One of the university's standout achievements is its 92nd place globally for employer reputation, making it the highest-ranked private institution in Southeast Asia in this indicator. This aligns with findings from the Ministry of Higher Education's 2024 Graduate Tracer Study, which reported a 99.5% employability rate for Taylor's graduates—well above the national average of 92.5%.
Taylor's also ranks 34th globally for its international student population, reflecting its success in cultivating a globally diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Zambry's Visit To Japan Boosts Strategic Cooperation
PUTRAJAYA, July 31 (Bernama) – The recent working visit by Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir to Tokyo and Osaka reflects Malaysia's commitment to further explore strategic cooperation with advanced nations like Japan in driving excellence in higher education. In a statement today, the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) said the initiative is aligned with the development of the Malaysian Higher Education Plan 2025-2035, which is currently being formulated. According to the ministry, emphasis on technological entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-impact technical, vocational and engineering education and training (TVET) is among the key pillars to ensure Malaysian students are ready to participate in a future innovation-driven economy. Zambry's working visit, at the invitation of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) from July 28 to 30, aimed to strengthen Malaysia-Japan strategic cooperation in higher education, research, innovation and technology. MOHE said key components of the visit included a bilateral meeting with Koichi Hagiuda, Chairman of the Policy Research Council of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The meeting discussed various strategic issues related to the challenges faced by modern universities and the potential for collaboration in the fields of innovation and the creative economy (orange economy). MOHE stated that Zambry also visited the University of Tokyo, where he was briefed on the AI Startup programme developed specifically for undergraduate and postgraduate students. According to the statement, the programme has produced many students who successfully established AI-based startups generating high incomes in their respective fields. The initiative is driven by Matsuo Lab Startup, which provides mentorship, a startup ecosystem, and access to the latest technologies. "The minister said that this is a model worth exploring and adapting for implementation in Malaysia to empower students as value creators in the future economy,'the statement read.

Perkasa Financing Scheme, Training Fund To Encourage Youth Participation In TVET
KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- The government will introduce the Perkasa MADANI TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Financing Scheme and the TVET Training Fund to encourage youth participation. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, when tabling the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) with the theme "Redesigning" at the Dewan Rakyat, said that the TVET programme would also be expanded to tahfiz students to produce MADANI huffaz technocrats with added value in technical expertise. The government, he said, will also expand the TVET curriculum to include the field of ageing with special incentives for students undergoing industrial training. 'TVET programmes are gaining popularity. In 2024 alone, 212,000 new admissions into TVET programmes were recorded,' he said, adding that the MADANI TVET programme will be strengthened to increase the mastery of skills that can generate higher income, including for tahfiz and huffaz students. 'At the same time, the level of TVET certification will be increased by introducing three new levels of expertise, six to eight, to be equivalent to the level of higher education qualifications under the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF). This effort aims to recognise high skills in technical fields and expand career paths, in line with market needs,' said the prime minister. Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said TVET graduates are also enjoying increasingly competitive incomes, most of which exceeded the minimum wage of RM1,700. 'About 95.6 per cent of TVET graduates are able to secure employment within six months of completing their training,' he said. He said the close collaboration between TVET institutions and industry would serve as a catalyst for technological transfer and skills enhancement in line with initiatives by the Ministry of Higher Education. 'The structure of TVET programme offerings will bere-strategised with a focus on high-growth, high-value (HGHV) and advanced technology-based industries.

MoHE introduces COPPA to align higher education with job market needs
KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) has introduced the Code of Practice for Programme Accreditation (COPPA) to serve as a benchmark for designing academic programmes that align with current job market requirements. Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud stated that COPPA mandates higher education institutions to conduct market demand and graduate employability analyses before approving new programmes. 'For programmes regulated by professional bodies, their introduction must also comply with criteria set by the Joint Technical Committee to ensure adherence to the Malaysian Qualifications Framework. 'Once launched, these programmes undergo periodic reviews and evaluations to ensure continuous improvement,' he said during the Dewan Rakyat session. The initiative addresses concerns raised by Jimmy Puah Wee Tse (PH–Tebrau) regarding the mismatch between university courses and job market demands, which has forced graduates into unrelated fields with lower wages. Mustapha added that MoHE collaborates with key agencies, including the Human Resources Ministry, PERKESO, Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, and LinkedIn Malaysia, to better address workforce needs. Additional initiatives like CEO@Faculty, CEO@PolyCC, Industry on Campus, and the Structured Internship Programme further bridge the gap between academia and industry expectations. – Bernama
