Scots cops search for teenage girl missing for two days
Police are appealing for the public's help to locate missing 15-year-old Melissa Boulton, who vanished from Kirknewton on June 30.
Melissa was last spotted in Kirknewton at around 11.30am on that day and hasn't been seen since. Officers say they are increasingly worried for her safety.

Melissa is described as white female, 5ft 9, medium build, with long dyed red hair. She may have a nose ring and was last seen wearing a black top with black Nike jogging bottoms.
Melissa also has links to Currie, Clermiston and Tranent where she might have travelled.
Anyone who may have seen Melissa since this time, or who has any information which could be relevant, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 0089 of 1st July 2025.

Concerns grow for missing man with distinctive clothing not seen for three days
Jonathan Woods was last seen wearing items including a bright orange jacket and orange trainers. A search has been launched after a man wearing distinctive bright orange clothing was reported missing from Aberdeenshire. Jonathan Woods, 27, was last seen in the Greens area of New Deer at 11am on Tuesday, July 1. Concerns have been growing for his welfare as he has not made contact with any friends or family since then. He is described as white, 5ft 7 in height and of a slim build, with dark hair in a short back and sides style. His left eye is brown and his right is blue. He has a tattoo on the right side of his neck which says 'Lucky', stud earrings in both ears, and speaks with a Northern Irish accent. Sergeant Scott Cooper, Ellon Police Station, said: 'Jonathan's jacket and footwear would be quite distinctive if seen. 'He's not been in touch with family, friends, or associates that we know of since Tuesday, so there is concern for his welfare. 'If you have any information as to where he is or have seen him recently, please get in touch with police. 'We'd also appeal to Jonathan to call police or family to let everyone know he is safe and well.' Information can be passed to officers via 101. Mum and daughter die in horror car crash as dad and sister remain in hospital
Six-year-old Ella and her mum Natalie, a well-known nurse, were killed in the collision with a van on Wednesday. A young nurse and her six-year-old daughter have tragically died following a two-vehicle crash. Natalie McLaughlin and her daughter Ella, from Carndonagh in Donegal were in a car which collided with a van on the R240 at Glentogher, at 6.30pm on Wednesday, July 2. Ella was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, with her parents and younger sister rushed to hospital across the border in Derry. Mum-of-two Natalie, who was in her 20s, was initially taken to Altnagelvin Hospital, but later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, where she died from her injuries on Thursday afternoon. Her husband Tyrone is still in a serious condition, but his injuries are not said to be life-threatening. Their other daughter Rhea Rose, two, was also transferred to Belfast for specialist treatment, but is also understood to not have life-threatening injuries. The van driver, who is in his late teens, was treated at the scene for non-serious injuries, the Mirror reports. Natalie worked as a nurse at a GP practice in Carndonagh, having started her career as a registered nurse just three years ago. He said: "Words fall short at this time, what can anybody say? They are such a lovely family and so well respected in our local community. It's just devastating. The loss of anybody on our roads is difficult for any community to take. "But the loss of a mother and daughter, particularly given the fact that they are so young, is even more poignant and more difficult to accept. People are just numb and there is very little I can add to that other than to keep them all in our thoughts and prayers." Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The road was closed for examination by a forensics team, but later reopened on Thursday. Officers are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch. Inspector Sean McDaid, Head of the Garda Traffic Corps in Co Donegal, has asked any motorists travelling in the area at the time of the crash who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to pass it on to investigating Gardaí.

Emergency services descended on McCann Avenue in Broxburn at around 1.15am on Friday, July 4, following reports of a disturbance at a property. Three men aged 18, 25 and 28 were taken to Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary for treatment. The 28-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the incident. A Police Scotland spokesman said enquiries into the incident are still ongoing. He added: 'Officers remain in the area and anyone with concerns or information can approach them.'
