Rai said Operation Sindoor's biggest success was in securing global support unlike earlier wars with Pakistan, when India had to explain its position.
On the issue of "paid news," Rai questioned why the govt has not taken actions to curb it. He urged the creation of rules and a regulatory body to guide journalists on their responsibilities. "It should not be like the Press Council of Jawaharlal Nehru's era, which Arun Jaitley called 'a toothless tiger.' The body must regulate all media, from print to digital," he said. He called on chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to take initiative, as he did with the Uniform Civil Code.
"This body should not control the media but show it the right path, its rightful duties, and what it must avoid," Rai said.

State Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian, who presided over the event, said that it was decided to hold such a conclave following the recommendations in the Justice Hema Committee report to tackle issues of sexual exploitation, discrimination, wage disparity and unfair working conditions prevalent in the film industry. Brahmos will be manufactured in Lucknow: PM Modi hails indigenous weapons
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded India's indigenous weapons used during Operation Sindoor and said that Brahmos Missiles will soon be manufactured in Lucknow. Addressing a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, PM Modi commended India's air defence system, which countered Pakistani drones and missiles during the military operation. He said, "During Operation Sindoor, the world saw the capabilities of our indigenous weapons. Our Air Defence Systems, missiles, and drones have proved the strength of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat', especially the Brahmos missiles. Brahmos missiles will now be manufactured in Lucknow." The Prime Minister added that major defence companies are setting up their manufacturing plants in the UP defence corridor. "Many major defence firms are setting up their manufacturing plants in the UP defence corridor. Made in India weapons will soon become the strength of our forces," he said. Prime Minister Modi also hailed Operation Sindoor and said that he avenged the loss of the Pahalgam terror attack with the blessings of Lord Mahadev.
