The best Prime Day deals are coming in fast now. With less than 24 hours to go until the sale event kicks off in earnest, the deals are only getting better.
As someone who describes herself as a major bookworm (my author bio below literally says you can find me reading in my spare time before anything else), I need to get in on the Kindle hype. Sure, I love physical books, but I live in a tiny 1-bed apartment, and I am very quickly running out of space. I've already filled up two bookshelves, and I've got many more books in storage at my parents' house.
So when I found this awesome Kindle Colorsoft deal for $151 off, I knew I had to share it. Even though the Colorsoft only came out last year, it's already crashed to its lowest ever price in this bundle deal. Not only do you get a Kindle, you also get a vegan leather case and a wireless charging dock for just $211.
The Kindle Colorsoft bundle is currently a massive $150 off. Its MSRP is $362, and right now it's just $211. You get: a Kindle Colorsoft, a vegan leather case, and a wireless charging station. A Kindle Colorsoft by itself is $279, so you're saving $68 and getting two extra products. That's an awesome deal if you ask me.
In our 4.5-star review of the Kindle Colorsoft, Computing writer Tony wrote, "As the company's first color Kindle, the Kindle Colorsoft is an absolute winner and one of the best Kindles available. Though it's certainly pricey, it's the Kindle I've always wanted." (Well, I've got news for you — with this $68 saving, the complaint that it's "certainly pricey" is irrelevant!
But don't think you have to read color texts like comics or graphic novels to take full advantage of the Colorsoft's new screen. While Tony outlined that the color display is the Colorsoft's main selling point, the "monochrome performance remains strong and it's just as good for reading novels...black text looks nice and bold thanks to the Colorsoft's boosted contrast."
The fun doesn't end there — Amazon also offers Kindle Unlimited for $12 a month. Kindle Unlimited is basically like an online library, and it means you can "borrow" up to 20 books simultaneously. The library contains over 5 million ebooks and audiobooks. Some Prime users can even get a 3-month trial now!
I'm known for devouring books in a few days, so maybe I should just bite the bullet and save $$$ with a Kindle — at this price, it's almost unmissable.

Missed Prime Day? The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is still on sale at 27% off

If you missed the tablet deals of Prime Day for any reason, the good news is that there are still some amazing discounts available on Amazon. If you don't mind going for a previous-generation model for more savings, check out the 256GB model of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, which is on sale at 27% off. From its original price of $920, it's down to just $670 for huge savings of $250, but probably not for much longer as this is a limited-time offer. You need to hurry if you don't want to miss out on this bargain! Why you should buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 has been overshadowed by its successors — the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series — but it remains a solid choice as a tablet. As the smallest cousin of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is equipped with an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen with an up to 120Hz refresh rate, which keeps it portable while still providing a nice display for watching streaming shows, playing mobile games, and browsing social media. The tablet is also durable with its Armor Aluminum frame and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, so feel free to take it anywhere you go. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip powers the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, and while the processor isn't as powerful as the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, it still does an excellent job of making sure the tablet runs smoothly. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 also comes with an S Pen stylus as an extra way to use the device, which will come in handy for some of the features that are made possible by Galaxy AI. Samsung tablet deals are always popular, which is why we think stocks are already running low for this offer from Amazon — the 256GB version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 at 27% off. It's not the latest model, but it's still a pretty impressive device by today's standards, especially if you can get it for only $670 instead of its sticker price of $920. The $250 discount isn't going to stick forever, and in fact, it could be gone as soon as tomorrow, so buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 right now if you want to get it for a more affordable price than usual.

Amazon Web Services launches Kiro for writing code with AI help

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy speaks during an Amazon Devices launch on Febriuary 26 in New York where the company unveiled Alexa+, with AI features. On Monday, Amazon Web Services announced Kiro, allows developers to write code with help from artificial intelligence. Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo July 14 (UPI) -- Amazon Web Services on Monday released Kiro, a program that allows developers to write code with help from artificial intelligence. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy launched the service in a post on X. "Introducing Kiro, an all-new agent IDE [Integrated Development Environment] that has a chance to transform how developers build software," Jassy wrote about the service from Amazon's Web Services, which is the leading provider of cloud infrastructure. Amazon's name doesn't appear in the announcement, Geekwire noted. AWS launched in 2006 and includes storage and computing power. In 2024, its revenue was $107.6 billion. Overall, Amazon's revenue was $637.9 billion, including retail services, delivery, digital content, devices, Whole Foods, physical stores Vibe coding directs computers to creative software without much human direction. After the free preview ends, free and premium versions of Kiro will be available. The company plans three pricing tiers: a free version with 50 agent interactions per month; a Pro tier at $19 per user per month with 1,000 interactions; and a Pro+ tier at $39 per user per month with 3,000 interactions. Jassy noted the advantages of its program, which uses AI models from Amazon-backed Anthropic but there will be alternatives. "Kiro is really good at 'vibe coding' but goes beyond that," he said. "While other AI coding assistants might help you prototype quickly, Kiro helps you take those prototypes all the way to production by following a mature, structured development process out of the box. This means developers can spend less time on boilerplate coding and more time where it matters most -- innovating and building solutions that customers will love." Diagrams and tasks are generated to streamline development, AWS said. Kiro now can only communicate with people in English. Two product developers, Nikhil Swaminathan and Deeak Sing, gave some details on the programming service and provided a tutorial. "I'm sure you've been there: prompt, prompt, prompt, and you have a working application," they wrote. "It's fun and feels like magic. But getting it to production requires more. ... Requirements are fuzzy and you can't tell if the application meets them." They said Kir works "like an experience developer catching things you miss or completing boilerplate tasks in the background as you work. These event-driven automation triggers an agent to execute a task in the background when you save, create, delete files, or on a manual trigger." In one example, they showed how an e-commerce application for selling crafts can add a review section for users' feedback on crafts. They looked to the future, writing "the way humans and machines coordinate to build software is still messy and fragmented, but we're working to change that. Specs is a major step in that direction." Other companies are going into vibecoding, CNBC reported. Google plans to make its Gemini Code Assist more useful for software developers. On Friday, the company paid a $2.4 billion for licensing rights and top talent from AI software coding startup WIndsurf. On Monday, AI startup Cognition announced it is acquiring Windsurf's intellectual property, produce, trademark, brand and talent for an undisclosed amoint. Microsoft's GitHub's agent allows its Visual Studio Code to work in agent mode for automated software development. Anysphere has developed Cursor and plans to raise money at a $10 billion valuation. OpenAI had considered acquiring Windsurf and Cursor.
