Florida Dealt Unfortunate Recruiting News on Tuesday
On3's Hayes Fawcett reported Tuesday that Greer committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Greer picked the Buckeyes over Florida, the Tennessee Volunteers and the Missouri Tigers.

Greer is an Ohio native who hails from Akron and attends Archbishop Hoban. He is listed at 6-foot-8, 290 pounds.
He also holds offers from the Michigan Wolverines, Penn State Nittany Lions, Oregon Ducks, Auburn Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Florida State Seminoles, and others.
Florida will have to look elsewhere for an offensive lineman from the 2026 class.

Greer is a four-star prospect and the No. 14 offensive tackle in the 2026 class, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
He would have been the third four-star commitment for head coach Billy Napier. The Gators have commitments from four-star linebacker Izayia Williams, four-star quarterback Will Griffin and three-star safety Devin Jackson.

Ohio State prioritized Greer early in the recruitment process, taking seven visits with him before his commitment. Florida took one visit with Greer in June of last year. He also visited Michigan, Penn State and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Year three of the Napier era finally saw the head coach finish with a winning season. He took the team to a bowl game in 2022, but he lost to the Oregon State Beavers to finish the year at 6-7.
In 2023, Napier did not reach a bowl game after a 5-7 finish to the regular season.
Last season, the Gators won eight games despite having one of the more demanding schedules in college football. Florida ended the year with a 33-8 win over Tulane in the Gasparilla Bowl.
Florida opens the 2025 season against Long Island on Aug. 30.

But I got a chance to see him up close and personal for four years in a row. I never saw a greater basketball player when it comes to the way he plays this game." Wade added that he only admired Jordan from afar, but having played next to LeBron James and even winning titles with him, he acknowledged the forward's greatness. After naming the legends, Wade pivoted to personal preference with the selection of Allen Iverson. He said: "I'll go with AI. One of my favorite players. Just a little dude who just, there's nothing you can do with him. The way he was just a giant killer. He attacked everybody in front of just exuded confidence." The Hall of Famer continued by mentioning Stephen Curry in his list, saying: "To watch Steph, to see him from college, to watch him come into the pros very early, and then watch as he took over the pros, when he took over the league, I've never seen a player take over the league mid-point in. Steph just did it in a whole different way none of us saw coming." Wade compared Curry's rise to getting hit with haymakers. The sheer suddenness with which he took over the league was a testament to his greatness. "I got Big Shaq," Wade continued. "I've never seen a more dominant force play this game. I love when a big guy, especially in that era, played like a big guy. He was dunking on everybody." Wade acknowledged the evolution of the game, where today's bigs are expected to do more than establish themselves down low. But his preference for good old-fashioned low-post dominance persists. Wade concluded his list with the selection of Kevin Garnett and added: "Kevin Garnett was one of the most versatile players I've ever seen play the game of basketball. I remember being in awe of watching somebody of his size pick up 94 feet, guard the guard, and then get back to his man." The guard commended Garnett's versatility by highlighting the multitude of skills he brought to the game. From communication and leadership to elite defense paired with three-level scoring, Garnett was truly the whole package. Wade's list is undeniably impressive, packed with all-time greats. In this regard, Wade himself has a claim on NBA greatness. After a distinguished career marked by multiple championships, the 13-time All-Star earned his place in the Hall of Fame. In addition to this, the Heat legend was also named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team, an honor few have had bestowed upon them. Miami Heat at center of alleged multi-million-dollar sports memorabilia heist, analyst says
The Miami Heat organization is at the center of what some are calling the largest sports memorabilia heist in U.S. history, after an NBA analyst alleged on national radio that authenticated team collectibles were stolen and sold over an extended period. NBA analyst Amin Elhassan broke the news on The Dan LeBatard Show, saying Heat memorabilia—including items from the NBA Finals—was stolen and sold over the course of at least 18 months. "Authenticated memorabilia stolen from the Miami Heat. Oh really? And sold for many, many, many, many millions of dollars," Elhassan said. He added that some of the stolen items included full sets of game-worn jerseys from multiple players, which is extremely rare in the collector world. "You never see people with this much stuff. Right? You might get a worn jersey, but to get, like, a game-worn full set—NBA Finals? From multiple players?" he said. Elhassan also claimed that a Miami police officer and an individual with ties to the NBA may be among those involved. At Collectors Club in Wynwood, CBS News Miami spoke with sports memorabilia expert Travis Nichols, who explained how the underground market makes it difficult for teams to recover stolen items. "As technology increases, people are able to sell things much easier than they used to be," Nichols said. "It's not like you have to know a guy. You can go on different marketplaces online or go to in-person shows, show them at your table. It's really rough because some of the stuff is untraceable when it's sold." "You know jerseys don't have identification numbers and that's what makes it really rough for the Heat — the organization — to get their items back." The City of Miami Police Department said it currently has no information regarding allegations that an officer may be involved. The Miami Heat organization stated it cannot comment on an ongoing investigation.
