Robbie Williams fans rage at Vienna gig disaster after 'fights broke out when VIP ticket holders were rejected from their own seats' in 'dream gig turned nightmare'

Daily Mail2 days ago
Robbie Williams fans were reportedly left furious after a ticketing disaster at the singer's Vienna gig.
The British pop star, 51, took to the stage to play for 55,000 fans at a sold-out show at Ernst-Happel-Stadion on Saturday night.
But for fans who splashed out on top dollar VIP tickets, they were left gutted when a miscommunication at the stadium saw them rejected from the exclusive seats they had paid for.
Speaking to The Mirror, fans revealed that security staff had been given the wrong information regarding wristbands and people without VIP access had been let into the Diamond zone.
This meant when people who had paid VIP prices arrived, there was no room left and they were blocked from entering the area - sparking a mid-show apology from organisers.
A fan told the publication: 'They turned a dream gig into a nightmare, we didn't get what we paid for — and they can't take that moment back.'
Meanwhile a woman who had flown from Manchester for the sold-out gig said: 'I've never felt so ripped off, I paid top money and some random person with a cheaper ticket is standing where I should be.'
People at the gig reportedly said there was total chaos at the VIP area with fans shouting and crying after being stopped from entering.
MailOnline has contacted organisers for comment.
Just a day after his Vienna gig, Robbie jetted off to the US where he belted out the new Official FIFA Anthem, Desire, alongside Italian singer Laura Pausini at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 final.
Robbie wrote and recorded the high-energy track ahead of the final, after he was confirmed as FIFA's Music Ambassador.
Coldplay and Doja Cat also performed a jaw-dropping performance during the halftime show.
Chelsea secured a surprise 3-0 win against PSG, with Cole Palmer scoring a brace while Joao Pedro was also on target.
Co-written with long-time collaborators Karl Brazil and Owen Parker, alongside Erik Jan Grob, Robbie's track made its debut in the opening show.
In a major move for FIFA, Desire will be used across all future tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup 2026 and beyond.
For the first time ever, the new anthem will play as teams walk onto the pitch at every FIFA match worldwide.
Described as a stadium-ready anthem packed with emotional energy, the song aims to capture the intensity, pride and unity that defines football on the global stage.
In his new ambassador role, Robbie has also invited iconic Italian singer Laura to feature on the track.
Speaking about the role, Robbie said: 'Music and football bring people together like nothing else - each with their own universal language of connection, emotion, spirit and community.
'When those worlds come together, there's nothing like it, and I'm beyond honoured to be the FIFA Music Ambassador.
'Football and music have both been part of my life for as long as I can remember, so this means a lot to me on a personal level.'
On the inspiration behind Desire, he added: 'I've grown up watching the walk-outs, the anthems, the drama. So writing and recording the official FIFA anthem is a real privilege.
'I wanted to create something that captures all of it - the passion, the nerves, the pride and the majesty of that feeling just before kick-off.
He continued: 'Football and music have always meant the world to me, and bringing them together on this kind of stage gives me goosebumps.
'I know I'll get to perform this song at some of my favourite tournaments in the coming years, which fills me with excitement.
'It's a real honour that Laura Pausini accepted my invitation to feature on the song – she's an incredible artist with the perfect voice.'

Sara Pascoe: I Am a Strange Gloop review – terrific standup's uphill struggles

Her last tour, Success Story, found Sara Pascoe in the loved-up phase of recent new parenthood. Reader, she has now put that phase behind her. I Am a Strange Gloop finds our host staggering shell-shocked from the soft play area to the stage, with battle-hardened tales to tell from motherhood's frontline. Ruthlessly banished from the centre of her own life, she now endures an existence 'that makes The Handmaid's Tale look progressive', cleaning up after infant sons, fielding their erratic poos, playing receptacle and canvas for vomit and passing toilet brushes. All that is amusing if familiar. So, too, her material on her manchild husband, which – coming from an act who once laid siege to gender essentialism – cleaves surprisingly to stereotype. Where our host gets sharper is in the philosophical dimension she gives this new chapter of life, conjuring with a sense of self so undermined by becoming a mum, and by shouldering adult responsibilities, that she's not sure what's left of prior-Pascoe – see one terrific joke about escaping, like her two kids did before her, from her own body. There are other ways to cheat biology, of course: the show's second recurring subject is the transhumanist fantasy of remaining forever young. There's also a counterintuitive section on AI porn, and a story about meeting Robbie Williams that brings middle-aged Sara into contact with the teenage Take That fan she used to be. This may not add up to as tight or conceptually rich a show as the 44-year-old has delivered in years gone by. Her closing set-piece, a new chapter she's written to add to the Bible, is apropos of nothing that precedes it. But she delivers some fine material – about Sisyphus, revolting against capitalism, and an excellent running joke (in more ways than one) about Paula Radcliffe – even if doesn't unite into a coherent whole. Forever young? That's not happening. Forever interesting? Without a doubt. Touring until 29 March

The President watched on at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey as Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to be named world champions of club football. However, when all the medals had been handed out, the 79-year-old was still seen holding a medal. Following a glance from Infantino, he then placed the medal into his inside suit pocket. He then walked over to the large trophy to present it to the Blues. Trump and Infantino walked it over together before handing it to Chelsea captain Reece James. But there was confusion in their ranks as Trump then refused to leave the podium and was caught up in the eager Chelsea celebrations. Trump has since revealed that the original Club World Cup trophy is currently being held in the White House's Oval Office. He revealed that he had asked about when they would take it, but he was told they can keep it "forever". The Republican told Dazn: "I said, When are you going to pick up the trophy? "[They said] 'We're never going to pick it up. You can have it forever in the Oval Office. We're making a new one.' Hilarious moment Trump gets caught inside Chelsea's trophy celebrations as Cole Palmer dances next to beaming Don "And they actually made a new one [for Chelsea]. So that was quite exciting, but right now [the original] is in the Oval.' Trump's presence at the game itself was a mixed bag. He was met by both applause and boos from the 80,000-strong crowd. Trump later told reporters: "We had a great time." He also labelled the crowd as "tremendous". Regardless, following the game POTUS joked he would sign an executive order to rename soccer, as it is known in the States, to its European name, football. The Club World Cup is the preamble for the US joint-hosting the World Cup proper next summer. Fifa have estimated as many as 6.5 million fans will be welcomed to stadiums across Canada, Mexico and the US for the tournament, with possibly more set to pack into fan parks. The 2026 World Cup will feature a record 48 teams playing across 16 cities.

Trump: FIFA gifted Club World Cup trophy to White House

Eventually, Chelsea captain Reece James managed to hoist the trophy, designed by Tiffany and Co. and inspired by the Voyager space probes. Still, per the president, that may not have been the same trophy that has spent much of the last few months sitting in the Oval Office. Here's what President Trump said about the Club World Cup trophy: Club World Cup: Chelsea put on show in final -- only to have Trump steal their moment Trump: Original Club World Cup trophy remains at White House On Sunday, Club World Cup broadcaster DAZN conducted an interview with President Trump, who declared that he was told by FIFA that the trophy originally unveiled at the White House back in March could remain there in perpetuity. "I said, 'When are you going to pick up the trophy?' claimed Trump, before stating that FIFA officials replied, "'We're never going to pick it up. You can have it forever in the Oval Office. We're making a new one.' And they actually made a new one. So that was quite exciting, but it is in the Oval [Office] right now." FIFA had not previously announced plans to make a second Club World Cup trophy, while Chelsea's official Instagram page included a photo of airplane pilots holding the trophy -- replica or not -- before the team departed for London. The Club World Cup trophy seems to have become part of the decor in the Oval Office since Infantino joined Trump to reveal its design to the world. It has been present for some soccer-related moments, like a bizarre event where the president offered his take on world affairs while confused-looking Juventus players stood in the background. However, it has also remained in the Oval Office during moments with no soccer context, lingering in the background as Trump awarded Elon Musk a key to the White House in May, among other instances.
