Wales women involved in bus crash as Euro 2025 training cancelled
Wales' women's team bus has been involved in a road collision on the eve of their crucial Euro 2025 game with France. The Football Association of Wales (FAW) said there were no injuries to any players or staff but their training session in St Gallen has been cancelled. The driver of the other vehicle involved is also understood to have been unharmed but an ambulance was on the scene to attend to those involved. A statement from the FAW read: 'The Football Association of Wales can confirm that the Cymru National Team bus has been involved in a road traffic accident whilst travelling to Arena St Gallen for their match-day -1 training session ahead of Wednesday's Uefa Women's Euro 2025 match against France. 'All passengers on the Cymru National Team bus and in the other vehicle are unharmed. The FAW's priority has been to remove the players from the scene and return to the Cymru training base to complete their preparations for tomorrow's match.' Manager Rhian Wilkinson and her captain Angharad James were travelling in a separate vehicle and were both in attendance for Wales' press conference, though were left shaken by the incident. 'This is really developing right now so we are trying to be as clear and transparent as possible,' Wilkinson said. 'I think everyone, from all reports, is OK and we just need to get them all together and get everyone away from the scene to reassess. We've got great staff, great support and we will make sure that everyone continues to be OK. 'More importantly I think the driver of the other vehicle is OK as well. We will let everyone know once we know for sure.' Wales take on France in St Gallen on Wednesday and need a positive result to give themselves a chance of progressing from Group D. They were beaten 3-0 by Netherlands in their opening game and will face England in their final group fixture on July 13.
