Nick Kyrgios to end eight-year French Open exile and make shock return at Roland Garros
Kyrgios is back on tour after enduring an extended period of inactivity due to wrist and knee surgeries.

He picked up his first singles win since October 2022 at the Miami Open, coming from a set down to beat Mackenzie McDonald 3-6 6-3 6-4.
And while he is yet to hit the clay this season, he will feature at Roland Garros as he makes an Aussie alliance with Jordan Thompson in the doubles.
Thompson, who is world number 11 in the doubles rankings, has been chopping and changing his partners this year after regular teammate Max Purcell was handed an 18-month doping ban.
"The French Open was never really on the cards, but after the stuff with Max Purcell, Jordan was looking for a partner and he asked me if I wanted to play," Kyrgios told The Canberra Times.

"We played at the French Open before, so it'll be good to get out there and play with another fellow Aussie and have a bit of fun."
Kyrgios's only career Grand Slam triumph came in the doubles, lifting the Australian Open alongside Thanasi Kokkinakis in 2022.

The French Open will act as Kyrgios's final warm-up for a busy grass-court season, returning to singles action at the Stuttgart Open with an eye on Wimbledon, which kicks off on June 30.
"I'm excited to get out there and play," Kyrgios added. "We put a lot of work in - myself, [physiotherapist] Will [Maher], and the team. I feel good.
"Me and [coach] James [Frawley] have been on the court pretty much every single day. I'm hitting the ball well, it's just a matter of playing matches.
"With this part of my career I'm excited to travel the world and do some fun things whilst I'm out there."

LONDON — Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka staved off an upset bid by resurgent Emma Raducanu at Wimbledon by beating the home favorite 7-6 (6), 6-4 in the third-round at a raucous Centre Court on Friday night. Then arrived an epic game, lasting 13 minutes and containing 22 points, eight deuces, and seven set points for Sabalenka — all ending with Raducanu holding serve. Then, Raducanu had a set point while leading 6-5 in the tiebreaker, but Sabalenka saved it with a drop-shot winner and took the last three points of the set — ending it with a volley winner. The fans provided extra energy for the British player, cheering wildly when Raducanu fired winners and exhaling 'aww!' when she missed. Sabalenka, a three-time Grand Slam champion, said she pretended the cheers were for her. 'Guys wow — what an atmosphere. My ears are still hurting. It was super loud,' she said in an on-court interview. In the second set, Raducanu broke to 3-1 and led 4-1 at the 1-hour, 35-minute mark, but Sabalenka reeled off the last five games. Raducanu, ranked No. 40, had defeated 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in the previous round. 'She pushed me really hard to get this win. I'm happy to see her healthy and back on track,' Sabalenka said. 'I'm pretty sure that soon she's going to be back in the top 10.' Reliever Santillan strikes out Bohm with bases loaded in the 8th, Reds beat Phillies 9-6
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Spencer Steer hit a two-RBI double to spark a five-run third inning and Reds reliever Tony Santillan struck out Alec Bohm with the bases loaded to end the eighth and lead Cincinnati past the Philadelphia Phillies 9-6 on Friday. Phillies starter Jesús Luzardo lasted only two-plus innings and Reds starter Andrew Abbott — both pitchers entered with seven wins — couldn't get out of the fourth. The Reds or Phillies scored at least one run in each of the first six innings and the defending NL East champion Phillies finished with 14 hits. The Reds had 11. Nick Castellanos hit a two-run homer in the first inning to help stake Luzardo (7-5) to a 3-0 lead. Luzardo pitched like an All-Star deep into May with an ERA hovering under 2.00 through his first 10 starts. He has been rocked in most of his outings since. He allowed a run in the second inning and gave up two run-scoring singles, a sacrifice fly and Steer's double in the third that made it 6-3. Elly De La Cruz added an RBI single in the fourth and the Reds tacked on two more runs in the fifth for a 9-4 lead. Sam Moll — one of seven Reds pitchers — tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the win and Emilio Pagán got his 19th save. Santillan truly saved the game when he caught Bohm looking on a 98 mph fastball to keep the score 9-6. Trailing 7-4 in the fifth, the Phillies had runners on the corners with one out and Kyle Schwarber at bat. Schwarber hit a comebacker to the pitcher, who got the forceout at second. Edmundo Sosa hesitated on the basepath and got a late jump before he decided to scurry home. De La Cruz nailed Sosa at the plate to end the inning. Hercules scores winner in 70th minute, Fluminense beats Al Hilal 2-1 to reach Club World Cup semis
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Hercules came off the bench and scored in the 70th minute to lift Fluminense past Al Hilal 2-1 in a Club World Cup quarterfinal match on Friday. Physical play resulted in a pair of yellow cards against both sides as they vied for scoring chances in the first half in front of a crowd of 43,091 at Camping World Stadium. Fluminense struck first after a poor clearance from Al Hilal allowed Brazillian midfielder Martinelli to find the back of the net. The second half opened with an emphatic response from Al Hilal, which had not lost a match in the tournament. Marcos Leonardo, who scored the winner in a 4-3 surprise victory over Manchester City, scored in the 51st minute to tie the game at 1. Hercules, a halftime substitution, scored the tiebreaker and secured a semifinal round berth for Fluminense. Al Hilal was awarded a penalty kick in the first half, but head referee Danny Makkelie overturned the decision after consulting VAR.
