G Tejeshwar, a resident of Rajaveedhi in Gadwal town, Telangana, married T Sahasra alias Ishwarya (25) from Kallur in Andhra Pradesh on May 18, despite objections from his family.
The couple had earlier cancelled their wedding in February after Ishwarya vanished for a few days.
She returned and convinced Tejeshwar that she had left due to financial stress in her family.
Believing her, Tejeshwar went ahead with the marriage, but tensions arose soon after.
He reportedly grew suspicious of her constant phone conversations with an unknown person. On June 17, Tejeshwar left home after getting into a car for what he thought was a routine land survey, but never returned.
Following a missing person complaint filed by his brother, police traced his last known movements through CCTV footage and found his decomposed body in the HNSS canal in Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh, on June 21.

Police believe Sonam shared details of her travel plans, enabling the killers to execute their plan during the honeymoon.
Authorities are probing the full extent of her involvement, including phone and financial records, to establish premeditation and conspiracy.

The oxytocin was allegedly used to artificially stimulate milk production in cattle and accelerate the growth of fruits and vegetables, posing serious health hazards to both animals and humans,' the STF said in a statement. 'The injections were being diluted and filled into unlicensed vials in unhygienic conditions,' the agency said, noting that 'its misuse is not only illegal but extremely dangerous'. It further said that the samples have been sent for laboratory testing to verify contamination and potency. A case has been registered at Kakori police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including sections 318 , 280 , 276 , and 112 . Builder Ends Life In Palghar, Family Alleges Harassment By 2 Cops, Aide
A builder allegedly committed suicide at his residence at Nalasopara in Palghar district of Maharashtra apparently over financial matters, police said on Tuesday. The builder, Jayaprakash Chavan, was found hanging at his home on Tuesday morning, an official said. Chavan's family claimed he has left behind a detailed suicide note in which he has levelled serious allegations of harassment and intimidation against two policemen as well as their purported associate, a real estate broker. The note purportedly stated that the trio regularly threatened, humiliated, and pressurised Chavan, pushing him over the edge over financial matters. According to the note and family members, Chavan had borrowed Rs 33 lakh from the policemen to fund the construction of a building. Of this, Rs 32 lakh was reportedly paid upfront. However, instead of a standard loan repayment arrangement, Chavan was allegedly forced to register four flats in the name of the policemen as repayment, said the family members. His daughter, Gauri Chavan, in a statement to the media, alleged, "My father was under intense stress. He was being threatened continuously by policemen and their broker. He felt betrayed and cornered." An officer at the Achole police station confirmed the recovery of a suicide note, but did not disclose its content, saying they were looking into it. He said a case of accidental death has been registered as of now now. Senior officials stated that the matter will be investigated thoroughly, and appropriate action will be taken if any wrongdoing is found.

Meghalaya's Latest Move For Tourists Safety After Honeymoon Murder
Guwahati: Meghalaya has made it mandatory for all tourist accommodations to register with the state tourism department. The latest ruling applies to all hotels, guest houses, homestays, lodges, inns and bed-and-breakfast establishments, said the Meghalaya Tourism Department. This comes in the wake of 'honeymoon murder' - where Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore-based businessman, was killed by his wife during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. The couple was reported missing within three days of their visit to Meghalaya. Later, Raja's dead body was found in a gorge, but his wife, Sonam, was still missing until she surrendered to the Uttar Pradesh police and confessed to the crime. Sonam's boyfriend, Raj, and his three friends helped orchestrate the murder. What came to be known as the honeymoon murder raised serious concerns about safety among tourists. Ever since then, the government has been taking measures to clear all apprehensions. The mandatory online registration of all accommodations will involve daily digital reporting of guest check-ins and check-outs. This includes critical details such as the number of visitors, their gender, place of origin (state or country), and identity verification (ID proof, visa details, and C-form uploads for foreign nationals). All accommodation providers are also required to obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) from both the district administration and district police before operating in the state. For the same, the state government has launched an online portal and a mobile application. The non-compliance with the regulation will result in legal action. Last month, Meghalaya made it mandatory for tourists to hire authorised and recognised guides while trekking in the East Khasi Hills district for safety. The state government has also banned renting out private vehicles -- both two-wheelers and four-wheelers -- for commercial purposes. A public notice issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Transport dated June 13, 2025, clarified that Meghalaya has not implemented the Rent-a-Motorcycle or Rent-a-Cab schemes. Therefore, no individual or agency is legally authorised to offer private vehicles for hire in the state.
