'Wednesday'-themed Meal of Misfortune available at Wendy's: See what's in it
The limited-time meal, unveiled on – you guessed it – Wednesday, July 23, is centered around four mystery sauces called the "Dips of Dread," along with "Rest in 10-Piece" nuggets, small "Cursed & Crispy" fries, and a new Frosty flavor called "Raven's Blood." The items will all be served in custom packaging, according to Wendy's.
The meal, called the "Meal of Misfortune," will coincide with the release of Season 2 of "Wednesday" on Netflix. The show will be in two parts. Part 1 will premiere on Aug. 6 at 3 a.m. ET and Part 2 will be available on Sept. 3 at 3 a.m. ET.
When and where can I get the 'Wednesday' meal?
The items will be at restaurants and via the Wendy's app nationwide beginning Monday, Aug. 4, according to Wendy's. In Canada, customers can get the meal in restaurants or via the Wendy's app starting Monday, Aug. 11.
The fast-food chain said the Meal of Misfortune will also be available at Wendy's locations in Puerto Rico, The Bahamas and Guam.
"Wendy's and Wednesday are both cultural icons famous for challenging convention with wit and a bit of sass," said Liz Geraghty, international chief marketing officer for The Wendy's Company, in a news release. "This isn't a typical collaboration, because not just any brand could scheme up a Meal of Misfortune with Wednesday Addams. But for a brand that's proudly customer-obsessed and unapologetically bold, it was a match made in dark, dry-witted heaven."
The meal has already gone viral as fans took to social media to chronicle their journey of waiting in line for hours for the meal at a restaurant in Norwalk, California, which held a special drive-thru event last week.

What kinds of sauces are the 'Dips of Dread'?
Wendy's said two mystery dipping sauces come in each meal, adding that "fate will decide which of the four dips" customers receive.
The four flavors are called:
"Don't bother asking which sauce you'll get – you must surrender to your destiny. Those brave enough to try them all must endure multiple visits," Wendy's said in the news release.

This Critically Panned Book Adaptation Is A Top Movie On Netflix Right Now
'My Oxford Year' is currently one of the top movies on Netflix, according to the platform's public ranking system. The romance film, based on Julia Whelan's 2018 novel, follows an ambitious American woman (Sofia Carson) who sets out for the University of Oxford in England to fulfill a childhood dream and ends up falling for a charming local (Corey Mylchreest). Some critics had less-than-thrilling things to say about the movie, noting its cookie-cutter characters, emotionally hollow plot and uninteresting adaptation of Whelan's text. You can read HuffPost's review of the film here. Read on for more trending movies across streaming services, including HBO Max, AmazonPrime Video and Peacock. And if you want to stay informed about all things streaming and entertainment, subscribe to the Culture Catchall newsletter. 'Final Destination Bloodlines' The latest installment of 'Final Destination' is now available to stream, and it's currently the top movie on HBO Max. The sixth movie in the grisly horror franchise takes audiences back to the very beginning, as Death's twisted ways plague a college student (Kaitlyn Santa Juana) with a violent, recurring nightmare from her grandmother's past. She must then track down the one person who can stop the vicious cycle and save her family from Death. 'War of the Worlds' 'War of the Worlds,' a sci-fi thriller starring Ice Cube and Eva Longoria, is currently the top movie on Prime Video. Based on H. G. Wells' legendary 1898 novel, the film is described as a 'fresh take' on the familiar tale about a gargantuan invasion that's 'filled with present-day themes of technology, surveillance and privacy,' according to the synopsis. The cast also includes Iman Benson, Michael O'Neill, Clark Gregg, Henry Hunter Hall, Devon Bostick and Andrea Savage. 'Borderline' The top movie on Peacock right now stars Samara Weaving in a twisted tale about an obsessive fan. 'Borderline,' which hit theaters in March, centers on a '90s pop superstar (Weaving) whose home is invaded by a helplessly romantic sociopath (Ray Nicholson) who believes they're meant to be married. Jimmie Fails, Alba Baptista and Eric Dane also star in the film. If you're looking for other films to watch, check out our What We're Watching blog. Related... Netflix just added a blockbuster action-comedy movie with John Cena — and viewers disagree with the critics
Netflix regularly offers a second chance to movies that struggled to find a large audience the first time around, and that's definitely the case with the 2023 action-comedy flop 'Freelance.' This $40 million blockbuster stars John Cena and Alison Brie, and was a box office misfire when it landed in theatres almost two years ago. It only managed to claw back around a quarter of its sizeable budget and seemed destined to be forgotten in a sea of similar summer movies. That was until it was added to Netflix U.S. as part of the service's first wave of new additions for August. Just a few days later, 'Freelance' has found its way into the platform's top 10 most-watched list. It currently ranks at number four, but it has its sights set on the top spot, and it certainly has a solid chance of being the flick to finally dethrone 'Happy Gilmore 2.' But here's the wrinkle: 'Freelance' might have deserved its unwanted status as a financial flop. Or at least, it does if you listen to critics, who were far from impressed with the formulaic action-comedy. Viewers tell a different story, praising it for offering plenty of "fun' and 'entertainment.' Curious to know more? Here's the full scoop on 'Freelance,' and why viewers and critics disagree on this John Cena-fronted slice of action-packed summer escapism. Mason Pettits (John Cena) is a former special forces operative, now working a dead-end job and struggling to co-parent his young daughter. Needing an injection of excitement in his mundane day-to-day, he takes a job working private security for a disgraced journalist (Alison Brie). The mission is to provide protection for the reporter as she travels to the (fictional) South American country of Paldonia to interview the country's ruthless dictator (Juan Pablo Raba). But soon after arriving in the region, a military coup breaks out and Mason must spring into action. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Now on the run in the jungle, this unlikely trio is forced to work together to survive with enemy forces closing in, but their toughest obstacle may be finding a way to tolerate each other. It's not especially uncommon for critics and viewers to disagree, but 'Freelance' represents one of the largest discrepancies in reception between the two camps I've seen in ages. Starting with the professional critics, 'Freelance' holds a miserable 10% score on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. The site's critics' summary is particularly cutting: 'Much like a real-life 'Freelance' gig, this sodden action comedy offers no benefits.' Ouch! There's an oppressive nothingness to 'Freelance.' No romance. No comedy. No action,' said Brian Tallerico of awarding the movie a mere half a star (out of four). While Cath Clarke of the Guardian was equally unimpressed, giving the movie only a single star. 'Brie and Cena look lifeless and blank-faced; they've got no chemistry, and the objectionable dynamics of him manfully rescuing her shrieking from the clutches of the bad guys on repeat feel like a satire of the genre – which this isn't,' said Clarke in their very negative review. However, it seems like the majority of viewers didn't share these pessimistic takes on 'Freelance.' Looking again at Rotten Tomatoes, the movie's audience score is a relatively respectable 78%. While viewers on average tend to be kinder than critics, this gap is still noticeably large, and it suggests that viewers were able to enjoy the action-packed ride. Recent user reviews on RT call the movie 'cheesy, but a lot of fun' and 'full of awesome ongoing action.' John Cena is singled out for praise quite a lot, with his chemistry with Alison Brie also noted as a highlight. Of course, not every viewer was so positive; one review notes that 'this is one of the few times I agree with the critics' score over the audience.' Perhaps my biggest issue with 'Freelance' is that it feels like a cheap copy of 'The Lost City,' a tonally and visually similar action-comedy released 12 months earlier. So, 'Freelance' is basically a worse version of a blockbuster movie I'd already seen. Which isn't a great poster quote. Now, if you're just looking for a light-and-breezy summer romp, you might get some enjoyment from 'Freelance.' Even if the subject matter, which includes a cruel dictator and a military coup, seems serious on the surface, 'Freelance's' tone is always kept light. It's a movie where the jokes flow freely, and the main characters never feel in any true danger. There are undoubtedly flaws here. The story is derivative, the characters are thinly fleshed out and the action sequences are extremely pedestrian. It's certainly not a movie I'd have advised you to rush out to your nearest multiplex to see. However, its arrival on Netflix lowers the barrier to entry considerably. Making a recommendation a little more palatable. It's by no means a flick that deserves to be at the top of your Netflix watchlist, and if you do opt to skip it, trust me, you're not missing out on a masterpiece. But if you're looking for a simple summer watch, it'll do in a pinch. Just be sure to keep your expectations firmly in check. Alternatively, if you're looking for some new to Netflix options that don't come with a string of caveats, here are the best new additions to the streaming service library I'm adding to my watchlist this month, including one of the most iconic summer blockbusters in Hollywood history. When does Wednesday season 2 come out on Netflix? The show's start time around the world revealed
She's back! The iconic Wednesday Addams is set to return to our screens in less than 24 hours in Netflix's second season of Wednesday. The drama series will see Jenna Ortega reprise her role as Wednesday as she heads back for her second year at outcast school Nevermore Academy. And this term, she's got even more bone-chilling mysteries to investigate, as well as navigating her friendships, family dramas and a certain stalker too. It's been nearly three years since Netflix debuted Wednesday's first season back in October 2022 and became one of Netflix's most watched shows ever, with over 341 million hours watched in its first week. Given the three year gap, we're now very impatient to watch the new series, so what time does it drop? Here's what you need to know. Naturally the show is airing on a Wednesday (well it really couldn't be any other day could it?) It will be landing our screens this Wednesday 6th August. However, unlike the first season, this time around the show will be split into two parts, with the first four episodes dropping on 6th August and the second set nearly a month later on 3rd September. Ready to be reunited with the Addams family? The first four episodes of Wednesday season two will be released on Wednesday 6th August at 8am BST. Wednesday season two will be available on Netflix from 6th August
