Tibet rocked by second earthquake within 24 hours
As per the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10km, making it susceptible to aftershocks.

Earlier in the day, an earthquake measuring 4.3 had struck the region.

The district of Rasuwa, adjoining the Tibetan side which was hit by a flash flood on July 8 had claimed seven lives with over a dozen still missing, after Lhende River swept infrastructure near Nepal-China border.
Heavy rainfall in Tibet earlier this morning has triggered flooding in the Trishuli River, raising water levels in areas around Uttar Gaya in Rasuwa and the Trishuli 3B Hub in Kispang. Authorities have issued warnings as water flow continues to rise in the Rasuwagadhi area.

9 army personnel missing in Uttarkashi district in flash flood
Dehradun: Nine Indian Army personnel are still missing in the devastating flash flood in the Kheer Ganga river that led to large-scale destruction in Dharali village, 4 kilometres from Harsil on the Gangotri highway and also struck the army camp in the area, said officials. He said Col Harshvardhan, commanding officer of 14th Battalion Rajputana Rifles, was personally leading 150 personnel in critical rescue and relief operations in the wake of the devastating mudslide at Kheer Gad, Dharali. 'Torrential rain and collapsed connectivity hasn't deterred their resolve to safeguard every civilian. Their grit under extreme adversity reflects the true spirit of the Indian Army, resilient, selfless and always ready to serve the Nation. In the meantime, additional columns are being moved to be pressed into rescue operations', he added. Earlier in the evening, Brigadier Mandeep Dhillon, Brigade Commander, IBEX Brigade said 'Rescue operations are underway. We reached the site within ten minutes as our unit in Harsil Camp is nearby. This deluge of water can lead to devastating consequences such as flash floods, landslides, and severe damage to infrastructure, especially in mountainous are most common in hilly or mountainous terrain, such as the Himalayas, where warm, moist air is forced to ascend steep slopes in a process known as orographic lifting.
