Alia Bhatt calls for peace amid India and Pakistan tensions; says 'our soldiers are awake, alert, and in danger'
Alia Bhatt
shared an emotional and powerful statement calling for peace while also paying tribute to the
Indian armed forces
.
In a heartfelt social media note posted on Tuesday, Bhatt reflected on the 'stillness' in the atmosphere and the quiet courage of soldiers defending the nation at the borders. Bhatt in her note, struck a tone of solidarity and empathy, acknowledging the gravity of the current situation for the soldiers and their families, all while calling for peace.
"The last few nights have felt... different," Alia began her note and went on to add, "There's a certain stillness in the air when a nation holds its breath. And over the past few days we've felt that stillness. That quiet anxiety. That pulse of tension that hums beneath every conversation, behind every news notification, around every dinner table."

Paying tribute to the soldiers and their sacrifice, she said, "We have felt the weight of knowing that somewhere, out there in the mountains, our soldiers are awake, alert, and in danger. While most of us are tucked into our homes, there are men and women standing in the dark, guarding our sleep wiith theirs. With their lives. And that reality... it does something to you. Because you realise this isn't just bravery. It's sacrifice."
Remembering the families of the soldiers, she added, "And behind every uniform is a mother who hasn't slept either. A mother who knows her child is facing a night not of lullabies, but of uncertainty. Of tension. Of Silence that can shatter in an instant."
Sharing her own thoughts and feelings after celebrating Mother's day with her daughter Raha Kapoor and hubby
Ranbir Kapoor
, Alia said, "while flowers were being handed out and hugs exchanged, I couldn't help but think of the mothers who raised heroes and carry that quiet pride with just a little more steel in their spine."
Honouring those who lost their lives over the past few days, the actress wrote, "We mourn the lives that have been lost, soldiers who will never come home, whose names are now etched in soul of this country. May their families find strength in the nation's gratitude."
"So tonight and every night forward, we hope for less silence born of tension and more silence born of peace. And send love to every parent out there holding prayers, holding back tears. Because your strength moves the nation more than you'll ever know."
She concluded her note saying, "We stand together. For our protectors. For India. Jai Hind."
Bhatt's note comes shortly after her mother,
Soni Razdan
penned a strongly worded note, urging restraint. Taking to her Instagram stories, she penned a note that read, "Anyone who thinks that a war is desirable has no idea what it really means. Anyone who thinks a prolonged war with Pakistan is desirable is delusional. In just 3 days so many civilians lost their lives."
Warning of the threat of nuclear warfare, she said, "We may think we are strong and we are. But in such a war no one wins except the player who's watching from the stands while we blow each other up."
Slamming those calling for war, she said, "Because you want war. Don't expect someone else to do your dirty work for you."
She clarified that "When it comes to defending our nation and our people we have no choice," she warned, "Be aware of the difference that is all. And pray that it doesn't come to pass."
Calling for the nation to pray for the soldiers on the front lines, she said, "Prayers for those who keep us safe. They are the true angels. Don't be so quick to send them into danger."

Director Lokesh Kanakaraj, whose much-awaited action entertainer ' Coolie ' features Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, has now disclosed in an interview that Rajinikanth is in the process of writing his autobiography and that he had been writing every day during the last two schedules of ' Coolie '. What is the big thing Rajinikanth is planning? In a video interview with a media publication, the ace director said, '.. in the last two schedules, sir was busy with writing his autobiography. He used to write every day.' The director then went on to say, 'Every day, I would ask him,'What episode are you in?' 'What phase are you in?'. He (Rajinikanth) would then let me know that this is what happened in his 42nd year and that this is what happened at a later stage.' Rajinikanth shared this with Lokesh Kanakaraj Stating that the superstar shared with him details that he didn't share with anyone else, Lokesh said that the experience was one that would always remain close to his heart. 'So, it is like very close to my heart. What you take away is that experience that man has seen. One common factor that connects not just me but everybody else in our state to him is all the hurdles that he has overcome,' Lokesh said. Meanwhile, Coolie has already made headlines by becoming the highest overseas procurement for a Tamil film to date. Rumours doing the rounds in the industry also suggest that director Lokesh Kanakaraj's much awaited action entertainer may well reach audiences in over a 100 countries around the world when the film hits screens on August 14 this year. Hamsini Entertainment, a key player in international film distribution, is backing the film's global distribution. Sources in the industry claim that with 'Coolie', Hamsini Entertainment is gearing up for their biggest release yet, targeting distribution in over a 100 countries, making it one of the most widespread international releases for an Indian film. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also stars stalwarts from the Indian film industry like Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir and Shruti Haasan. Anirudh has composed the music for the film, marking his fourth consecutive film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Cinematography for the film is by Girish Gangadharan and editing is by Philomin Raj. The film is keenly awaited as it will feature actors Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth together after almost 38 years. The two were last seen together in the superhit Tamil film 'Mr Bharath', which was released in 1986 and in which Sathyaraj played Rajinikanth's father. Interestingly, Sathyaraj had turned down offers to act in some of Rajinikanth's earlier films like 'Enthiran' and 'Sivaji'. 'Coolie', which is Rajinikanth's 171st film, will revolve around gold smuggling. Interestingly, director Lokesh Kanakaraj has disclosed that 'Coolie' will be a stand alone film and not a part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe

RJ Mahvash shares video of Yuzvendra Chahal's birthday celebration, says ‘iPhone waale party ke photos bhej nahi rahe'
Actor RJ Mahvash posted a birthday celebration video for her rumoured partner, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, on Instagram. She shared a video of Chahal celebrating his birthday in a restaurant on Instagram along with a quirky message for him. She wrote,'@yuzi_chahal23 iphone wale party ke photos bhej nai rahe isko par mere pas yehi ek tha, ye rakhle mast." RJ Mahvash' Instagram story. Prior to the birthday celebration video, Mahvash shared a birthday message for Chahal, which read, 'Happy Birthday Yuzi! Getting older is a part of life and other parts are even worse. So all the best @yuzi_chahal23.' Cricketer Chahal marked his 35th birthday on July 23 in London. A video from the celebration emerged online. Chahal looked visibly excited and hugged Mahvash, who was all smiles as she watched him enjoy the event. The rumours about Mahvash and Chahal's relationship surfaced amid the cricketer's separation from his ex-wife, Dhanashree Verma. The rumours began after they were spotted at a Christmas event last year. Chahal was seen at the Champions Trophy final in Dubai with Mahvash after his separation from Dhanashree Verma this year, sparking relationship rumours again. RJ Mahvash has repeatedly said that they are just friends. She also posted a story on Instagram that said, "Some articles and speculations have been circulating around the internet. It's literally funny to see how baseless these rumours are. If you get seen with a person of the opposite gender, does that mean you are dating them? I'm sorry, what year is this? And how many people are you all dating then?" She further added, 'I have been patient for 2-3 days now, but I won't let any PR teams drag my name into this to cover up other people's images. Let people live in peace with their friends and family during tough times.' Nevertheless, during a 2025 IPL Trophy match, she was seen boarding the Punjab Kings team bus with the wives and girlfriends of cricketers, fueling relationship rumours again.
