André 3000 Wore a Grand Piano to the 2025 Met Gala
Turns out there was a reason for such an accessory statement: On his way to the Met, André 3000 dropped a surprise new EP, 7 Piano Sketches. (As the title suggests, the album includes seven piano-solo tracks.) The piano was meant to tie into his new musical project—his first release since his 2023 release of his epochal, much-talked-about flute-based album, New Blue Sun. According to GQ, André first had the idea to wear a large piano when he was laying down some piano tracks over a decade ago. Tonight, he made that dream come true—and totally shut down the red carpet as a result.
'It wasn't like we said, 'Okay, we got to check these boxes to find this dandy thing to do,'' the star told GQ of his look. 'My understanding of dandyism is your own personal outburst in fashion, or your own exclamation point on fashion. You don't really have to try for it.'

THE RUNDOWN A sequel to The Devil Wears Prada wouldn't be complete without a scene at some version of the Met Gala. Luckily, the movie filmed their take on the iconic fashion event on Friday, August 1, at the Museum of Natural History. Photos from the set show Meryl Streep dressed as her character, Miranda Priestly, wearing her idea of a perfect red carpet ensemble. Naturally, it's stunning. In the new behind-the-scenes images, Streep can be seen posing with Stanley Tucci, playing Nigel, wearing a rich red gown with an asymmetrical neckline, one long sleeve, and a dramatic full skirt. She had her short platinum hair swept back and wore statement earrings with red and white jewels and a red stone ring. Tucci wore a black tux with a polka dot bowtie and a long black and white scarf. Bridgerton's Simone Ashley, who plays a new character in The Devil Wears Prada 2, was also seen on set in a sculptural take on the little black dress. The skin-tight ensemble featured sheer panels across her torso and an elevated neckline of netted fabric decorated with black rhinestones. She accessorized with a small black purse, hair ornaments, and shimmering tights. Ashley's character details have been kept under wraps so far. Aside from Streep and Tucci, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt are returning for the sequel, and new cast members reportedly include Lucy Liu, Pauline Chalamet, Kenneth Branagh, Tracie Thomas, B.J. Novak, and Justin Theroux. Hathaway recently spoke about returning to the world of DWP with WWD. The star is also reprising her role in the upcoming The Princess Diaries 3. 'I was so beautifully cared for on both of those films,' she said of her experience as a young actress on set in the original movies. 'I was so guided and looked after and cared for by the communities that made both of those films in particular, each of their directors, Garry Marshall and David Frankel.' She added, 'I'm so excited that now I can do that for other people, that now I have the knowledge and the experience and the confidence to take care of other people on sets in which I'm looked at as a leader.'

The music video begins as the singer, 32, walks confidently down a dark street. "I'm not so sure, I've ever felt like this before," she sings. She continues walking and singing, seemingly unfazed by weight-lifiting men, an exploding car and a nun smoking a cigarette. Her husband Jordan Lutes offered his support of her work on Instagram, commenting on her post announcing the latest drop. "Beyond proud of you baby," he wrote. "This song and video are insane." The song will appear on her upcoming album. "She is such a master in the studio. This album is about letting inhibitions go, and we had so much fun making this music! It really comes across throughout," Zhone, who executive produces the project, told Rolling Stone. Chappell Roan officially releases 'The Subway'

In a teaser for the music video, the singer, 27, appears to be falling asleep on the subway. Viewers then see her sitting outside, with hair that extends to her ankles, as she eats a pizza by the water. The full music video will release at 10 a.m. EDT. "I'm very proud of this song and what a journey she has been on," Chappell Roan wrote on Instagram, in a post announcing her new music. "I first played it at gov ball when I was painted green as lady liberty and in the past have played new songs live to feel them out. Obviously not knowing this really chaotic year would follow the performance, it didn't really leave me the time to build the world the song deserved." "But finally, we are here," she continued. "I def ripped my hair out trying to figure out the puzzle of how this song should feel musically and visually and emotionally..." She released her single "The Giver" in March. "The Subway" is also expected to appear on her second studio album.
