiple residences and staff. She has since been convicted for her role in Epstein's sex trafficking operation and is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence in the US. Legal experts believe Maxwell could hold critical information about the full scope of Epstein's sex trafficking operation, including names of both victims and alleged perpetrators. Some of Epstein's victims were reportedly forced to recruit others, further complicating the case. Maxwell, often referred to as the 'Rosetta Stone' of the Epstein scandal, is believed to have deep insight into both Epstein's circle and his finances. Though she has largely remained silent, Maxwell has indicated through her brother Ian Maxwell that she is willing to testify before a Congressional committee. If that happens, it would mark the first time her full version of events is heard by federal authorities. Until now, she has maintained her innocence and refused plea negotiations. The case has resurfaced after the US Justice Department announced plans to release information from recent FBI raids on Epstein's properties, only to later reverse the decision. This renewed focus has made Maxwell's account more significant than ever. The Justice Department has maintained there is no existing 'client list' linked to Epstein's alleged network. Maxwell's brother, Ian, has echoed that claim, stating that what some refer to as a 'list' was merely a high-profile address book, not evidence of trafficking. He also insists that his sister should never have been prosecuted, citing Epstein's 2007 plea deal in Florida, which promised immunity to his co-conspirators. However, New York prosecutors successfully argued that the deal was not applicable outside Florida. Maxwell has been incarcerated since 2022 at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee. Her family has repeatedly raised concerns over her safety, citing poor living conditions, solitary confinement, and a lack of adequate staffing at the prison. With her legal appeal options dwindling, barring a final petition to the US Supreme Court, Maxwell may now be more inclined to cooperate in hopes of a sentence reduction. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump, who has previously dismissed the Epstein case as a 'hoax,' responded to the news of possible cooperation by saying, 'It sounds appropriate to do, yeah,' according to Politico. As questions around Epstein's death and his powerful connections continue to spark speculation, Ghislaine Maxwell's testimony may finally shed light on one of the most scandalous and mysterious criminal cases of recent decades.

Hunter Biden blasted as ‘delusional' for profanity-filled rant against Trump deportations, ‘He really lives in a bubble'
Hunter Biden ripped Donald Trump as a 'f—ing dictator thug' for his move to deport violent illegal immigrants to an El Salvadorian prison complex. During a lengthy interview with Andrew Callaghan, Hunter even mused about invading the Latin American country if he were in office. Hunter Biden blasted as 'delusional' for profanity-filled rant against Trump deportations (AP Photo/Eric Thayer, File)(AP) 'I would pick up the phone and call the president in El Salvador and say, you either f—ing send them back or I'm going to f—ing invade,' Hunter said. 'It's a f—ing crime what they're doing.' Hunter went on to slam Democrats for appeasing what he referred to as the 'f—ing Trumpian sense' of white voters. He also ripped Americans who made illegal immigration a major issue during the presidential election in 2024. 'People are really upset about illegal immigration? F— you. How do you think your hotel room gets cleaned? How do you think you have food on your f—ing table? Who do you think washes your dishes?' Hunter raged. 'Who do you think is here by the f—ing shear f—ing just grit and will that they figured out a way to get here because they thought that they could give themselves and their families a better chance and [Trump's] somehow convinced all of us that these people are the f—ing criminals,' he added. 'How do you think that we are reborn?' During his term as the US President, Joe Biden had significantly eased up on illegal immigration, leading to a huge border crisis. Polls showed that this issue negatively affected Biden and his party, according to the New York Post. However, Hunter raged against those calling for Democrats to moderate. 'White men in America are 45 more times likely to commit a f—ing violent crime than an immigrant,' Hunter said. 'And the media says, you got David Axelrod and Rahm f—ing Emanuel — so f—ing smart Rahm Emanuel … that we got to understand that these people are really mad and we got to appeal to these white voters.' Hunter also said that his father was the only person who appealed to 'those f—ing white voters,' not because the former president did not appease 'their f—ing Trumpian sense, but because he challenged it.' 'How do you think that we are reborn? How do you think that we think that we attract the smartest people in the world to the United States of America? Through immigration,' he added, contrasting the US with China and Russia. 'Spoken like a true elitist' Hunter has been criticised for his profanity-filled rant by social media users. 'Why isnt Hunter Biden in prison yet?' one user commented on the above video. Another user wrote, 'Spoken like a man who lives out of hotel rooms, doesn't cook or provide for himself (or anyone else) or wash his dishes. Which I guess is the target audience and ultimate goal for Democrats.' 'Why is Hunter suddenly the spokesman for the service industry? Last I checked, his expertise was in "art" sales and foreign board seats, not dishwashing. Sounds like deflection,' one user wrote, while another said, 'I didn't realize you had to be an illegal to be an employee. Is he on drugs? Oh wait….' 'Literally never had anyone do any of that stuff for me. He really lives in a bubble,' one user wrote, while another said, 'Spoken like a true elitist. The average American never rents a hotel room, makes their own food and washes their own dishes.' 'Hunter Biden's entitlement is off the charts! The fact he thinks migrants are here to serve him is pathetic and delusional. Most of us actually cook our own food, clean our own homes, wash our own dishes, and even plant our own gardens. Reality check needed,' wrote a user. Another said, 'It's very telling that certain people perceive illegal immigrants as nothing above a servant — as if that's their only value or purpose.'

US Quitting UNESCO Again, Second Time Under Trump Administration
Last Updated: The US has now pulled out of UNESCO for the third time and second time under the Trump administration. The United States on Tuesday announced that it will pull out of UNESCO, only two years after rejoining, for the third time, citing its anti-Israel bias. 'President Trump has decided to withdraw the United States from UNESCO — which supports woke, divisive cultural and social causes that are totally out-of-step with the commonsense policies that Americans voted for in November," White House deputy spokesperson Anna Kelly told the New York Post. However, UNESCO and the White House have not confirmed the US move so far. This will be the third time that the US would quit UNESCO, based in Paris, and the second time during the Trump administration. Previously, Trump had pulled out during his first term, and the US rejoined the organisation after a five-year period when the Joe Biden administration applied to return to UNESCO. This decision will take effect at the end of December 2026, The Washington Times reported. French President Emmanuel Macron reacted to the development and said that the US withdrawal will not weaken their commitment. 'Unwavering support for UNESCO, a universal guardian of science, the Ocean, education, culture, and world heritage. The withdrawal of the United States will not weaken our commitment alongside those who lead this fight," Macron said. The US decision is not likely to surprise UNESCO officials, as they had already expected it after the Trump administration ordered a special review earlier this year. They also believed Trump might withdraw again because it was his political rival, former President Joe Biden, who had brought the US back into UNESCO in 2023. In 2017, the Trump administration said the US would leave UNESCO, claiming the agency was biased against Israel. The withdrawal became official in 2018. Both the US and Israel had already stopped funding UNESCO back in 2011, after it accepted Palestine as a member. Before that, the US had also left UNESCO in 1984 during President Reagan's time, saying the agency was poorly run, corrupt, and supported Soviet interests. The US rejoined in 2003 when George W Bush was President. view comments First Published: July 22, 2025, 19:26 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
