Good news India's first bullet train project... Siemens consortium bags contract for..., its worth...
Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train: In a major development in the India's first bullet train project between Ahmedabad and Mumbai a Siemens consortium has now been awarded the contract for signalling and telecom systems on the high-speed rail corridor by National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited.
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, India's first bullet train project, is currently under construction, aiming to significantly reduce travel time between the two major cities. The project is expected to be completed by 2028.

The ETCS Level 2 signalling standard has been successfully implemented across more than 50 nations worldwide.
The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) serves as the organisation responsible for executing India's first high-speed bullet train project.

After exceptional performance of this Indian weapon during Operation Sindoor, many countries want it, weapon is..., features...

New Delhi: After Operation Sindoor, India's indigenous weapons are being praised all over the world. The latest proof of this is the increasing international demand for the state-of-the-art guided Pinaka rocket system developed in India. According to a report, countries like Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and Indonesia have shown keen interest in the Pinaka rocket. Earlier, Armenia has bought Pinaka rockets from India. This shows that the reputation and reliability of Indian weapon technology has increased significantly around the world. What makes Pinaka special? The real strength of the Pinaka rocket system is its many uses. Its lethal capability is hidden in its modern technology. It is a multi-barrel rocket launcher system (MBRL), which can fire 12 rockets at a time and a complete battery system can drop 1 ton of explosives on enemy territory in a few seconds. Its guided version, Guided Pinaka, gives it more accuracy and range. Now this system can carry out satellite-guided strikes up to a distance of more than 75 km. What are Pinaka's features? The GPS-based guidance, inertial navigation and warhead of the Pinaka rocket make it effective in all types of warfare, whether conventional or asymmetric. This is the reason why many countries are looking at it as a cheap but reliable long-range artillery strike capability. After export to Armenia, countries like Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and Indonesia have shown interest in this rocket system. If this deal with Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and Indonesia is finalized, then it will give India's defense sector a chance to take a big leap. Many more countries will sign defence agreements with India in the coming times. How much is the price? The price of the guided Pinaka rocket system is much less than the US HIMARS system. The estimated cost of each guided rocket is around $56,000 (about Rs 4.6 crore), while the entire unit, which includes launcher, fire control, command post etc., costs between Rs 140 and 150 crore. The cost of a regiment is estimated to be around Rs 850 crore, which includes six launchers and supporting systems. It has been jointly developed by DRDO and Solar Industries.

Influx of ₹14,590 cr by foreign investors in Jun; early Jul sees withdrawal

Foreign investors put in Rs 14,590 crore in the country's equity market in June, marking the third straight month of investment, supported by improving global liquidity conditions, easing geopolitical tensions, and a rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India. However, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) turned net sellers in July and pulled out Rs 1,421 crore in the first week of the month, data with the depositories showed. Going forward, in the near term, FPI flows are expected to remain choppy on account of tariff deadline developments and US data volatility, Vaqarjaved Khan, Senior Fundamental Analyst, Angel One, said. In addition, FPIs buying will hinge on Q1FY26 result indications. "If the results indicate earnings recovery, that will be positive. Disappointment on these factors can impact the market and, thereby, flows," V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments, said. According to the data with the depositories, FPIs made a net investment of Rs 14,590 crore in equities in June. This positive momentum follows a net investment of Rs 19,860 crore in May and Rs 4,223 crore in April. Prior to this, FPIs had pulled out Rs 3,973 crore in March, Rs 34,574 crore in February, and a substantial Rs 78,027 crore in January. With this, FPIs' outflow stood at Rs 79,322 crore in 2025 so far. "FPIs exhibited a cautious yet improving stance in June 2025, beginning the month with notable outflows from the equity markets driven by elevated US bond yields, trade tensions, overvalued Indian stocks and deteriorating geopolitical environment," Himanshu Srivastava, Associate Director, Manager Research, Morningstar Investment, said. However, sentiment shifted towards the later part of the month as global liquidity conditions improved, geopolitical tensions eased, the RBI cut rates, the rupee strengthened, and oil prices stabilised, he added. In the second half of June, FPIs were buyers in financials, autos and auto components, and oil and gas sectors, while they turned sellers in capital goods and power. On the other hand, FPIs pulled out Rs 6,121 crore from the debt general limit and Rs 6,366 crore from the debt voluntary retention route during the period under review.

Rajnath Singh to kick off discussions on defence financial architecture tomorrow

Policy dialogue, strategic review, and institutional innovation are expected to dominate discussions at the Controllers' Conference 2025 of the Defence Accounts Department (DAD) that will be inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday, an official said. The conference, to be held here from July 7 to 9, aims to bring together top leadership from the DAD, civil services, academia, think tanks, and stakeholders across the defence and finance sectors. 'It serves as a vital platform for evaluating challenges, initiating reform, and advancing the role of financial governance in defence preparedness,' said the Defence Ministry in a statement on Sunday. Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the conference in the presence of top military and civilian leadership, including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, the three service chiefs and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. Financial Adviser, Defence Services, S.G. Dastidar, and Controller General of Defence Accounts, Mayank Sharma, will also join the conference that promises to serve as a platform for shaping the future of India's defence financial architecture, the statement said. The theme of this year's conference, 'Transforming Financial Advice, Payment, Audit and Accounting through Defence Finance and Economics,' reflects a paradigm shift within the department, repositioning the DAD from a finance and accounts body to a future-ready institution focused on defence finance and economics, it said. This transformation, guided by the strategic vision articulated by the Defence Minister on October 1, 2024, is internally driven, inclusive, and aligned with emerging national security imperatives. The transition is anchored in the DAD's new Mission Statement and Motto 'Alert, Agile, Adaptive' which will be formally released during the event, said the statement. The conference will feature eight high-level business sessions (Manan Satras), covering areas such as budget and accounts reform, internal audit restructuring, collaborative research, pricing innovation, and capacity building. These sessions will explore the evolving role of Integrated Financial Advisors in balancing fiscal prudence with strategic support for a competitive and self-reliant defence industry. Managing a defence budget of Rs 26.8 lakh crore, including Rs 1.7 lakh crore dedicated to pensions, the DAD plays a pivotal role in payroll, pension disbursement, audit, procurement pricing, and strategic financial advice, said the statement.
