On June 25, the award-winning artist took to Facebook to share a deeply personal account of assault at the hands of her boyfriend, shocking many fans and prompting important discussions about the pervasive issue of domestic violence in the country. In a now-deleted series of posts, Makhadzi shared graphic images of her injuries, underscoring the severity of the situation. "I was beaten like a chicken on Christmas Day. I will tell my story. "An Oprah Winfrey Special: The Menopause Revolution" seeks to dismantle the stigma associated with menopause and enable women to find the help and information they need. Image: Instagram. The queen of talk shows, Oprah Winfrey, once again takes the lead in tackling a subject that affects millions of women: menopause. In 2023, Winfrey opened conversations around menopause with her groundbreaking special, "The Menopause Talk". Now, she returns to this vital subject in an even more profound way with "An Oprah Winfrey Special: The Menopause Revolution". In the special, which is currently streaming on Disney+, Winfrey brings together a powerhouse panel of guests, including actresses Halle Berry and Naomi Watts, along with journalist Maria Shriver. Each of these influential figures bravely shares their stories of misdiagnosis and the often-painful symptoms they faced. Also joining the discussion are expert voices such as Dr Mary Claire Haver, a specialist in women's health and Dr Rhonda Voskuhl, a neurologist renowned for her work on menopause, who provide important medical insights. Meanwhile, comedian Leanne Morgan adds a bit of humour to the show with her own relatable stories surrounding perimenopause and menopause. Menopause remains a natural biological process that affects millions of females, yet it has long been considered a taboo topic. Next Stay Close ✕ "This show starts the revolution of answers for millions of women throughout this country. We discuss what you need to know to best advocate for yourself when it comes to mental health, sleep, weight, sex and your brain so we can ultimately see how freeing menopause can be in your life, with the best yet to come," Winfrey says at the beginning. She continues: "I experienced symptoms of menopause for around two years before realising what was happening to my body. "The first time you have any of the symptoms, that's when you need to go find a doctor who will listen to you, hear you and take action for you." At one point, Winfrey asks award-winning actress Berry: "What has been the thing that actually has surprised you most about this phase in your life?" Berry, who thought she could escape this life transition, reveals: "I thought I was going to skip it. Nobody brought it up to me, ever ... It's a reality we all face." Despite the vast number of women experiencing menopause yearly, it often remains underfunded in research. Symptoms like depression, anxiety, irregular periods and loss of libido are routinely overlooked or misunderstood. "An Oprah Winfrey Special: The Menopause Revolution" not only addresses the big questions but also offers practical guidance to women navigating this significant life change. It's a compelling and necessary conversation aimed at breaking the silence surrounding menopause and encouraging women to take charge of their health, and ultimately creating a supportive community that celebrates this transition.

'Risked it all': Where is Nandipha Magudumana's husband?
Nandipha Maguduman's recent court appearance has left many South Africans questioning how and why she gave up her glamorous and successful life – and her marriage – to embark on a criminal spree with fellow-accused, Thabo Bester. The alleged couple are currently facing charges of orchestrating his 2022 prison escape, defrauding the public, and violating multiple bodies. They appeared at the Free State High Court for a pre-trial hearing, which has been postponed to 19 September. Their trial is set to begin on 10 November at the Bloemfontein High Court. With all eyes on Nandipha, many want to know where her other half, Mr Magudumana, is. Despite being a married woman, the celebrity aesthetics doctor allegedly embarked on an affair with Thabo Bester while he was behind bars for a rape and murder conviction in 2012. At the time, Nandipha was married to Mkhuseli Magudumana, who is a paediatric medical doctor. The former couple shares two daughters together: Ayana and Aziza. But according to an affidavit, Nandipha claimed she was Bester's 'customary wife.' In a tweet posted following her arrest, former friend Redi Tlhabi claims the couple divorced in 2022. However, conflicting reports claim that Nandipha is still legally married to Mkhuseli Magudumana, who has kept a low profile since her arrest. Where is Nandipha Magudumana's husband Mkhuseli? Images via Instagram: @drnandi/ Showmax In Nandipha's 2024 bail application, she revealed that she is currently separated from her husband. In a sworn statement, Nandipha claimed that she met Thabo Bester at Wits University in 2006, where he allegedly studied theology. Official reports have revealed that Bester only has a grade 7 education. Nandipha also claimed that she and Bester began dating in 2017, and he paid lobola for her in 2020. While Nandipha Magudumana's frail appearance has concerned many South Africans, others have claimed that she is merely playing the public empathy card. Some even insinuated that she was no better than Thabo Bester himself. In court appearances, Nandipha Magudumana has appeared to read her Bible, pray, and sing, all while under the watchful eye of clicking cameras. Months after her arrest, the mom-of-two was in tears when her attorney claimed that Thabo Bester had 'forced' her to skip the country with her. In a letter written during Women's Month, Nandipha also claimed that she was abused by many men in her life, possibly including Bester.
