Akshay Kumar Wanted To Star With 'Young' Kareena Kapoor So His Own Age Would Look Less: Pahlaj Nihalani
Former CBFC chief and filmmaker Pahlaj Nihalani recently opened up about the changing dynamics of Bollywood casting and rising entourage costs. Speaking on the YouTube channel Learn From The Legend, he recalled a moment during the making of the 2003 film Talaash: The Hunt Begins, when Akshay Kumar insisted that Kareena Kapoor be cast as the female lead.
Nihalani explained how casting decisions used to be strictly the domain of producers and directors, with actors rarely getting involved. 'Earlier, producers and directors used to cast and heroes wouldn't interfere in casting. The first actor to interfere in casting with me was Akshay Kumar in Talash in 2002. He told me that 'we can start the movie tomorrow, and you can give me any amount that you want, but the heroine of this film will be Kareena Kapoor.' It was one of the most costly films of that time, it was made in Rs 22 crore. This was the first time in my career that an actor had demanded a certain cast."
Pahlaj added that Akshay's motivation was partly about image. 'Sometimes, as the actors grow old they want to star against younger actresses so that their own age looks less. That was the first time I heard that, but these days actors decide everything and producers work as a courier service."
The veteran filmmaker also slammed the ballooning costs caused by actors' entourages. 'Where one person was working now 10 people are employed. Earlier, there used to be one vanity van, but now actors demand six vanity vans — one for exercising, one for the kitchen, one for meetings. Sharam ani chahiye un actors ko ko che vanity vans mangate hai (Actors feel ashamed for asking for 6 vanity vans). Earlier, only makeup man used to go with actors, now they demand a separate hairdresser and a person just to hold their mirror. They give Rs 1.5 lakh bills for nothing. Earlier they used to bring home-cooked food, but now they want diet food. They want drugs at night and diet food in the morning."

What is the '21 21 21' rule behind Kapil Sharma's weight-loss transformation? Celebrity fitness coach says it ‘works best for beginners'
Agencies Kapil Sharma's fitness journey took a transformative turn with Yogesh Bhateja's 21-21-21 method. The phased approach helped Kapil build discipline without stress, proving that small, consistent steps can bring big changes in physical and mental well-being. Kapil Sharma's recent weight loss transformation has surprised fans and followers alike, prompting questions about how the popular comedian managed to shed the extra kilos so effectively. The answer, according to his fitness coach Yogesh Bhateja, lies in a simple yet structured approach called the '21-21-21 rule.' Yogesh Bhateja, known for training celebrities such as Farah Khan and Sonu Sood, shared insights about Kapil's journey in a candid video interview on the YouTube channel GunjanShouts , published on April 6. In it, he detailed how fitness isn't just about breaking a sweat in the gym — it starts with awareness and mental alignment. Bhateja began by pointing out how most people adopt unhealthy eating habits without even realising it — from butter-laden bread and tea for breakfast to casually snacking on street food. The problem, he said, lies in a lack of conscious thought about what we consume and how it affects our daily functioning. "It's when we start clocking in what we are eating, monitoring water intake, breathing patterns, and other lifestyle details — that's when real change begins," Bhateja explained. When Kapil initially approached his transformation cautiously, Bhateja made sure not to overwhelm him. Instead of intense workouts, he introduced gentle stretches, focusing on how the body responded rather than pushing physical limits. At the core of Kapil Sharma's transformation is Bhateja's unique three-stage fitness formula — the 21-21-21 rule. It involves three distinct 21-day phases that slowly build momentum toward a sustainable and holistic change. The first three weeks are solely about encouraging movement. Bhateja advised clients to return to the basics — simple physical training exercises reminiscent of school PT sessions. According to him, no dietary changes are required during this stage. 'Just move every day — stretch all your muscles — and you'll already be off to a great start,' he said, even adding that one could enjoy jalebis without guilt during this phase. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kapil Sharma (@kapilsharma) Once movement becomes a habit, Bhateja encourages small tweaks in eating habits. 'I'm not talking about cutting carbs or calories. Just simple changes,' he clarified. For instance, switching nighttime milk consumption to the morning to avoid digestive issues or being mindful of how much sugar and milk one adds to their tea. He stresses modification over elimination — making lifestyle changes sustainable. The final 21-day segment focuses on emotional patterns tied to consumption. Bhateja advised taking control over habits like smoking, alcohol intake, and caffeine dependency. These changes, he said, not only improve physical health but also reinforce emotional discipline and self-control. Bhateja highlighted that the strength of this routine lies in its simplicity and phased commitment. 'These 62 days will help you build an attitude without pain,' he said. 'When you complete each 21-day phase, you're not depriving yourself — you're simply shifting your lifestyle in manageable portions.' By the end of the third phase, most individuals — like Kapil Sharma — have already experienced visible change. According to Bhateja, this often leads to a natural desire to push harder and continue without external motivation. 'This is what works best for beginners,' Bhateja concluded. The 21-21-21 rule, he believes, is especially effective for those overwhelmed by the idea of fitness or those who've failed at crash diets and intense gym regimens. By focusing on one goal at a time and embracing progress gradually, it sets the stage for long-term, sustainable change. So if you've been wondering how Kapil Sharma managed such a noticeable transformation, the answer isn't just in celebrity trainers or high-end gyms. It lies in a simple rule, some patience, and a step-by-step commitment to change.

Metro In Dino Box Office Preview: Anurag Basu directorial run time, screen count, advance booking, & opening day
After Barfi and Jagga Jasoos, director Anurag Basu is back on the big screen with Metro In Dino, which is a spiritual sequel to Life In A Metro. The film is an anthology with a strong ensemble Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Saswata Chatterjee. The film has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved run time of 2 hours and 42 minutes. Metro In Dino is seeing an All-India release by Anil Thadani, who is set to bring the film on about 2000 screens, with showcasing largely catering to the multiplexes in urban belts. The Anurag Basu directorial has secured better/similar showcasing than a giant like Jurassic World in national chains like PVRInox, & Cinepolis, which is a big win from distribution point of view for the feature film. However, despite higher showcasing in the chains, the pre-sales are not up-to the mark. A tighter release would have been better approach for a film of this genre, as it looks like an urban film catering to the elite audience. As on Thursday at 6 PM, Metro In Dino has sold 9500 tickets in the top three national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis. The film will be looking to close with pre-sales around the 16,500 to 17,500 ticket mark, which is not so good for a film made on this budget. The first day of the Anurag Basu directorial is expected to be in the range of Rs 3.75 crore to Rs 4.25 crore, and the hope is on the word of mouth to kick in from there, and lead to bigger spikes in business on Saturday and Sunday. The film should be hoping to double up on Saturday, stabilize on Sunday, followed by a Monday similar to Friday to have a shot at emerging a success story. Metro In Dino would have opened better by at-least 25 to 30 percent if the music landed as well as the first part, but apart from Zamana Lage, nothing has really hit the bullseye so far.

Jurassic World: Rebirth Box Office Preview: Scarlett Johansson starrer run time, screen count, advance booking & opening day
The dinosaurs are back to rule the big screen with Jurassic World: Rebirth. The film features Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey in lead roles, and is the fourth part of the Jurassic World franchise. The science fiction action thriller is all set to release in India on July 4, and has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved run time of 2 hours and 13 minutes. Jurassic is a popular franchise in India, and among the first from the West to break-out over here, with a strong reach in the mass belts too. The film is looking at a wide release on about 2500 screens nationwide, though the showcasing is hampered due to competition from films like Metro: Inn Dino as also holdovers like Sitaare Zameen Par, Maa, and F1. There are centers in Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata where the film has got lower shows than Metro: Inn Dino, which is surprising, as the pre-sales of the Anurag Basu directorial are nowhere close to the Dinosaur saga. The showcasing dispute resulted in the advances to kick-off late on Wednesday night, but the film is showing good momentum in the pre-sales ever since the tickets went live on the counters. As on Thursday at 6 PM, Jurassic World: Rebirth has sold 35,000 tickets in the top 3 national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis – and the film will be looking to close its pre-sales around the 50,000 mark. The advances would have been much higher with a usual advance booking cycle, and the delay has significantly impacted the sales. A lot for Jurassic World: Rebirth depends on the spot bookings through the day, and being a franchise that caters to the masses, it is expected to make up for the shortfall in pre-sales. Jurassic World: Rebirth should be targeting first-day business in the range of Rs 8.50 crore to Rs 9.50 crore, with an outside chance of hitting the Rs 10 crore mark depending on the spot bookings. With right showcasing and advance cycle, a Rs 10 crore start was a no-brainer for a franchise like Jurassic World, but now a lot is left on the ticket sales at counter. None-the-less, a good opening is on-cards for the Scarlett Johansson starrer, and the film should see good spikes over the weekend to pack a solid punch. After Final Destination: Bloodlines, Mission Impossible 8, and F1, the film is a strong contender for being another success story from Hollywood in India. With a start around the Rs 9 crore mark, the first weekend of Jurassic World: Rebirth could hit the Rs 40 crore mark, as a rise in showcasing in key urban markets is expected on Saturday and Sunday.
