One savvy shopper was recently left beaming after browsing the aisles in her local Tesco store, in Toton, Nottingham, when she stumbled across a handy buy that's perfect for the cold weather.
Thrilled with her affordable find, which was once marked at £8 but was scanning for just 10p at the till, Suze Marie stocked up and bought four bags - yes, you heard that correctly.
Eager to alert others to the impressive discount, Suze took to social media to share a snap of her bargain buy, leaving many open-mouthed.
Posting on Yellow sticker shopping tips, tricks and hauls, a private Facebook group with 239,300 members, Suze revealed that she was lucky enough to nab four bags of the De-icing Rock Salt, which is said to make de-icing 'clean and efficient".
While Suze's haul should have set her back £32, she ended up only paying 40p, saving her an impressive £31.60.
Alongside her post, the savvy shopper beamed: '10kg rock salt reduced from £8 down to 10p per bag in my local Tesco.'
As a result of the impressive discount on the 'high purity' product, Suze claimed that she was 'stocking up for the winter'.
This 10kg handy pack of rock salt has been hailed as 'ideal for spreading across paths and driveways due to its carry handles and outlined cut-off section'.
It is said to 'work quickly to leave areas free from ice with virtually no residue'.
Not only is it 'long-lasting', but it also 'guards against refreezing' too.
Save with secret codes
It's ideal for use on 'car parks, pathways and steps' and is incredibly 'easy to apply'.
So if you have a step outside your house that you constantly slip on during the winter months, you'll need to get your shoes at the ready and head down to your nearest Tesco store.

But you'll need to move fast, as this bargain buy is sure to sell out quick.
Social media users were impressed with the whopping discount on this winter buy and many eagerly raced to the comments to express this.
Insider tip from a Tesco employee
A Tesco employee has revealed a surprising secret about the self-scan trolleys.
According to the worker, random checks on customers using these trolleys are not entirely random.
The checks are actually triggered by a specific customer habit.
If you frequently pick up and put down items without scanning them, you're more likely to be selected for a check.
This is due to the system detecting suspicious behaviour, which could indicate potential theft.
So, to avoid delays, it's best to scan items immediately after placing them in your trolley.
One person said: 'Amazing.'
Another added: 'Also melts snow and ice.'
Meanwhile, a third joked: 'Don't rub the salt in just because you got a bargain…'

Greggs could BRING BACK iconic bake it scrapped six years ago leaving fans gutted
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) BAKERY chain Greggs could bring back its fan favourite steak and cheese roll after a dairy firm pulled a cheeky Stilton stunt. Big cheeses from Clawson Farms arrived at the company's HQ in a lorry flanked by motorcycle outriders and security guards to deliver an 8kg wheel of their pongy produce. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Greggs could bring back its fan favourite steak and cheese roll after a dairy firm pulled a cheeky Stilton stunt Credit: Jason Bye It came in response to fan demands for Greggs to reinstate the bake, which it scrapped in 2019. Clawson, owned by 30 farmers near Melton Mowbray, Leics, told Greggs: 'We've got the cheese, are you bringing the roll?' When Greggs dropped its steak and cheese offering, fans went into a full-on pastry panic — with one even writing a song about it. Master cheesemaker Richard Mayfield said: 'Greggs is a big brand, so we needed to make a big statement to get their attention.' Greggs boss Roisin Currie invited the cheeky cheesemakers into the Newcastle offices for a Greggs sausage roll. She did not give anything away about the return of the fan favourite, but her reaction is seen as the first sniff of a possible return. Big cheese Keith said: 'I live near one of the busiest Greggs shops in the country – and I'm in there most mornings. When the Steak & Cheese Roll disappeared, I was gutted. So we thought, why not offer them the best cheese in Britain and help bring it back?' 'Greggs is literally in my blood — three generations of my family have worked there, so campaigning to back the cheese roll, with our stilton in it, was a no-brainer! I spend my days going up and down the country spreading the love of Stilton, but this delivery? Well, it was rolling in style. "Meeting Roisin and the team was fantastic — she welcomed us in with open arms and took the whole thing in great humour. We're just here hoping Greggs might want us back for good!' Greggs was approached to comment on a possible comeback.

Despite a like‑for‑like sales rise of 2.6 per cent and total sales of £1.03 billion for the 26 weeks to 28 June, soaring UK temperatures resulted in fewer store visits and a 13–15 per cent fall in the company's share price across major markets. On the branding front, Greggs was recently crowned the UK's strongest brand of 2025, with its value rising to over £958 million and a top-tier Brand Strength Index rating. The chain also opened its first 'Eco Drive-Thru' earlier this year, with sustainable design features aimed at reducing energy and water usage.

Tesco seeks injunction to get horses off its Galway land
Tesco is seeking a High Court injunction requiring a couple to remove horses on an eight acre site it owns in Galway. Martin and Kathlee Donovan, who live in a caravan on a halting site at Túr Uisce, Doughiska, Galway, have been keeping the horses, and using buildings as makeshift stables on the site at Briarhill Junction, Galway City, the court heard. Advertisement At a meeting with the couple last month, Tesco Ireland Ltd representatives were told they would get the horses off if they were "financially compensated" so that they could buy or rent new land to keep the animals. Tesco refused. The Donovans also claimed they have been on the site for 15 years and could claim some adverse possession (squatters rights). Tesco dispute this and say the claim is bound to fail. Galway City Council have also notified Tesco that it had to render the land "other than derelict" and the site had been placed on the derelict sites register which could result, if works are not carried out, in punitive levies and the possibility of a compulsory purchase order. It has not been possible for Tesco's contractors to get on to the land and do the necessary work due to safety concerns. Advertisement The court also heard that the Department of Agriculture also issued a notice requiring the horses to be removed. However, when inspectors arrived to see if the notice was complied with after they were gone the animals were returned to the site. Tesco has erected paladin fencing around the site boundary but locks to the gates to the site have been removed and new locks placed there, but not by Tesco. Tesco wants to develop the site and part of it has been compulsorily purchased for part of the N6 Galway Ring Road project. Mr Justice Brian Cregan, following a one side only application on behalf of Tesco, granted permission for service of the papers on the defendants at short notice. He said a "plain English" notice should also be provided in the service notice and the defendants could be informed, as well as through a phone and email address Tesco has for one of them, that the case will return next week.
