You're scared of going unrecognised when you go out somewhere,' he shared.
Abhishek Bachchan was never acknowledged by others
He also reflected on moments when he felt invisible. 'I've walked into rooms where nobody even turns to look at you… You walk into a hotel lobby and expect someone will ask for an autograph, and then nobody comes. You swallow that, and you keep going,' he said.

Puneet Issar opens up on working with Abhishek Bachchan in 'Refugee' after Amitabh Bachchan's 'Coolie' accident: 'Bohot hi courteous hai, hum dono hanuman bhakt'
Puneet Issar is remembered for 'almost killing' Amitabh Bachchan during 'Coolie'. He had punched Bachchan in the stomach which ruptured his intestine but it was just an accident which took place just as sometimes the timing in action differs. In a recent interview, he recalled the greatness of Big B who called to meet him after the incident and said that it wasn't his fault. He also shared how he lost out on a lot of work after this accident took place and nobody was ready to cast him as a villain. He said in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, "The greatness of Mr Bachchan, he said he wanted to meet me. When he called for me, I was in tears. I kept thinking, 'All this happened because of me.' He said, "I was in tears but he told me, 'Puneet, it's not your fault. Accidents happen during action scenes.'' Puneet added that Bachchan then recalled an incident with Vinod Khanna. He said, "Uss avastha mein he told me he was shooting for an action scene with Vinod Khanna and had to hit him with the glass. During the rehearsals, 10 times, it went fine but during the take, the timing went wrong either by him or Khanna and the glass hit Khanna's chin and he got 7-8 stitches and I was feeling the same thing which you're feeling today." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Interestingly, Puneet worked with Abhishek Bachchan in his debut film 'Refugee'. Hamare mein common baat thi, woh hanuman bhakt hai aur main bhi hanuman bhakt hu. He knew, that maine 'Coolie' ki thi. Hamare JP Dutta director joh the, unse koi aadmi role nahi puch sakta tha. I had done Hathiyar with him, Border with him. I shot for 15-20 days which was long, but when people edit the film, it was cut. The role was just left to 1-2 scenes. When asked if Abhishek ever recalled Bachchan's accident with him, Puneet said, "Never. Infact, Abhishek Bachchan and my younger brother Prashant Issar who we call Sippi, are very good friends." Abhishek recently completed 25 years since the release of his first film 'Refugee'.

Puneet Issar Reveals Jaya Bachchan's Reaction To Amitabh Bachchan's Near-Death Experience
Last Updated: Puneet Issar said Jaya Bachchan was very 'gracious' and "supportive" towards him. Amitabh Bachchan's near-death experience on the set of Coolie in 1982 remains one of Bollywood's most shocking moments. During a high-stakes action scene, Puneet Issar was supposed to throw a mock punch at Amitabh Bachchan. But things took a dangerous turn when Amitabh misjudged a leap and landed awkwardly on a table, suffering a life-threatening injury. Though he initially brushed it off, his condition quickly worsened, forcing doctors to perform an emergency surgery. During a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, Puneet Issar recalled how Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan were gracious towards him and didn't hold any grudges. 'Mr Bachchan called me, he said, 'I want to meet Puneet'. I went to meet him and when I saw him in that state, I had tears in my eyes, thinking that all this has happened because of me. He told me, 'Puneet, it's not your fault. When we are doing action, this kind of stuff happens,'" he recalled. 'In that state, he got up, put his arm around my neck and took me to the gate of Breach Candy, where the press was stationed and dropped me till there so people don't think that he has any hard feelings towards Puneet. That's the greatness of Bachchan saab," he said. In the same chat, he also recalled Jaya Bachchan's reaction to the incident and said that she was very 'gracious" and 'supportive" towards him. 'Amazing, what a lady," he said and added, 'They are associated with films. They know that it is not anyone's fault; it just happened." Despite following the scene's choreography, Puneet Issar faced severe backlash. Amitabh, however, held no grudge, comforting Puneet Issar and reassuring him it was just an accident. Yet, the damage was done — Puneet Issar was almost blacklisted by the industry, losing out on several projects and facing years of struggle, which took a toll on both him and his family. In a recent chat with Digital Commentary, Puneet recalled how he was jobless for nearly six years as people refused to work with him. Puneet issar never worked with Amitabh Bachchan after Coolie. He, however, went on to share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan's son Abhishek Bachchan in his debut film Refugee. First Published:

Abhishek Bachchan calls household with Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan ‘funny'; says, ‘Would never want to be a loner'
Bollywood actors and A-list couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan largely keep their personal life out of the limelight. However, Abhishek recently shared insights into the dynamics of the Bachchan household, where multiple actors, including his parents Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and wife Aishwarya Rai, live together under one roof. Speaking to Zoom about his process as an actor, Abhishek revealed that unlike many actors who prefer to isolate themselves to get into character, he works differently. He said, 'I have never felt lost or the need to get away from everything. I am a people person.' The actor admitted that while solitude is essential, he doesn't enjoy being alone for long periods. 'I have my moments when I need my solitude. It is very important and essential for an actor. But not for a longer time. I need someone to talk to,' he said. Discussing what it's like living in a house full of actors, Abhishek Bachchan described the experience as amusing and unique. He said, 'It's funny. My household is very funny, and we are all actors. We all like to hang out together, and then suddenly everyone just goes back to their own personal spaces.' He added, 'That comes naturally because for actors it is important to spend time with yourself and get to know yourself. Self-discovery is something that we rarely do. It's essential, but I would never want to be a loner.' Abhishek Bachchan is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Kaalidhar Laapata, which is set to premiere on ZEE5 on July 4. He has lately been seen playing father figure roles in films like Be Happy and I Want to Talk. Speaking about this phase in his career and his recurring portrayal of paternal characters, he told The Hollywood Reporter India, 'I don't think I am actively seeking such roles but I have noticed the common thread and I attribute it to the most beautiful woman in the world, my daughter. Artists go through phases in life and when I started with Breathe, then Ludo, Bob, Be Happy, I Wanna Talk, Kaalidhar Laapata – I understood that paternal emotion in those because I was also witnessing and experiencing that in my real life. I don't know if Aaradhya wasn't around whether I'd still be experiencing those emotions or feel them as acutely. They also happened because that relationship spoke to me because I used to experience that with her.'
