Hari Hara Veera Mallu was initially directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. But as the film kept getting delayed, Krish opted out of the project, and producer AM Rathnam's son, Jyothi Krishna, stepped in to helm the remaining portions. After he took over the project, the first thing Jyothi did was scrap Bobby Deol's character.
A source close to the unit says that after witnessing Bobby Deol's mind-blowing performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, his role was rewritten, and a lot more scenes were added. The director says that Bobby's Aurangzeb character now has a backstory, and his look, scenes with Pawan Kalyan and action episodes were rewritten and re-shot by the makers.
Director Jyothi also adds that Bobby was very happy and excited to shoot his new scenes and has 'killed it' in the film. The Bollywood star made his Telugu debut with Balakrishna's Daaku Maharaaj, which also was a huge hit at the box office. Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu to release in two parts

Bobby Deol'srole in HHVM undergoes major transformation post ‘Animal'

Bobby Deol's portrayal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, is now set to be one of the film's most compelling highlights. The film, a lavish period drama directed by A.M. Jyothi Krishna, has undergone significant creative changes after the director was inspired by Bobby's intense performance in Animal. Initially, Bobby Deol had completed a few scenes for the film. However, after witnessing his riveting, dialogue-less role in Animal, where his emotive expressions left a lasting impact, director Jyothi Krishna decided to revisit the script. 'Bobby garu's performance in Animal was spellbinding. His ability to express so much with just his eyes inspired me to completely redesign his character in our film,' said Jyothi Krishna. The character of Aurangzeb was reimagined to match Bobby's evolving screen persona. The new arc gives the character more emotional weight and complexity. Key elements like the backstory, motivations, and physical presentation were rewritten to amplify the performance potential. 'I wanted to match the depth and presence Bobby now commands. The makeover brings intensity and elegance to Aurangzeb's character,' the director explained. Bobby Deol was reportedly thrilled with the revised script. 'He is an actor who constantly seeks to push boundaries,' Jyothi Krishna noted. 'In Hari Hara Veera Mallu, his screen presence is commanding—he conveys volumes through his eyes alone.' The collaboration is shaping up to be one of the film's major strengths, with both director and actor aligning on a vision that elevates the character. With this transformation, Aurangzeb's portrayal in Hari Hara Veera Mallu promises to be a powerful and memorable one.

Chiranjeevi proceeds with Mega157 and puts Rs 200 crore-budget project Vishwambhara on hold over poor VFX?

Megastar Chiranjeevi grabbed a lot of attention after the glimpses from his upcoming Telugu fantasy project, Vishwambhara, made rounds. The Mallidi Vassishta directorial had created strong buzz with its premise and hype. However, with the lack of new updates or confirmation of a release date, fans are curious about when the film will actually make it to the silver screen. Chiranjeevi's Vishwambhara likely to rework on poor VFX? As per a recent Filmfare report, Chiranjeevi's anticipated Telugu fantasy film Vishwambhara is said to be put on the back burner, amid the actor's already lined-up work front. It is believed that, following the underwhelming response to the movie's VFX, as visible in its teaser, the megastar has asked the makers to focus on this aspect and rework it further, before releasing any more promotional glimpses. A source quoted by the portal said, 'Vishwambhara belongs to the socio-fantasy genre, and this is the first time Chiranjeevi is doing a film in that genre after 25 years (Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari 1990). He doesn't want to take any more chances and be a troll material, and therefore asked the filmmakers to tread a cautious path.' Chiranjeevi focuses on his film with Anil Ravipudi With Vishwambhara dropping out of his immediate lineup of films due to its rework, the senior actor is now said to be focusing solely on another crucial project he has next, directed by Anil Ravipudi. As per previous reports, Chiranjeevi has allotted bulk dates to finish the shooting of this project in one go, most importantly because this one has locked on a final release date of January 2026. Is Vishwambhara postponed further? Speaking about Vishwambhara, the Filmfare report further stated that given the amount of changes required, they are now eyeing a theatrical release of the film not before the summer of 2026. However, an official update is required from the makers or the actor's team as of yet. Returning to the Anil Ravipudi film, it is tentatively titled Mega157 and has already begun filming. Chiranjeevi will share the screen space with Nayanthara in the movie, while Venkatesh Daggubati is reportedly playing a cameo role.
