Tryfest: Bristol Bears won an extraordinary match against Exeter at Ashton Gate on Saturday evening, coming out on top in a 14-try thriller that had drama and points galore.
Dare to care: Hundreds of people marched through the city centre on Saturday evening to highlight the essential work of mothers, parents and carers in an event called Shine a Light on Care.
A colourful show: Thousands of theatre fans have been heading to the Hippodrome to see Joe McElderry in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which finished its run on Saturday. Next up at the city centre theatre is West End Alive.

Practice makes perfect: Every week members of the Bristol Choral Society gather to rehearse in the council house. One of the largest choirs in the city, they are currently preparing to perform works by Handel at Scarlatti at Bristol Cathedral on 29 March.

A royal visit: HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh visited the University of Bristol on Thursday to learn about a world-leading study aimed at achieving scar-free healing. The Duchess, who is Royal Patron of The Scar Free Foundation, met with the research team working on the project.
Community hub: Local businesses are able to get free support and advice at the Share Bristol Community Hub in the heart of Bedminster at 47 East Street. It is hosting 16 days of events and activities as part of this year's Bristol Community Festival which is running until 6 April.
Red letter day: Bristol City took on Charlton at Ashton Gate in a contest of two teams nicknamed The Robins. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The revving rev: They've welcomed a new vicar in Backwell, with a special service at St Andrew's Church to celebrate the arrival of the Reverend Sam Norton, a motorcycle-loving man of the cloth.

Rare Hulk stretch toy sells for thousands of pounds at auction
The figure, which appears to be one of only 30 known examples of the original Hulk stretch figure from 1979 known to still exist, was sold to a private collector on Saturday at the Excalibur Auctions Vintage Toys, Diecast Models & Model Railways auction for £3,900. Originally estimated between £3,000 and £5,000, the final sale set a new record in the UK for 'a figure of its kind', according to the auction house. Jonathan Torode, from Excalibur Auctions, said: 'We were excited to offer this rare piece of nostalgia today, which set a UK auction record for a figure of its kind. 'We saw competitive bidding on the phones and internet, with it finally winning out to a UK private collector, where we hope it will be as cherished by its new owner as much as it has been by its previous one.' The character the toy is based on was created by the American comic book writer and producer Stan Lee and comic artist Jack Kirby, appearing in comic form for the first time in May 1962 under the Marvel name. He was later portrayed across TV, film, cartoon and video games as The Incredible Hulk – the alter ego of the physicist Dr Bruce Banner, who transformed into the superhero when he was angry or under extreme stress. A range of actors have since portrayed the character over the years, including Eric Bana in The Hulk (2003), Edward Norton in The Incredible Hulk (2008) and Mark Ruffalo in The Avengers (2012). The toy was described as being in 'mint' condition after being kept out of the light, upright, and in its original packaging over the years. The Hulk figure also came with its original instructions and has never been offered for sale since it was bought in 1979, according to the auction house. Produced by renowned toymaker Denys Fisher (1918-2002), the figure came directly from its original owner who had begged his mother for one as a child. It was originally part of Kenner's 'Stretch Armstrong' line and was later licensed under Denys Fisher in the UK. Fisher, who developed the Spirograph, grew up in the Leeds area and later lived in Dumfries and Cumbria. The Hulk stretch figure was filled with corn syrup to enable it to stretch and was made using the same latex and gel moulds as those used for the Stretch Armstrong figure. However, its green skin colouring, the Hulk head and the Marvel branding set it apart from the Stretch Armstrong toy. Manufactured in Thorp Arch, Wetherby, the toy was sold in limited quantities only in the UK, through select mail order catalogues and a handful of shops.

Netflix viewers demand second season of series that 'blew me away'
Netflix viewers have described the series as an "unexpected find" that they "highly recommend" The Brothers Sun is an American comedy drama which landed on Netflix in January 2024 and stars Michelle Yeoh. The series follows the life of Bruce Sun, who lives in California, and has his life turned upside down when his older brother Charles visits from Taiwan. Bruce has no recollection of his family's profession as Taipei's most renowned gangsters. But after their criminal mastermind father was almost killed, Charles moved to LA to protect his family. In a further twist, Bruce learns his mother moved to California to start a new life away from her estranged family and to protect her sun. But her attempts were futile and Bruce has to adapt to his family's gangster lifestyle. Fans of the series have heaped praise on Brothers Sun with one reviewing it: "This show was an unexpected find and complete tour de force. "If you enjoy intense family drama with Shakespearean overtones and all the feels, laugh-aloud comedic moments, amazing martial arts fighting sequences, a highly talented and diverse cast who inhabits all the characters, be it main or secondary, and a feel-good ending, I highly recommend this series!" Another added: "It completely took me by surprise. Brother's Sun is an amazing web series that I thoroughly enjoyed. I want to share my appreciation without giving away any spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet. "The unpredictable twists and turns were fantastic, and Mama being the information bank and mastermind added a great dimension. Both sons being brave and smart showcased a refreshing sibling bond, which I haven't seen in a drama for a while. "The casting was brilliant, and kudos to all the actors for playing their roles so well." A third continued: "Best show in a long time …. With comedy and action it's amazing. The fighting is one of the best I have watched in a couple years. "This show has a little bit of everything crime, action, romance, with a twist of comedy which makes it all around the best show in a long time. They covered everything we need this show to come back for another season." Unfortunately for fans, it was revealed there wouldn't be another series as it was cancelled by Netflix.
