Princess Kate Isn't Traveling Overseas This Month—But She Is Making This Major Solo Appearance Instead
On Wednesday, March 12, Kensington Palace announced that Prince William was making his first overseas trip of the year—and his first visit to Estonia—but some royal fans were left disappointed that the Princess of Wales wasn't traveling with him. However, just hours later the palace released a second bit of news, sharing that Princess Kate would be making her official return to St. Patrick's Day duties.
The Princess of Wales, who serves as Colonel of the Irish Guards, will visit the regiment at the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in London's Wellington Barracks on March 17. The princess was forced to skip last year's parade due to her cancer diagnosis, which she publicly announced on March 22, 2024.
Per Kensington Palace, the Princess of Wales "will award long service and good conduct medals to soldiers within the regiment." And along with presenting sprigs of shamrock to officers and guardsmen, she'll take part in one of the most anticipated parts of the parade by greeting Turlough Mór (otherwise known as Seamus), the regiment's Irish Wolfhound mascot. And, per tradition, she'll enjoy a pint of Guinness in the dining hall where guardsmen will propose a toast to the princess.
Although Prince William often accompanies his wife at the traditional St. Patrick's Day event, he will not be attending this year.
The princess made her first appearance at the event in 2012, attending the St. Patrick's Day parade solo less than a year after she married Prince William.
Since then, the Princess of Wales has attended the parade every year except for 2016, when she decided to spend time with Prince George and Princess Charlotte at their Norfolk home ahead of a royal tour to India and Bhutan. In 2020 and 2021, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As for Prince William's plans next week, he'll be visiting Estonia on March 20 and 21. The prince will visit the Mercian Regiment—an infantry regiment of the British Army—in his role as Colonel-in-Chief. He'll also learn how the country is responding to the conflict in Ukraine and will take on engagements related to renewable energy and technology.

Metro's previous two efforts, We Don't Trust You and We Still Don't Trust You, not only both debuted atop the Billboard 200, but the former snagged a Grammy nomination for best rap album, while the latter also scored a Grammy nomination for best melodic rap performance for its title track. Not to mention, the Billboard Hot 100-topping 'Like That' with Kendrick Lamar kickstarted last year's monstrous rap beef between K-Dot and Drake (and was also Grammy nominated for best rap song and best rap performance). While not much is confirmed in regards to what we can expect on Metro's new LP, the producer has sprinkled tons of breadcrumbs along the way on Instagram and elsewhere to help fans figure out what they can expect. The album was technically supposed to drop last Tuesday (July 22), but was delayed at the last minute for unknown reasons: 'Patience is a virtue' was all Metro said in regards to the delay. So as everyone patiently waits with bated breath for Friday, here's everything there is to know about A Futuristic Summa so far, including confirmed features, track list and more. The Mixtape Will Be Hosted By DJ Spinz When Metro announced the mixtape earlier this month, one of the first confirmed details to emerge was that the listening experience would be hosted by DJ Spinz. Spinz is a well known Atlanta DJ-turned-record producer who created some of the biggest hits to ever come out of the ATL; 'F—k Up Some Commas' by Future, 'Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)' by the late Rich Homie Quan and 'Blasé' by Ty Dolla $ign are just a few examples. The announcement was celebrated in the IG comments by people very familiar with Spinz' legacy in Atlanta, including Big Sean and Zaytoven. A Futuristic Summa Will Have 23 Tracks and 21 Features When A Futuristic Summa arrives on Friday, it will come stacked with 23 tracks and 21 features. When fans go to pre-save the album on Metro's MySpace-themed website, it lists out the track numbers and features. So far, the confirmed features on A Futuristic Summa include Lil Baby, 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka Flame, Roscoe Dash, T.I., BunnaB, Rocko, YK Niece, Meany (Of Shop Boyz), Rich Kidz, Travis Porter, Young Dro, Quavo, J Money and, of course, Future. There are still more features to announced, but with a tracklist this stacked, it's looking to be an ATL family reunion. The First Single Features Roscoe Dash While it's not yet available on streaming, fans who tuned into Metro's website were able to listen to a snippet of the album's first single: 'Slide' with Roscoe Dash. The melodic cut is given a less than two-minute preview on Metro's website, but was then released in full on YouTube on July 4. The track is a good appetizer for what fans can expect from the record — a nostalgic spin of early-2000s energy. The Cover Art Pays Tribute to Young Scooter and Takeoff A Futuristic Summa's colorful cover art has a lot going on, but also gives multiple hints showing this tape will fully be dedicated to the ATL: Two kids seen running through the streets with squirt guns on the cover are wearing T-shirts that read: 'RIP Scooter' and 'RIP Takeoff.' Metro worked extensively with both rappers before their respective passings. Metro Teased a New Track Snippet With Waka Flocka Flame and Quavo On Sunday (July 27), Metro showcased a studio session with Jose Guapo. Alongside Waka Flocka Flame, they played through a new track, reportedly titled 'Atlanta Bow Bow,' which also features Quavo and the 'O Let's Do It' rapper. The artists are seen getting incredibly rowdy when Flocka's verse comes on, adding to the speculation that this is gonna be an album catered to an outside vibe. It Was Likely Delayed Because of Future When Metro announced last week that he'd be delaying A Futuristic Summa, he did so by linking to a video that included a voicemail from Future. Metro Boomin dropped some heat on Friday (Aug. 1) with his A Futuristic Summa mixtape. He released the first single, 'Slide' with Roscoe Dash, on YouTube on the Fourth of July. The hip-hop superproducer's MySpace-themed website revealed 23 tracks would be featured on A Futuristic Summa, which is hosted by renowned Atlanta DJ/producer DJ Spinz. Outside of Dash, Quavo, Young Dro, 2 Chainz, Lil Baby, Future, T.I., Waka Flocka Flame, Gucci Mane, Young Thug and more were previously revealed as features. Spider-Man: Brand New Day set photos seem to confirm the Marvel movie will be set over a year before Avengers: Doomsday

The plot of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up with the addition of Jon Bernthal's Punisher to the cast and news of its more street level setting, and now we may have some more info about where it lands on the MCU timeline in relation to Avengers: Doomsday. The set photos, seen below, show some signage for a construction project that's happening in the film, with the information on the sign indicating that the project will be finished in "December 2027." This places Spider-Man: Brand New Day as roughly contemporary to Thunderbolts*, which takes place in late 2027, according to the official timeline. This in turn establishes roughly where Spider-Man: Brand New Day will take place in the lead up to Avengers: Doomsday, the events of which kick off 14 months after Thunderbolts*, according to that film's post-credits scene, which appears to show the arrival of the Fantastic Four in the MCU from their alternate timeline of Earth-828. That generally tracks with the release order of the films as well, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day arriving in July 2026, and Avengers: Doomsday following in December. Spider-Man: Brand New Day takes its title from the 'Brand New Day' era of the comics, which took place after the dissolution of Peter Parker's marriage to Mary Jane Watson, and the erasure of his secret identity from the memories of nearly everyone on Earth. The events of the preceding film in the franchise, Spider-Man: No Way Home, generally echo this, with Peter enlisting Doctor Strange to make everyone in the world forget his identity after it was exposed in the end of its predecessor Spider-Man: Far From Home. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to premiere on July 31, 2026 as part of Marvel Phase 6.
