Empty Chinatown property scene of early fire

(Evan Klippenstein / CTV News Edmonton) Firefighters were called to a boarded-up commercial property in Chinatown early Wednesday morning. The fire at 106A Avenue and 97 Street was reported around 4:50 a.m. and was brought under control by 5:30 a.m. There were no reported injuries. CTV News Edmonton has reached out to Edmonton Fire Rescue Services to confirm the blaze is out. EFRS said the cause of the fire is under investigation. 97 Street was temporarily closed while firefighters were on scene.
