What majors has Scottie Scheffler won?

Entering Sunday's final round at The Open Championship, Scottie Scheffler was in a prime position. Not only did the 29-year-old have a several-stroke lead thanks to a dominant first three rounds, but he also actually started adding to it over the course of the day. He was truly piecing together an all-around masterpiece. Provided Scheffler simply enters a veritable cruise control, this year's Open Championship seems like it's far and away his to lose. He's just been that good, that locked in, that focused. He's playing it's his major to win, and no one else even has a realistic chance: Now, given his youth, you might be wondering the all-too-pertinent question: at the time of this writing, how many majors has Scheffler already won? And actually, he's already on a pretty good pace, especially provided he closes out the Open. To date, Scheffler has won The Masters twice (2022 and 2024), and he also has the 2025 PGA Championship to his name. Which, phew. To put it lightly, three majors at this stage in Scheffler's career, particularly two green jackets already, is nothing to sneeze at. Which majors does Scheffler still have to win to complete a career Grand Slam? We can do math and engage in some deductive reasoning after all this discussion, can't we? At the time of this writing, Scheffler has never won the U.S. Open, and he has never won The Open Championship. His best finish at the U.S. Open was as the runner-up in 2022. Before the 2025 edition of The Open, his best finish at the tournament was taking home seventh place in 2024. Provided he maintains his composure, it sure looks like he'll only need to win the U.S. Open after this to say he's won every major. ‘Deal Agreed' – Liverpool Set to Sign £69million Forward

Liverpool Close in on Hugo Ekitike Deal: £69m Agreement with Frankfurt In a major development for Liverpool's summer transfer window, the club have agreed a £69 million (€80m) fee with Eintracht Frankfurt for striker Hugo Ekitike, according to Sky Sports News. Negotiations remain ongoing regarding bonuses, which could push the deal to £78 million (€90m). This move signals Liverpool's intent to strengthen their frontline, with Ekitike viewed as a natural replacement for Darwin Nunez, who is widely expected to leave Anfield this summer. The 22-year-old French striker scored an impressive 22 goals and provided 12 assists across all competitions for Frankfurt last season, a record that has caught the eye of Europe's elite. Ekitike's Rise to Prominence Ekitike's journey has been remarkable. After initial struggles at Paris Saint-Germain, the young forward reignited his career in Germany, becoming one of the Bundesliga's standout players last season. His combination of pace, technical skill and clinical finishing has made him a prized asset. Sky Sports News reported, 'Liverpool have agreed a fixed fee of £69m (€80m) with Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Ekitike, with talks continuing on Sunday over the bonuses in the deal.' Photo: IMAGO The inclusion of bonuses reflects how Liverpool are structuring their deals under the leadership of new head coach Arne Slot, focusing on performance-based incentives that align with the club's strategy and wage structure. Arne Slot's Forward Plans Arne Slot has wasted no time in shaping his squad following a historic debut season in which he guided Liverpool to the Premier League title. While Liverpool have been strongly linked with Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak, the club have now turned decisively towards Ekitike. The French striker's arrival will offer Liverpool a dynamic option through the middle, providing versatility and depth alongside established names like Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Florian Wirtz. Slot is believed to admire Ekitike's off-the-ball movement and his ability to stretch defences, which fits seamlessly into Liverpool's pressing system. What Ekitike Offers Liverpool Beyond the numbers, Ekitike's style promises to add a fresh dimension to Liverpool's attack. His dribbling ability, composure in front of goal and intelligent link-up play make him an ideal fit for Slot's system. The expected departure of Nunez has left some supporters concerned, but Ekitike's arrival should ease those worries. As one source put it, 'The total package in the offer could rise to £78m (€90m), but talks continue over the structure of the add-ons.' This investment underlines Liverpool's commitment to competing at the highest level and signals to rivals that they are not standing still after their title triumph. Our View – Anfield Index Analysis Liverpool fans have every reason to be thrilled about this potential signing. Hugo Ekitike is exactly the type of forward who can elevate the team further, bringing youthful energy and top-level quality. The thought of Ekitike linking up with Salah, Diaz and Wirtz is mouth-watering. His pace and technical skill are tailor-made for the Premier League, and under Arne Slot, he could explode onto the world stage. Slot's first season was already unforgettable with a Premier League title, but adding Ekitike shows the club are hungry for more, not just satisfied with past glories. Many supporters feel Ekitike's arrival could be the missing piece in the attack, especially with Nunez moving on. His goal record in Germany proves he can handle pressure, and his assist numbers show he is not just a finisher but a creator. Fans on social media are already buzzing with excitement, dreaming of Ekitike scoring in front of the Kop and terrorising Premier League defences. This deal, once finalised, will send a strong message to rivals: Liverpool are here to stay at the top, with a young and hungry squad ready to dominate for years to come.

Barcelona's new front-4 already has a nickname

The newly-established attacking quartet at La Liga giants Barcelona has been christened with a nickname on the part of the club's fans. Barcelona, of course, are fresh off tying up a deal for a new addition to Hansi Flick's frontline. Following a lightning round of negotiations with Manchester United, Deco and co. have secured the signing of Marcus Rashford. Frontman Rashford is set to arrive on loan for the season ahead, with an official announcement expected imminently. The Englishman will of course add to what is a talent-packed crop of attackers in Catalunya's capital at present. En route to a domestic treble this past season, the trio of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski were in nothing short of spectacular form. And with Rashford now in the mix, a nickname has been unveiled for the Blaugrana's explosive quartet. Owing to the trend of 'R' in the players' names – Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, 'Ryan' Yamal (a popular nickname for Lamine) and Rashford, the four have been crowned: 'The Plan R' Conor Laird – GSFN
