Everyone loves enjoying monsoon season due to the freshness it brings, the rains and the scent of earth at the time of rain, even the winds are refreshing change from hot weather. However, with all this while you like getting drenched in rain, the rain water is doing much harm to your hair and scalp even if you have been out for a while and your hair got wet in drizzle, avoiding it will mean hair related problems.
You need to manage your hair and scalp health during monsoon season to avoid infections and other problems.
How to maintain healthy hair during monsoon season?
Clean scalp
First thing to remember is that you should keep your scalp clean and ensure that it is hydrated to avoid dandruff and flaky scalp issues. Washing your hair regularly with mild and herbal shampoo is essential, next it is important to use herbal oil or include oil massage in your hair care routine. Either oil your hair prior to washing it or a night before your head wash day.
This would hydrate your hair and scalp.
Protect your hair against rainwater
It is important that you wear a waterproof hat or always carry an umbrella to shield your hair against rainwater. This would help avoid your hair getting damp, against infections and making it brittle prone to breakage.
Avoid heat styling
Humidity makes it difficult to style your hair, but you should still avoid using heat styling as it further damages your hair roots and follicles.

Monsoon hair care
as per your hair concerns
Oily scalp
Experiencing dandruff due to the seasonal change of monsoon, you require a shampoo that would help reduce oiliness, for this using an herbal shampoo with bhringraj, amla will help prevent excessive oil formation.
Itchy scalp
It often happens due to scalp related infections that are a result of moisture in the air.
Using a hair cleanser that will help avoid such infections and keep your hair healthy is essential. Use a shampoo with shikakai, neem and hibiscus for your hair.
Dandruff
An anti-dandruff shampoo will help but choosing an Ayurveda formulated anti-dandruff shampoo and hair tonic will be beneficial as it will be free of harmful chemicals.
Frizzy hair
Conditioning your hair with rosemary conditioner, using hair serum after wash will ensure that you are able to manage your hair properly reducing any frizz. Additionally, use neem comb to reduce hair static and to keep the hair follicles healthy. Using a diffuser in your hair dryer will ensure that you do not damage your hair while blow drying.

Himachal Pradesh: Thunag in Mandi faces severe water crisis after cloudburst

Thunag in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district is facing a severe water crisis after recent cloudbursts and floods washed away machinery, water pipes, and transformers used to extract and supply clean water. Jal Shakti Department Chief Engineer Anju Sharma visited the area to assess the damage. Speaking to ANI, she said, "All 81 panchayats in this constituency have been affected. Our people are tracing the sources... We collected all the staff as it is very difficult to reach from one place to another." She added, "The pipes have been arranged, but it is difficult to reach... We have gone a lot back for permanent restoration. The big schemes have suffered a huge setback. Our transformers and machinery have been washed away and tracing it is a huge challenge for the department and trying to do it on war level. I want to appeal to the people to support the department and use the water from storage or hand pumps and drink only after boiling it." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Play War Thunder now for free War Thunder Play Now Undo According to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), continuous rainfall across Himachal Pradesh in the past 24 hours has seriously impacted public utilities. "Efforts are underway to restore services swiftly, and field teams are on alert in highly affected regions such as Mandi and Kullu." The report added that districts like Shimla, Solan, and Lahaul and Spiti saw minimal or no disruption. However, SDMA warned that continued rainfall could worsen the situation. Authorities have advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel, especially in areas prone to landslides. Delhi breathes easier: National capital sees cleanest air streak of 2025 with AQI under 100 for 11 straight days

Delhi has recorded its cleanest air stretch of the year, with the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) staying below 100 for the 11th consecutive day, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). On Sunday, Delhi's AQI stood at 76 at 4 pm, placing it firmly in the 'satisfactory' category. The current spell of improved air began on June 26, when the index fell to 94 after registering a 'moderate' level of 134 the previous day. Since then, the capital's air quality has consistently remained under the 100 mark, a threshold CPCB categorises as satisfactory. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Tinnitus: what this grandson discovered will surprise you Hearing Magazine Undo This extended phase of cleaner air comes as a rare respite for a city frequently plagued by hazardous pollution levels, particularly in winter months. On Sunday, areas like Palam saw maximum temperatures fall to 33.5°C — nearly four degrees below normal and three degrees lower than the previous day. At Safdarjung, the minimum temperature stood at 28.8°C, close to seasonal averages. Humidity levels remained high across the city, touching 83% by evening. Despite the moisture, the rain has played a cleansing role in the atmosphere. Ayanagar recorded 11.7 mm of rain in the 24-hour period ending Sunday morning. Palam saw the highest at 20.9 mm, while Safdarjung and Lodi Road received lighter showers. More rain likely on Monday The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Monday, forecasting light to moderate rain with possible thunderstorms. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 33°C and 26°C, respectively. If current conditions persist, Delhi may extend its clean air streak even further—an encouraging sign for residents and policymakers alike during what is typically a season of fluctuating environmental indicators.
