'I'm a professional cleaner and there's one thing people like me wouldn't touch'

Daily Mirror9 hours ago
Cleaning the home involves working on numerous rooms, surfaces, objects and furniture and one professional has shared how she tackles a device that many people are reluctant to touch
A professional cleaner has shared how she works on a common household device that many cleaners would be hesitant to touch. One task we all have to do is cleaning as no one enjoys having a dirty home but with multiple rooms, surfaces and objects to polish, it's not always that easy.

This is why some people like to have their property cleaned by a professional cleaner, who knows how to get the job done well. Some people might have less time to keep their home in order due to having a busy work schedule and others might just prefer to hire an expert. Charlotte is a house cleaner who shares advice, tips and tutorials on TikTok.

She recently shared a video on the social media platform showing how she cleans a TV.

The professional cleaner said: 'So there's two things that most cleaners absolutely point blank refuse to clean or even touch, one of them being Lego, which we all know, and the other being TVs.
'This is my own TV. I'm going to show you exactly how I clean TVs in my own home and in clients' homes as well.'
Charlotte uses a magnetic duster for this task and makes sure there's nothing stuck to it, including debris or anything that could scratch the screen, an E-Cloth glass cloth and a little bit of water.

She added: 'So you may be thinking why on earth do you need to touch TV screens anyway? They don't even get dirty but as you can see, even though mine is mounted on the wall it is covered in fly poo and this is not something I want to see on my television screen so we're going to get it cleaned off.'
Her first step is to use the magnetic duster to clean all around the TV to remove any surface dust and clean behind the TV, ensuring you won't transfer any surface dust onto the screen but she noted that this is optional.
Next Charlotte applies a bit of water to one half of the glass cloth and 'very gently' wipes down the TV screen working from one side to the other.

She mentioned that it is 'very important' to be gentle and not apply any pressure to the screen at all.
Wiping the screen helps to remove fingerprints, such as by young children. She uses the cloth to get rid of fly poo and any smudges or marks.

The cleaning expert goes over the screen very gently back and forth until all the marks are removed. She continued: 'And because I am applying very little pressure you can see it has taken me a little while just to get all those marks off but they are now all clear and then I just work my way around the edge of the TV as well.'
Charlotte showed that her TV had no marks remaining on the screen and no scratches or damage after she cleaned it.
She mentioned that there are many screen cleaners available on the market so she recommended trying one of them if you would feel more comfortable.

In the caption of her post, the professional cleaner explained: 'It's quite well known that the majority of cleaners do not touch or clean TV's!
'This is absolutely fine and as business owners we can decide what we are comfortable cleaning and set our own rules and T&C's.'
Charlotte discusses with her clients if they would like to have their TVs cleaner before touching them and she has found that most of them are 'very keen.'
She also gave some key points to take away from her video, including that it is not necessary to clean a TV unless it is visibly dirty, never spray anything directly onto the screen and the cloth should be 'very lightly damp.'

Why Jeff and Freddy Brazier have called an uneasy truce over ban on gran Jackiey – as shock twists behind feud revealed

Read on to find out who the surprising 'peacekeeper' was during the bitter row - and Jeff's shock new legal move FEUD OVER Why Jeff and Freddy Brazier have called an uneasy truce over ban on gran Jackiey – as shock twists behind feud revealed IT is a toxic tale of drug use, 'spying' claims and a ruthlessly aggressive public slanging match that has cast a dark shadow over the legacy of Jade Goody. Today, The Sun can reveal the tense, behind-the-scenes machinations that have seen the late reality star's mum, Jackiey Budden, and the father of her two boys, Jeff Brazier, reach the unlikeliest of ceasefires. Advertisement This Morning star Jeff has quietly dropped his legal case against Jackiey after his son even threatened to flee the UK with his gran. It was this fragile detente that saw Freddy, his Strictly star brother Bobby and their dad put on a surprising show of unity this week at a London theatre launch, where Jeff is appearing in 101 Dalmatians. A source explained: 'Freddy is back living with Jackiey again at her flat in South London, but still spending time with his dad and brother, too. Effectively they've all made peace for the time being and are trying to make things better again, which is doing them the world of good. 'It's actually the perfect outcome for everyone, and exactly what Jade would have wanted. The boys are happier for it, and the constant in-fighting has stopped . . . for now. 'There's no denying that Jackiey and Jeff will never be the best of friends, or even close, but for now it's a peaceful solution. Advertisement 'Granted, she still calls him a 'c**k' to her friends but, crucially, she never bad-mouths Jeff in front of his kids. 'Freddy remains devoted to her — and was threatening to leave the UK to be with his grandmother abroad if Jeff carried on his legal case. 'Even a few weeks ago, it looked as though things would never calm down again and he was still trying to use the courts to keep the two sides of the family apart. 'But the metaphorical white flag has been raised — there is peace.' Angry backlash Details of the bust-up first emerged earlier this year when TV host Jeff began bizarre court proceedings in a bid to block troubled Freddy, 20, from making contact with his grandmother — insisting her frequent cannabis use was a dangerous influence. Advertisement It sparked an angry backlash from the aspiring model, who raged that nothing would stop him from seeing his beloved 'Nanna' — and they were later photographed smoking what appeared to be a cannabis joint together near her Bermondsey home. Days later, Freddy revealed on Instagram he was preparing to check into a Marbella rehab facility in a bid to 'get clean', before making a swift U-turn and claiming: 'I just need a holiday.' He has also launched a series of furious tirades at his father behind the scenes — even accusing Jeff of spying on him and having him trailed by paparazzi to keep an eye on his behaviour — something the TV host fervently denies. Another incident saw his father turn up unannounced at a London hairdressers to confront him about spending time with Jackiey. It is understood Jeff has now parked his plans to pursue legal action, recognising that the expensive legal filings and potential court bid would do little to dissuade his son from contacting Jackiey. But he has also enjoyed a growing relationship with his dad in recent years, including appearing together on TV hit Celebrity Race Across The World, where their quirky but likeable double act proved popular with viewers. Devoted Jackiey has insisted that she has only ever been a loving and supportive grandmother to both of her daughter's children — and said she could never understand Jeff's efforts to divide them. Advertisement She added: 'All these years, I've been the closest thing to their mum.' Meanwhile, Freddy has opened up a new battle after splitting from his girlfriend, Holly Swinburn, following a furious row between the pair, who are now accusing one another of wrong-doing in a dispute, with each threatening to escalate the row by involving the police. In June, Freddy was spotted on a date with influencer Natasha Newcombe. Jade, who shot to fame in Big Brother in 2002, passed away in 2009 aged just 27 after a harrowing battle with cervical cancer. The run-up to her death, broadcast and documented in painful detail, gripped the nation and brought a surge in cancer screenings dubbed the 'Jade Goody effect'. Advertisement Before she passed away, she begged Jeff to take care of her two sons, then aged just five and four. He has always insisted he tried to do the right thing by them, often in private, steering them away from the spotlight in their early years. But the tension between him and Jackiey — Jade's eccentric and outspoken mum — has simmered ever since. Jackiey, a former drug addict who raised Jade alone, was known for her brash style and fiery public appearances, including a famously awkward stint on Celebrity Big Brother alongside Jade in 2007. Storm has calmed She claims she has been unfairly sidelined over the years and struggled to maintain a consistent presence in her grandsons' lives due to her feud with their father. Advertisement Freddy's older brother Bobby, now 21, has taken a different path, enjoying a rise from quiet teenager to Strictly finalist and EastEnders heart-throb. He has largely kept his distance from the drama and maintained a diplomatic relationship with both sides of the family, having instead devoted his time to the Hare Krishna movement after becoming involved with the religion in recent years. He was seen this week wearing the group's trademark orange outfit in central London as he took part in one of their rituals. Insiders say Bobby has acted as a 'peacekeeper' during the row, urging his dad and gran to let Freddy make his own choices — and speaking regularly to each of his relatives. A friend said: 'Bobby's had a lot on his plate with work but he is close to Freddy and just wants everyone to get on for his sake. He misses Jade every day and knows that she wouldn't want this fighting.' Advertisement 8 In June, Freddy was spotted on a date with influencer Natasha Newcombe Credit: 8 Freddy's older brother Bobby has enjoyed a rise from quiet teenager to Strictly finalist and EastEnders heart-throb Credit: PA For now, it seems the storm has calmed, but whether the peace holds is another matter. The boys remain at the heart of their late mother's legacy, and will soon be the beneficiaries of a trust fund left to them, with instructions that it could not be accessed until they reached their mid-twenties — except for education and healthcare. As one insider adds: 'They're growing up fast and have so many opportunities. Advertisement 'And soon they will get the money Jade left for them too, which should give them the strong start in their adult life she always wanted for them. 'Hopefully the peace holds, but when it comes to Jackiey and Jeff, the next fallout could easily be just around the corner.'

Love Island icon's bombshell revelations about one finalist - 'Walking red flag of a man'

Montana Brown has dropped some very juicy information about Harry - moments before this year's Love Island final airs and the winners are crowned Love Island legend Montana Brown has 'spilled the tea' on this year's contestant Harry Cooksley moments before tonight's final airs on ITV. ‌ The 29-year-old took to TikTok to tell her 581,000 followers some very juicy info on the villa lothario, who is currently coupled up with Shakira Khan. Dishing the dirt on the 30-year-old footballer, the mum-of-two has claimed Harry was actually dating one of her friends right before he went on the dating show. ‌ Urging fans not to vote for the 'walking red flag of a man', she said on a video: "Guys, I've not been involved in the whole Love Island chat. But I know tonight is the final - so this is the tea, right. ‌ "Harry was literally seeing someone that I knew, one of my good friends, right before he went on Love Island. He wrote her a letter and said, 'Oh my gosh. I know you're going to be really surprised at this, but I still love you and, you know, we're going to be together. And I just need to sort my head out.' You know, all of this crap." Getting more worked up, Montana continued: "And now, I'm like, this guy cannot win! Although, I love Shakira. From what I've seen of her, she's incredible. "So I think we just have to think about - let's save Shakira and not let them win. Because he will just grab the money and run from what we know about him. So that's the tea from me." ‌ Revealing the excuse Harry gave her friend instead of being honest about going on Love Island, Montana added: "Also, he told my friend he was going to Bali. Need I say more?!" However, some fans questioned the timing of the video - and wished Montana had said something sooner. One commented: "Montana the vote opened yesterday - it's too late for this info!" ‌ Another wrote: "Too late, I already voted for Shakira!" A third asked: "Why is Montana only saying this now on the night of the final? She could have said it two months ago..." A fourth asked: "Didn't he write a letter to his ex Emma stating something similar before going on? She said she thought he meant he was going to rehab." A fifth jokingly asked: "How many love letters is this man going to write?" While a sixth posted: "This information needs to reach Shakira's mum." ‌ But others were still 'team Harry', with one Love Island fan saying: "Harry has made this season, he's an inspiration, he has to win." Another wrote: "Harry for the win!" A third observed: "I don't get all these stunning girls going for Harry lol, although past week he's kinda won me over a bit." Love Island's finale, which airs from 9pm tonight, looks set to be a belter. After weeks of drama under the Spanish sun, the four final couples will be treated to one last date before finding out who will be declared the winners - and waltz off with the £50,000 prize money. Host Maya Jama will be in charge of proceedings as Harry and Shakira battle it out against Yasmin Pettet and Jamie Rhodes, Angel Swift and Toni Laites and Cach Mercer to be crowned the 2025 winners. Harry and Shakira are currently favourites to win, according to bookies. This may surprise some viewers, especially as they are one of the newer couples to snuggle up after weeks of exploring other connections. But will people still vote for him after Montana's 'spill the tea' video...

Emmerdale confirms new drugs horror as big new story kicks off

Dylan Penders' (Fred Kettle) return to Emmerdale came as a very welcome surprise for April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan). The young man who befriended her when she was living on the streets after running away from home had returned to the village after completing a stint in rehab. He was clean of drugs, he told April, although it was clear that Dylan is still mixed up in some very dodgy stuff. For one thing, there was a nasty wound on his leg, which viewers know was caused by a pitchfork wielded by Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) after he caught Dylan and another person lurking in the barn at Butlers. As the days have gone on, the wound has become infected. The fact that Dylan has been living in the cricket pavilion hasn't helped, and he's steadfastly refused to go to A&E because he knows that some serious questions would be asked about how he was injured. So in Monday (August 4)'s episode, Dylan was in a bad way and starting to get feverish. April knew something had to be done, and as she has access to a fully functioning vet's surgery she took him there. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video As she rummaged through the medical supplies April said she planned to sterilise the wound. Somewhat less confidently she added that she might have a go at stitching it. Luckily before we had to witness the carnage that might have ensued from that, an actual vet appeared in the form of Paddy (Dominic Brunt). He quickly assessed the situation, and realised that Dylan wouldn't be persuaded to see a doctor and without treatment could mean he'd lose his leg. 'He'll look like a balloon animal in an hour,' Paddy insisted. It's an enduring image. So at the risk of his career, Paddy stitched up the wound himself and gave Dylan the antibiotics left over from when he was bitten by a dog, and swore Dylan and April to secrecy about what he'd done. Then he said Dylan could stay at his and Mandy (Lisa Riley)'s house, where Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Mandy were somewhat shocked to find him. More Trending Later, on Paddy's suggestion, Mandy took Dylan and April to the Hide for a pizza. While Dylan was outside alone, he was approached by drug dealer Ray (Joe Absolom) who gave him some cash and pretended to be concerned about Dylan's injured leg – which of course had happened while Dylan was on a job for him. And Ray said he had a 'tiny' new job for him. Back at Tenants, Paddy was cross that Dylan had stayed out when he was supposed to be resting his leg. And when Dylan returned and Mandy was out of the room we saw that Dylan's rucksack was full of drugs. It looks like Ray's 'tiny' job wasn't so tiny after all, and Dylan has been roped into Ray's latest drug dealing scheme. In coming episodes Dylan will be torn between the genuine help and support offered by April, Paddy and others, and Ray's manipulation which could threaten his entire future – and his life. View More » Fred Kettle told us: 'Dylan knows he's doing the wrong thing but it's more morally correct than what he was doing when he was back on the streets. I feel like there's a few different routes it could go down.' If you've got a soap or TV story, video or pictures get in touch by emailing us soaps@ – we'd love to hear from you.
