Sony Sab's Tenali Rama 2, Ekta Kapoor's Pyaar Ki Rahein Set To Go Off Air: Report
TV serials like Pyaar Ki Rahein, Tenali Rama 2 and many others are reportedly on the verge of closing down.
With OTT platforms diverting a significant section of the audience to their content, we get to see a notable shift in the choices of programmes and storylines. Additionally, global content with a limited period of time is tracking much attention. Meanwhile, Indian television shows are also falling prey to a major dip in the TRPs. Amid them, two popular shows – Ekta Kapoor's Pyaar Ki Rahein and Sony Sab's Tenali Rama 2 are on the verge of going off air very soon.
According to a report by Tellychakkar, Tenali Rama Season 2, one of SAB TV's beloved historical comedies, will bid adieu to television screens. The surprising development reportedly came in, following the makers' decision to shift their episodes to late-night slots, leaving the fans disheartened. They were recently shifted to the 10 pm slot due to a significant dip in the TRP during its prime-time position.
Talking about the series, it stars Krishna Bharadwaj in the titular role, alongside Pankaj Berry as Tathacharya: Krishnadevraya's father figure, Manav Gohil as Maharaja Krishnadevaraya, Jiten Mukhi as Mahamantri Timmarasu, then replaced by Amit Pachori, Sumit Kaul as Girgit Raj and Pavitra Punia as Laila, Sultanet assassin and a Vishkanya. Despite its strong beginning, the series has already carved out a special place with its unique blend of humour, wisdom and Indian folklore.
Now that the show is set to go off air, fans have begun flooding social media platforms showing their disappointment.
We wait four years and now just we got a news tenali rama going off air so soon bhaii please noo we are waiting so long please request maan lijiye and give some extention atleast #WeLoveTenaliRama DONT OFF AIR TENALI RAMA @sabtv @Contiloe1 — sʜɪᴠᴀɴɢɪ (@Anubhavglory_sv) June 25, 2025
We want tenali Rama season 2 and madam sir going off air Karo— Sarvesh (@Sarvesh23319073) December 11, 2021
True That.. major reason for the show going off air is low TRP, sadly majority of our Indian Audience wants only Saas Bahu Show. Tenali Rama was the best family show undoubtedly, learnt lot of things too— Mr.Human (@MrHuman777) November 13, 2020
It felt so good when Sab TV showed a promo of Tenali Rama being telecast for more 2 weeks and then going off air. They are respecting the audience and welcoming the new show happily unlike a certain channel who just axes shows without even giving it time for proper closure.🙂— -harshiey's syrup⁷ (@HarshitaxDiary) November 3, 2020
Is tenali rama is going to off air soon. Pls dont do this i m great fan of tenalirama and regular viewer— Mr R.K. 🇮🇳🇮🇳 (@Er_Reetesh) August 22, 2019
Similarly, in a report by Times Now, Dangal TV's Pyaar Ki Raahein, produced by Ekta Kapoor under her Balaji Telefilms, is also on the verge of going off air by the channel. But the reason behind this alleged closure is not the dip in TRP but rather the cunningness of the makers. Sources close to the development revealed the real reason behind the series, 'Balaji's new show 'Pyaar Ki Raahein' is going to end soon. The reason is that Balaji is releasing new episodes of the show on its app before the channel 'Dangal'. That is why the channel talked to the makers and decided not to release it further on Dangal. A total of 90 episodes of the show will be shot."
Starring Rachana Parulkar and Manav Dua in the lead, Pyaar Ki Raahein showcases a beautiful love story.
Apart from these two, Kumkum Bhagya, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab, Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udann, Megha Barsenge, Saajanji Ghar Aaye and Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha are some other serials which are also suffering a dip in the TRP and are soon going to be off-air as per another report by Times Now.

Actor questioned over use of live python in opera
Jajpur: An Odia opera actor on Wednesday appeared before the Forest department officials in Jajpur district and explained the controversy surrounding his use of a live python during a rehearsal performance. A video clip of the incident went viral on social media, triggering concerns over the illegal use of wild animals in live performances. According to reports, the rehearsal of Tulasi Gananatya troupe for Odia play 'Ei Bodhe Sesha Dekha' (This is likely to be the last meeting) took place near Chandikhole on Tuesday. In the viral video, the actor Sai Satyajit Panda was seen holding a live snake, identified as an African ball python, on stage as part of a dramatic sequence. The video footage drew sharp criticism online and prompted wildlife advocates to flag the use of wild animals in entertainment, which is prohibited under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. Following social media outrage, Bayree Forest Range office issued a notice summoning the actor. While presenting his side before the Forest department, actor Panda said the snake was a legally purchased exotic species, not protected under the Indian wildlife schedules. He claimed to have bought it in compliance with the rules and insisted no harm was caused during the performance. 'The snake I was holding at rehearsal was not venomous. It is an African bell python, and many people in Bhubaneswar keep these snakes as pets. It is allowed to be kept as a pet under Indian laws. Since I am an actor and a celebrity, the video got more attention online,' Panda said. He also claimed to be a pet lover and denied that the snake was harmed or 'misused'. Bayree Forest Range Officer Adwit Kumar Pradhan confirmed Panda's appearance and stated that no FIR in connection with the incident has been filed yet. He said under the Wildlife Protection Act, the public display or use of wild or exotic animals without clearance from the authorities can invite legal consequences, regardless of whether the species is native or imported. The matter is under investigation and action will be taken as per law, he added.

'Upwards of Rs ...' — Ravi Shastri reveals how much India's cricket stars really earn
Ravi Shastri (Getty Images) NEW DELHI: Former India head coach and World Cup-winning all-rounder Ravi Shastri has lifted the lid on the staggering sums earned by India's cricketing superstars, whose status and popularity are similar to global icons like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo . Speaking on the 'Stick to Cricket' podcast with Michael Vaughan , Shastri didn't hold back when asked how much Indian cricketers make off the field. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! "They earn a lot. They earn a lot through endorsements, for sure," Shastri said, adding, "Upwards of Rs 100 crores. Which would say 10 million pounds." How and why Rishabh Pant's England tour could come to an abrupt end due to toe fracture The revelation left the panel in awe, as Shastri broke down the math: "I would say… you just calculate 100 rupees is a pound. So you work backwards and you calculate upwards of that because someone like MS Dhoni or a Virat Kohli or a Sachin Tendulkar at his pomp, they would do over 15, 20 ads." Poll Do you think Indian cricketers deserve their high earnings from endorsements? Yes, they work hard for it No, it's excessive It depends on their performance He further elaborated on how top Indian players manage their packed schedules: "It's per day. There's no time. They could easily do more because of the amount of cricket being played. So, you know, they'll do an ad for a year and give a day — just one day to shoot. That's all you'll get. And then you play it out as many times as you want." Shastri's comments reflect cricket's unmatched cultural impact in India — comparable to football's status in Brazil or Argentina. Players like Dhoni, Kohli, and Tendulkar enjoy not only nationwide adoration but also global commercial appeal, with brand deals and social media fanbases rivaling those of Messi or Ronaldo.
