ACME Solar commissions 300 MW Sikar solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan
The Sikar project is spread across approximately 1,300 acres and is connected to the Bikaner II substation via a 220 kV transmission line. Positioned in one of India's top solar irradiation zones, the plant is expected to generate an estimated 780 million units (MUs) of renewable energy annually. This project was awarded under the SECI-ISTS XVIII scheme with an approved tariff of ₹3.05 per unit, as adopted by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC). The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the project is expected to be signed shortly.
With the addition of this project, ACME Solar's total operational renewable energy capacity now stands at 2,890 MW.
In parallel, the company has also completed its first wind energy project with a total capacity of 50 MW in Shapar, Gujarat. The project was completed this quarter after commissioning the final turbine, which added 3.3 MW. Located in a high wind potential zone, the wind project is backed by a 25-year PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). The project was executed through ACME's in-house engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) team, marking the company's entry into wind energy and a step toward portfolio diversification.
