EXCLUSIVE Delta Goodrem celebrates newlywed bliss with husband Matthew Copley as the couple cruise around Malta with celebrity pals in stunning post-wedding yacht party

Daily Mail23-06-2025
Delta Goodrem 's wedding celebrations have officially gone offshore.
The Aussie pop princess, 40, continued her romantic Maltese nuptials with an extravagant day at sea on Friday, hosting an exclusive yacht party for close friends two days after tying the knot with longtime love Matthew Copley.
The group set sail from the coast of Valletta, boarding a luxury chartered yacht to cruise the sparkling Mediterranean in true celebrity style – and not a detail was spared.
From diving into the crystal-clear water and soaking up the sun to clinking champagne flutes and sharing sweet moments on deck, the newlyweds and their glamorous guests enjoyed a relaxed yet glitzy day of post-wedding bliss.
Before slipping into her swimsuit, Delta was pictured arriving in a stunning powder-blue sleeveless gown that hugged her frame and featured a dramatic draped detail at the waist.
Delta was seen laughing and jumping into the water with her husband before the pair embraced in a cheeky kiss on the cheek while cooling off in the Mediterranean
She accessorised with oversized white sunglasses and a wide-brimmed sunhat, flashing a huge smile as she laughed with friends and waved to onlookers.
Delta later changed into a cobalt-blue one-piece swimsuit with stylish side cut-outs and tie detailing.
The singer paired her look with gold bangles and her jaw-dropping diamond wedding ring.
Delta's husband, musician Matthew Copley, made a stylish arrival, stepping onto the dock in a classic black collared shirt, crisp white shorts, and dark espadrilles.
He carried a monogrammed tote bag and looked every bit the effortlessly chic groom.
Later, he ditched the shirt and was seen relaxing on deck, wrapped in a white towel, sipping champagne and chatting with friends.
In one sweet moment, Delta was seen laughing and jumping into the water with her husband before the pair embraced in a cheeky kiss on the cheek while cooling off in the Mediterranean.
Among the guest list was Nine entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins, who looked cool and collected in a black button-up shirt and dark sunglasses.
He was joined by partner Mia Hawkswell, who rocked a sleek black bikini with a bold red sarong tied around her waist.
The couple were seen mingling with guests on the deck and enjoying the ocean breeze as festivities kicked into full swing.
Delta's mother, Lea, and brother, Trent, were also spotted onboard, soaking up the sun as the Goodrem-Copley clan celebrated their big milestone.
Guests at the ultra-private wedding reportedly received detailed schedules months in advance, with the celebration marking the culmination of a two-year planning process.
Delta and Matthew officially said 'I do' in the most romantic setting imaginable.
The singer married her longtime love and guitarist in the same country where they got engaged last year.
The wedding, which took place on Monday, was an extravagant multi-day celebration attended by the couple's nearest and dearest.
The star-studded nuptials had reportedly been two years in the making, with guests receiving detailed schedules ahead of the big day.
The Innocent Eyes hitmaker enjoyed her hen's party in Sydney back on April 26, surrounded by close friends before jetting overseas for the lavish affair.
Delta recently wrapped up a series of exclusive shows in the UK to mark 20 years since her iconic Mistaken Identity album, but it wasn't just her singing that had people talking.
The songstress, who has remained private about her personal life, got engaged to Matthew, her guitarist and musical collaborator, in September 2023.
'My best friend asked me to marry him,' she giddily captioned the image, alongside a ring emoji.
Delta also shared footage of the precious moment to the social media platform.
Malta holds a particularly special place in her heart – not only was it the setting for her romantic engagement to Matthew, but it also boasts deep personal and professional ties for the singer.
In a video shared on YouTube in 2023, Delta opened up about her bond with the southern European nation.
'My partner's family are all from Malta,' she said, before adding that many of her longtime band members and backup singers also share Maltese heritage.

The chef does not understand sandwiches: Raffles London at the OWO reviewed

I am mesmerised by the restaurants of Raffles London at the OWO (Old War Office) because war approaches and the Old War Office is now a stage set for food, floristry and linen. If this is civilisation – it isn't really, but it thinks it is – who will protect it now? Will we even know if war has started – or care? It was a fine building when I first came – I have reviewed its chilly Mediterranean food, its manic Italian and its tepid French – and it still is. Grand hotels exist to suppress time. It is a preening Edwardian palace with crazed plinths, over-pliant staff and ever sillier restaurants, today's being the Drawing Room. It looks like how people who are not posh imagine posh country houses to be. It's the English restaurant in Trump Tower without the defibrillator, or the more money-ed parts of Weybridge. It is all dark wood and red leather like a bench in the House of Lords, though there is a copy of The Brothers Karamazov on a shelf, and The Dog in Photography. I am here for a themed second world war female spy tea called Secrets & Spies, which I booked while laughing. It is the patisserie-fication of the remembrance of war, and this is apt here. I wonder if the tea exists, though subconsciously, for women who think that eating is an act of war against yourself. We ask for Earl Grey, and the waiter makes us smell it before it is infused for three, four or five minutes (a timer is provided). I feel vaguely captured when I am made to smell tea, but I give him this: it is very good tea. British tea is usually terrible, a feint, part of our mad grandiosity. Then an asparagus and spring vegetable tart, which is small, cold and almost all pea. I will embrace the theme and say it is like being tortured by fascist peas. Then a vile group of sandwiches: chicken with curry emulsion (what?); ham on tomato bread; egg and cress; smoked salmon and horseradish. They are small, cold and weird. The chef does not understand that sandwiches cannot be posh, and the best sandwich – the thick sandwich – will not try. The cakes are madder than Hitler. There is a cake inspired by the GTSP, the sabotage watch 'that won the war', which I had never heard of until I ate a chocolate version of it. There are pastries named for Odette Sansom, the first woman to win the George Cross (elderflower, raspberry and yoghurt); Christine Granville, who was the inspiration for Vesper Lynd (strawberry, vanilla and ginger); Virginia Hall Goillot, our first woman in occupied France (chocolate, coffee, sable); Vera May Atkins, the inspiration for M (maple, pear, pecan). It's weird, like eating the Imperial War Museum because you can't think of anything else to do with it. It's rare that a restaurant leaves me this confused: who is this for? Is it a sting, HM's government being wary of women who take novelty teas? Is it feminism? I leave the halls where, the restaurant blurb tells me, 'some of the nation's most important leaders, statesman and influencers have walked'. Was T.E. Lawrence an influencer and, if so, where is his memorial macaroon? I know it is coming, alongside an entire Madame Tussauds made of pastry. I went on a Karl Marx walking tour of Soho once: every place Marx lived and worked is now a pub, restaurant or cocktail lounge. Civilisation – what it really is – is drowning in food and drink, so make it good. This isn't.

This beautiful, Spanish-style villa is just two hours from Sydney – and sleeps up to 15 guests

'One of the best weekends of my life' is a big call, but I reckon I've just come close. The first reason? I sat down to a long, sun-drenched lunch at Iron Gate Kitchen – Pokolbin's new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant – with seven of my friends. It was the kind of lunch where delicious plates of food keep on coming, stories are flowing, you're not entirely sure how many bottles of wine the table's had – and you don't really care. I love those lunches. The second reason is spending time with said friends. And the third? We spent the weekend at Iron Gate Estate, a Spanish-style villa set on a 25-acre, award-winning winery. I don't think MTV Cribs: Hunter Valley Edition is in the works, but if it was – this place would be on it. I can't overstate how beautiful this villa is. With a soft, sun-worn golden exterior, grand curved archways, terracotta tiles, a lush ultramarine pool, classic European fittings and fixtures, and gardens bursting with pretty florals, it looks like something you'd find in the Spanish countryside – and not two hours from Sydney. With seven bedrooms sleeping up to 15 guests, four bathrooms, multiple living spaces with two fireplaces – and both indoor and outdoor entertainment areas – Iron Gate Estate is also bloody huge. It's perfect for weekends away with friends (just like I did), but also birthday celebrations, family holidays and hen's weekends. And the fact that you have a beaut restaurant and cellar door just a stroll down the road is the cherry (or grape) on top. After lunch – and cocktails on the lawn at sunset – we retreated to the villa for chilled Champagne by the pool. We then made pizzas topped with sweet tomatoes, soft salty prosciutto and warm melted cheese. We danced in the kitchen and played Pick-Up Sticks around the fire. I didn't know where my phone was. I don't remember even thinking about it. We may have drunk more wine. Waking up wrapped in crisp white sheets, with views of the shimmering blue pool, well-manicured lawns and twisted vines, and the smell of bacon frying beckoning me from the kitchen, I felt blissfully happy – peaceful, loved, and, in even better news, I did not have a hangover. I already can't wait to come back to Iron Gate Estate. And the good news is you and your friends can stay here too. My tip: BYO pizza dough – it goes down a treat. Find out more here.

I didn't know he was gay, but I remember thinking he's very handsome… 'It was later I thought 'I've never done Tinder, so I'll have a go', so I went on Tinder and I saw him pop up, and I was like 'OK this is a sign' – so I made the first move by sending a message on Instagram…. 'I didn't know he was gay and I didn't know that he would fancy me, but then he did.'
