His most notable international tenure was with Iran, where he made history as the country's longest-serving manager and the only one to guide them to two consecutive Fifa World Cups — in 2014 and 2018.
On the club level, Queiroz also boasts an impressive résumé. He had a stint as head coach of Real Madrid and worked closely with legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson as assistant coach at Manchester United. His partnership with Ferguson coincided with one of the club's most successful periods.
