Chilling details of Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar's death emerge: Insects in hair, ‘black-coloured mass'
Humaira's body was found nearly a year after her death, lying unnoticed in her upscale Karachi apartment.
According to Geo News, the initial post-mortem findings suggested that she had died eight to 10 months ago. Her decomposed body was found by a police team while executing a court order to vacate the flat.
The report revealed that her key organs were reduced to an unidentifiable mass, and her facial features were completely unrecognisable, Pakistan-based GeoTV reported.
Parts of the body were "entirely devoid of muscle" tissue, and the bones began to "disintegrate upon touch," the report cited. It reported that her fingers and nails were "reduced to bone".
Moreover, it was found that the brain matter had completely decomposed via autolysis, and internal organs had turned into a "black-coloured mass".
The cartilage in joints was absent; however, it said no fractures were detected in bones.
Investigators also found insects in the remains, though no maggots were found. Brown-coloured insects, especially in the hair, were claimed to be present.
Experts were quoted as saying that these details may help determine the environmental conditions in which she lay undisturbed.
According to the post-mortem findings, Humaira's head and spine remained intact, but there was no spinal cord as the body was highly decomposed.
The initial post-morten report stated that extent of the decomposition has made it impossible to determine the exact cause of death at this stage.
However, DNA profiling and toxicology tests are under way and are expected to provide further insight.
Hair strands, clothes and blood samples had been sent for chemical analysis, GeoTV reported.
Humaira's body was found earlier this week when law enforcement personnel visited her apartment around 3:15pm to enforce a court-ordered eviction. After receiving no response, the police forced open the door and discovered her body lying on the floor. She had reportedly been living alone in the flat for the past seven years.

'Based on specific information, a search operation was launched by BSF troops that culminated in the recovery of a huge packet containing five small packets of heroin. It weighed 6.250 kg. The recovery was made from farmland adjacent to Kakkar village. In this case too, the drug was wrapped in a yellow adhesive tape with a wooden hook attached to the packet,' he said. 'These operations reflect the BSF's unwavering commitment to securing the nation's borders and its consistent efforts in preventing cross-border smuggling of narcotics by Pakistani drones,' he added.

Indians lost staggering ₹7,000 crore to online scams in 5 months of 2025: Report
Indians lost around ₹ 7,000 crore to online scams in the first five months of 2025, an estimate by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has revealed. More than half of this amount was lost to scamsters operating out of Cambodia and other Southeast Asian countries such as Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand, according to the report in the Indian Express The analysis of the data compiled by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), a unit under MHA, revealed that these scams are often run from high-security locations, reportedly controlled by Chinese operators, where trafficked people, including Indians, are forced to work, the Indian Express report said. On an average, the scams led to A loss of around ₹ 1,000 crore every month in India, according to the report. 'In January, ₹ 1,192 crore was lost to Southeast Asia-based countries, ₹ 951 crore in February, ₹ 1,000 crore in March, ₹ 731 crore in April and ₹ 999 crore in May,' the report quoted an official saying. The report cited data from the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS), I4C's facility for helping citizens report and manage financial cyber fraud incidents. A recent investigation revealed that three types of major cybercrime frauds are operating from Southeast Asia. These include stock trading/investment scams, digital arrest, and task-based and investment-based scams. 'With the help of intelligence agencies, the government has identified at least 45 such scam compounds in Cambodia, five in Laos, and one in Myanmar,' the official said. Law enforcement agencies also tracked agents recruiting Indians for these operations. Most have been reported to be operating out of Maharashtra (59), followed by Tamil Nadu (51), Jammu and Kashmir (46), Uttar Pradesh (41), and Delhi (38). Indians are likely to lose over ₹1.2 trillion over the next year due to cyber fraud. CBI raid at DRM office: Woman rly official caught taking bribe
LUCKNOW The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday raided the Divisional Railway Manager's (DRM) office at Hazratganj in Lucknow and caught a woman railway official red-handed while accepting a bribe. Sources said three other individuals had also been taken into custody and were being interrogated in connection with the case. (Pic for representation) The accused, Anjum Nisha, a clerk posted in the engineering section of the North Eastern Railway's Lucknow division, is associated with the Gati Shakti project. She allegedly demanded a bribe from a contractor for clearing a pending bill, said sources in the agency. According to agency sources, the CBI had received five complaints alleging corruption in the renovation of small and major railway stations under the project. The estimated budgets ranged from ₹5 crore for minor stations to ₹10 crore for larger ones. Once the complaints were verified, the Delhi-based CBI team, in coordination with their Lucknow counterparts, launched the operation. Mission Gati Shakti is a flagship government initiative aimed at transforming transport infrastructure. The CBI laid a trap, acting on a complaint filed by the contractor. Around 4pm, the contractor handed over an envelope containing cash to Nisha just outside the DRM office. As soon as she accepted the envelope, officials arrested her on the spot. The team remained on the premises until late evening, questioning multiple staff members linked to the project. Sources said three other individuals had also been taken into custody and were being interrogated in connection with the case.
