Hyundai Motor India has announced that models like the Grand i10 Nios , Exter , Verna , Aura , Venue N Line and Venue will now get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This has been done using a wired to wireless adapter. The company had first introduced the adapter with the Hyundai Alcazar . With the latest update, the entire lineup of Hyundai in India can be had with wireless mobile phone connectivity.

The new wired to wireless adapter is claimed to enhance the convenience and ease of using the infotainment system. Whether navigating maps or streaming music, the wireless adapter enables users to access their mobile apps (as supported by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) directly through the vehicle's infotainment system.

With the new Wired to Wireless Adapter, HMIL continues to focus on offering cutting-edge features, smart technology and future-ready mobility solutions that resonate with the evolving needs of Indian customers. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, stated that the Wired to Wireless Adapter reaffirms the company's commitment to offering accessible and advanced connectivity solutions across the product range.
Hyundai Verna: New variants added
Along with the introduction of the wired to wireless adapter for Grand i10 Nios, Exter, Verna, Aura, Venue N Line and Venue, Hyundai has also updated the Verna lineup with new variants. The new Hyundai Verna SX+ is priced starting at ₹13.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the higher spec iVT variant is priced at a premium to the manual at ₹15.04 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Hyundai Verna is available with either a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit. The 1.5-litre NA petrol engine is available with a six-speed manual gearbox and IVT, while it churns out 114 bhp peak power and 143.8 Nm of maximum torque.

The new variant of the Hyundai Verna gets multiple features including a Bose 8 speaker system, leather seat upholstery, ventilated and heated front seats, front parking sensors, LED headlamps and more such modern conveniences. Prior to this, the carmaker had updated the Hyundai Alcazar lineup with a new variant.

Named the Hyundai HTWO Innovation Centre, the ₹ 180 crore facility will come up at IIT Madras' Discovery Campus in Thaiyur and is scheduled to become operational by 2026. Driving innovation in green hydrogen The project was announced during the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet in January 2024 and is positioned as a key catalyst for India's transition to clean energy. The centre aims to deepen research in hydrogen production, storage, and application, with a special focus on its role in sustainable mobility and power solutions. 'Tamil Nadu is proud to be at the forefront of automotive and clean-tech innovation. With institutions like IIT Madras and partners like Hyundai, we are setting the stage for India—and potentially Asia—to lead the R&D efforts in next-gen hydrogen technologies," he said. A platform for global collaboration The facility will span 65,000 sq ft and include state-of-the-art experimental and computational labs. These will enable the development of digital twins for hydrogen infrastructure, pilot-scale electrolyser and fuel cell systems, and test zones for industrial-scale containerised solutions. Hyundai Motor India MD Unsoo Kim stated that the centre will be an 'open innovation platform," bringing together international experts, Indian researchers, and industry partners to accelerate breakthroughs. ''HTWO'—which stands for both 'Hydrogen' and 'Humanity'—represents our vision to create sustainable and scalable solutions aligned with Hyundai's global carbon neutrality goals," Kim noted. According to IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti, this initiative will contribute to India's Atmanirbhar Bharat goals and Net Zero target for 2070. By enabling localisation of the hydrogen value chain and fostering public–private partnerships, the centre seeks to establish Tamil Nadu as a national—and possibly regional—hub for clean-tech innovation. With this move, Hyundai Motor India reaffirms its long-term commitment to the Indian market, not just as a manufacturing base but as a cradle of future-ready, sustainable technologies. Hyundai, IIT Madras Join Hands To Launch Hydrogen Innovation Hub In Chennai

Chennai: In a major push for green mobility, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced the establishment of its HTWO Innovation Centre in Chennai, in partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras). The ₹100-crore initiative at the new Discovery Campus of IIT Madras aims to develop a fully localised hydrogen ecosystem—from production to transportation—paving the way for clean, sustainable mobility solutions in India. The HTWO Innovation Centre will serve as a collaborative platform that brings together industry, academia, and government. It will foster innovation by incubating start-ups, supporting researchers, and enabling companies to develop end-to-end hydrogen solutions. Hyundai's move is being seen as a strategic step to align with India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and decarbonisation goals. In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, Gopal Krishnan C S, full-time director and Chief Manufacturing Officer of Hyundai Motor India, said "We are committed to building a hydrogen value chain by localising technologies. This centre will encourage start-ups and innovators to bring out solutions tailored for Indian conditions." He added that hydrogen-powered vehicles, which offer higher efficiency and zero emissions, could become a critical part of India's clean energy future. "As hydrogen fuel evolves, we must work to mitigate all related challenges. Hyundai is ready to adapt to customer preferences and market dynamics," Krishnan said. The company, already known for its futuristic and premium offerings, is positioning itself as a leader in next-gen mobility. The HTWO Innovation Centre is expected to act as a catalyst, not just for R&D, but also for large-scale deployment of hydrogen technologies in transportation and energy sectors. IIT Madras Director Prof V Kamakoti set a two-year timeline for the facility "to launch a test run of a hydrogen-powered car from Chennai to Kanniyakumari with only one stop in Trichy to fill fuel". Giving a comparison of fuel efficiency by hydrogen-powered vehicles, Motto Iype Thomas, Regional Director of Sales Indiaz Middle East and Africa said "Compared to the mileage by CNG, hydrogen can give say three to four times mileage". By tapping into IIT Madras' academic strength and leveraging Hyundai's global expertise, the collaboration hopes to create a dynamic ecosystem that supports India's clean energy vision and industrial innovation.
