Inside Jamie Vardy & wife Becky's plans for US move with talks for role in huge TV show & new football club

The Sun05-05-2025
THE Vardys are eyeing a move to America after Becky held talks with Stateside TV bosses — while Jamie is wanted by MLS footie sides.
We can reveal Wag Becky, 43, is a target for the makers of hit US reality shows including Netflix real estate smash Selling Sunset.

And Jamie, 38, who announced ten days ago he will be leaving Leicester City, has US teams including San Diego FC and Wayne Rooney's ex club D.C. United interested in his signature.
A move would see the couple branch out to become famous on both sides of the Atlantic like Posh and Becks, and even the Kardashian reality TV clan.
It would also represent a 'fresh start' after the Wagatha Christie saga that saw Becky take on Coleen Rooney in court.
A source said: 'The US is the most likely next move for the Vardys and is partly because Becky has had interest in TV work there.
'She was in talks with the makers of Selling Sunset earlier this year. They wanted her to appear as the potential buyer of a luxury home there.
'That stalled because of the California wildfires in January but could still happen.
'If it does, the show is a great 'shop window' for stars in the US to go on to other things.
'And other networks over there are aware of her because of her high profile through starring on I'm a Celeb and also the Wagatha case.
'It would also represent a fresh start for them and their family and a chance of moving on from recent events in the UK.
'But it does depend on what football offers Jamie receives as he's still the main breadwinner.
'Jamie probably has a couple of years left in the game, and a lot of older players like him end up in the US.
'He likes the idea of America, and could even end up with Beckham's Inter Miami side.
'But both Wrexham and Birmingham are still possible over here — and have their own Hollywood links.'
Striker Jamie joined Leicester, nicknamed the Foxes, from non-league Fleetwood in 2012 and has won the 2015-16 Premier League title plus the 2021 FA Cup.
The couple, who wed in 2016, have three children together.
Becky also has two daughters from a previous relationship and is stepmum to Jamie's daughter from a previous romance.

William Saliba warns Premier League rivals over 'scary' Arsenal signing

Arsenal star William Saliba says Premier League defenders are in for a 'scary' ride next season following Viktor Gyokeres' arrival from Sporting. The Gunners officially announced that they had won the race for Gyokeres at the weekend, with the club agreeing a deal worth €63.5million (£54.8m) – plus €10m (£8.6m) in add-ons – with Portuguese champions Sporting. The prolific Swede became Arsenal's sixth signing of the window, following Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi and Cristhian Mosquera through the doors at the Emirates. Manchester United had also been pursuing an agreement for Gyokeres across the summer, but the 27-year-old attacker was intent on playing Champions League football next term – and made it clear he favoured a switch to north London. Gyokeres joined up with his new team-mates in Singapore on Sunday and was formally introduced to the crowd before Arsenal's pre-season victory over Newcastle. While there is a chance Gyokeres could make his debut in Arsenal's upcoming friendly with arch-rivals Tottenham on Thursday, Mikel Arteta has hinted fans may have to be a little more patient to see the forward in action for the first time. 'We know how good he is, it's scary to play against him,' Arsenal defender Saliba told Hayters TV when asked about Gyokeres following the side's 3-2 defeat of Newcastle. 'Of course, I'm so happy to have him in my club, and I'm sure that he will help us to win games and win trophies.' Asked what exactly makes Gyokeres a 'scary' prospect for opposition defenders, Saliba replied: 'Because when you face a striker who scores goals, you have to be focused! 'But now he's in our team and he will score for us, so that's good.' Saliba believes Arsenal's hierarchy have signalled their intent with the quality they have brought in during the transfer window. 'Our mindset is to win the Premier League and we will give everything from the first game,' the France centre-back added. 'We have a lot of new players and they will hopefully help us to win this league.' Arsenal's wonderkid Max Dowman stole the show with an magnificent cameo performance off the bench against Newcastle, drawing a foul from Joelinton to win Martin Odegaard's late penalty. Fellow Hale End academy graduate Marli Salmon was also given playing time in Singapore, coming off the bench for Saliba in the 77th minute of the contest. 'They are unbelievable. Of course, they are young, we mustn't put pressure on them, but to play the way they play at 15!' Saliba said of the two 15-year-old talents. 'I remember when I was 15, I was not playing with the first-team. I was with the U17s, so it's good. 'We have to protect them and give them support, but of course, they are really, really good players, and I hope they will help us as soon as possible. Saliba hopes Arsenal continue to build on their 'positive' showings in Asia heading into the new season More Trending 'There are a lot of positive things. We played two games; we won two games,' he said of the wins over AC Milan and Newcastle. 'There are also a lot of things to improve, but of course we have to keep going like that. 'We have three games left before the Premier League, so we have to keep going and keep winning games. 'Pressure is good, that means we are in a good place. If we are not good we don't have pressure. We play football to have pressure.' For more stories like this, check our sport page. Follow Metro Sport for the latest news on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Tottenham transfer news: Morgan Gibbs-White, Joao Palhinha, Eberechi Eze and more

Thomas Frank has a seismic job on his hands to rebuild Tottenham and lead the freshly-crowned European champions into a new era. Spurs come into the summer off the back of success in the Europa League final - a first trophy in 17 years, delivered by Ange Postecoglou. However, silverware was not enough to save the Aussie's job after what was otherwise a catastrophic campaign, with Tottenham finishing 17th in the Premier League on just 38 points. Frank was sounded out as Daniel Levy's first choice to replace Postecoglou in the dugout, with the Dane winning his fair share of admirers over a seven-year spell at the Brentford helm. He oversaw a remarkable rise in the Bees' fortunes, guiding them to promotion to the top flight in 2021, and has since established Brentford as a top-flight side, but has now moved to one of the Premier League's 'big six' in a bid to restore Spurs' status as a contender at the upper end of the table. First on the docket for Frank is to bolster Spurs' problem-laden squad over the coming weeks, building a team capable of surging back up the table, and the capture of West Ham's Mohammed Kudus for £55m is the first step in doing that. Areas to improve Tottenham might be boasting European champion status, but their team is hardly reflective of such an achievement. At the heart of their issues is depth, something that was brutally exposed last term in the midst of their unrelenting injury crisis. Future injuries in defence cannot lead to Archie Gray being plonked at centre-back. As such, Spurs will be desperate for cover in those defensive positions, especially given the amount of time Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero spent in the treatment table last season. They'll also be targeting a top quality defensive midfielder to elevate the team, given the issues experienced in that position. Spurs have a few top-drawer midfielders, with the likes of James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall impressing, but with Yves Bissouma 's future up in the air, a new No 6 is a priority. Meanwhile, going forward, Spurs need reinforcements. Mathys Tel 's loan move has already been made permanent, and alongside the arrival of Kudus these signings act to partly address issues in depth on the wing and up top. However, Spurs could really do with another striker option and ideally an extra body on the wing, though their much-publicised pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White has been derailed after the Englishman signed a new contract at the City Ground. Done deals Ins: Mohammed Kudus (West Ham, £55m), Mathys Tel (Bayern Munich, £30m), Kevin Danso (Lens, £21m), Luka Vuskovic (Hadjuk Split, £9.4m), Kota Takai (Kawasaki Frontale, £5m) Outs: Pierre-Emile Hojberg (Marseille, £17m), Alejo Veliz (Rosario Central, loan), Fraser Forster (released), Sergio Reguilon (released), Alfie Whiteman (released) Potential targets Morgan Gibbs-White, Nottingham Forest Spurs triggered Gibbs-White's release clause of £60m and the midfielder was set to have his medical, but the move now appears to have fallen apart. Forest considered legal action over what they believe to be an illegal approach, causing proceedings to stall, before the Englishman put pen to paper over a surprise new contract. Eberechi Eze, Crystal Palace Crystal Palace's FA Cup hero Eze could be in line for a switch to a big six side this summer, with Tottenham seemingly sounding him out as a top target. The 26-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign last season but Oliver Glasner will no doubt do all he can to keep hold of the England international ahead of their European tour next term. In addition, Spurs are expected to face competition from Arsenal and maybe Chelsea. Marc Guehi, Crystal Palace Another Palace standout, Eagles skipper Guehi has been near the top of Tottenham's wish list for a while now. They had a late move for the defender rejected in the winter window but could go back in for him in the coming weeks, with his contract at Selhurst Park expiring in 2026. Yoane Wissa, Brentford Spurs are interested in Brentford's Yoane Wissa, though it is Nottingham Forest who are leading the race for the Congo international after seeing a £20m bid rejected. Wissa is Brentford's leading scorer in the Premier League with 45 goals. Spurs originally held an interest in the striker in January, and have been quoted a price of £50m for his signature. Joao Palhinha, Bayern Munich Tottenham are said to be considering an approach for former Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, with Bayern Munich apparently ready to sell the Portuguese. Palhinha has only been in the Bundesliga for one season after completing a £47m deal, though he has found playing time hard to come by in Bavaria.

Vaclav Cerny U turn as Rangers winger search ramps up with Jesurun Rak-Sakyi transfer rules 'set'

Russell Martin is keen to add more depth on the flanks with the new Premiership season fast approaching Winger Vaclav Cerny looks to have earned a surprise second chance at Wolfsburg - after appearing to be on the brink of an exit after his loan spell at Rangers. ‌ The Czech international was the stand-out performer at Ibrox last season during a disappointing campaign - but the Scottish Premiership side would not move to make the deal permanent. ‌ The 27-year-old's agent David Nehoda left the door open to a return to Glasgow earlier in the summer window claiming that "everything remains possible". ‌ And Cerny was reportedly thrown on the transfer list shortly after his Wolfsburg return with the club having to seriously cut their squad amid ongoing financial problems with owners German car giants Volkswagen. His time at the club appeared to finally be coming to an end last week with reports in Turkey suggesting a £5.2million switch to Besiktas had been agreed - but the German side have reportedly performed a last-gasp U-turn. According to the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung, the attacker is currently in talks with the club about a deal with his current contract expiring in 2027. The report comes after boss Paul Simonis heaped praise on Cerny: "He can make the difference because he's very creative on the ball and can surprise the opponent with his left foot. "It's not just about scoring it's about how he connects the lines, how he finds space. That's exactly what we need in that role." Russell Martin and Rangers ' sporting director Kevin Thelwell are ramping up their search for a successor for Cerny with Go Ahead Eagles winger Oliver Antman on the agenda. ‌ The Finland international has reported for training on Monday morning amid the interest - with Crystal Palace 's Jesurun Rak-Sakyi also of interest. Boss Martin admitted to being an admirer of the England U21 international having previously attempted to sign him while at Southampton. ‌ A deal has been thrown into doubt after an injury scare for Rak-Sakyi with a whopping £10million price tag has been placed on the forward. But The Sun report the Premier League side would be open to a loan move to Ibrox - if there was a guaranteed sale at the end of the contract.
